  • ive tried to do live plants but nothing works can anyone help with with this??

  • Does the betta live in the breeder? o_O

  • What's the cool orange fish at :54

    Not the clown loaches.

    I think it's a tetra...?

  • @SuperCheesetastic its called a serpae tetra

  • @fishkeeperforlife No, I could swear that is a betta in the tiny box. It is not a tetra. :O

  • @SuperCheesetastic no problem, but yes that is a betta in that fish that you were talking about at :54, thats a serpae tetra :)

  • @fishkeeperforlife Oh, I see what you were talking about. Thanks! *blonde moment*

  • hay man why do you have a fish in the plastic cup on the right side??

  • why is your betta in a little thing?????

  • whats the messaruments of this tank? im tryin to figure out what size i have now for my ball python. thanks in advance.

  • is that an all gravel substrate or have u aded furtalizers

  • i have the same Neon fish as you! :O

  • im so jealous can you tellme what all you do to maintain it so well

  • nice community tank

  • i love your aquarium

  • @ quaqa88 how do u keep ur tank so clean??

  • I can't either were are they quaqa88

  • i cant find your first 3 updates...

  • theres only 2 clown loaches in your tank and they are schooling fish.

  • theres only 2 clown loaches in your tank and they are schooling fish

  • why did you let a bettafish get trapped?

  • Sweet, nice set up. At the moment, the 20 gallon is empty. I have a 70 gallon freshwater tank.... and a 100 gallon saltwater. :)

  • dude please make new update

  • There fcking TETRAS its not a over stock!!!

  • how many fish do you have in your tank?

  • this is over stocked

  • really nice tank. you said in a comment not to over feed the fish . how do you know how much to feed them because when i feed mine they go nuts and pretty much eat all of it . so im not sure if i should keep feeding until they stop eating or do they eat the food from the bottom later? i just started my aquarium so i wanna make sure i keep my fish in a great living condition so any other advise you could give me would be great. thanks.

  • You should come and see my 30 gallon fish tank

  • Hey you will soon start lossing your live plants because the clown loaches will start eating your plants. if you feed them small cut celery they will stop.

  • iluv ur tank so nice luv the plants i luv how u do real plants instead of fake ive always done fake cuz they last longer no upkeep & such & such. i love ur tank i've done 5 gal tanks b4 but been meaning to upgrade2 30 gal tank for 5 goldfish & skulls

  • i have 3 fantail fish in a 5.5 gallon tank but i want to up grade them to a 30

but can i put anymore in??

  • Not sure if somebody commented on this but research those plants that are in the cylinders. A good 90% of them are not fully aquatic plants and will eventually rot.

  • What's Is The Size Of That Tank Because Mine Looks A Lot Smaller Than That

  • @3DGAR775 30 gallon long (4ft long 12inch wide usually 18 high)

  • nice tank, I would throw some small java fern or crypts up front or in the front left corner. Awesome tank, but why not pick up a 2.5 or 3 gallon tank for the male betta. You can keep some red cherry shrimp or ADF's in there and it would make an awesome planted nano.

Good job throwing out a reminder to people about clown loach's adult sizes.

An ADF won't eat living fish, but and african clawed frog will eat them live.

  • hey man need your help can u tell me how do u keep ur water so clean i do 25 to 50%water changes every week but it looks like everytime i clean it get worse and other thing i have real plants too but they get like a algae all over do you know what am i doing wrong and nice tank by the way hope u write me back thanks

  • @jvucket It could be a number of things. Make sure that your water quality is in check, that your nitrates and phosphates aren't too high, that your filter is working properly and you are giving it regular cleaning and maintenance, that you are vacuuming debris from the gravel bed, that there isn't too much light over the aquarium, that you aren't overfeeding the tank, or that the tank isn't over stocked. Water changes aren't the only things that need to be done to keep the tank clean.

  • @quaqa88 oh thanks bro for the advise!!ill check all of those things

  • @quaqa88 Clown loaches really do eventually grow to be rather... large... Ours is about 3 or 4 inches and going strong still after 3 years being away from Walmart, and apart from that, they will bully corie catfish, and sometimes eachother, if there are more open waters. You however have plenty of places that they could control, so that's nice.

Personally, I love the Rasboras, and I reccomend the ghost shrimp, they may distract that frog of yours, lol.

  • @jvucket Sorry to but in but you should also do only about a 20 percent water change every week to make sure that you arent interrupting the tanks cycle or stressing the fish with too much new water.

  • @jvucket

Have you slowly established your tank, by adding a couple fish at a time over a period of several months? It could be that your biofilter (that the good bacteria live on, that keep your tank clean) is having to work too hard to keep up. If that's the case, you'll need to remove fish and keep the population low until the water is consistently clear and your nitrite/ammonia levels are reading 0. Then introduce a couple fish every few weeks until you reach the desired number.

  • i love the set up on your tank I am still working on my 20 gal :)

  • i love the setup of ur tank !! but dont u think u havea little to many fish ?

  • How do you keep your plants so alive? I've never had luck with any of my plants!!

  • i just got a loche, albino rainbow shark today

  • i spy a tank under the 30 gallon tank

  • Hey, if you have a lot of plants in your tank, can fish feed off of it if your not home, and if not what product can i use to feed my fish while im gone?

  • @Tqafg96 fish dont eat plastic plants.. and u dont want food to be available to them at all times . theyll get fat and die. durrrrr. research buddy !

  • NICE TANK!!! what kind of light do you use? brand, watt, etc. we have a 30 gallon planted to and think we need a better light lol thx

  • Dued u dont have to apologize to any any!! Shit i dont!!!

  • what happen to that beta fish':( he so lonely is he sick

  • no bettas are fighting fish that cant live with any other fish

  • @thebakuman77 not all beta fish it depends on the aggresion of the beta and what type of fish you have him with in the tank.

  • Hi really nice tank, would like to know where you got the gravel and if its a mixture.. Thanks please respond

  • Hey, I was wondering what kind of filter you have on this tank. Please respond. Thanks

  • clown loches get 8 inches you probely saw a king clown loch but you had normal loches

  • what fertilizer do you use to keep ur plants healthy.

  • what are your aqurium mesurments

  • dude i love that tank!! lol but im about to get a 30 because my goldfish in my 20 are getting to big any tips on how to maintain 30 gallon water clean?? please reply!!! =)

  • @sk8p3rson7 dont mess with the stuff in the tank dont do water changes every week just leave it alone on do a 20 % water chane once a month

  • any chance of another update on both your tanks, Hows one arm

  • Marvelous tank! I have some questions. What kind of filtration do you have on this tank? The water is clean. I couldn't see if you had a C02 system on there I guess the fish makes enough of it in there. What kind of light you'd recommend? Thanks for posting! Keep 'em coming! =^]

  • is htis a 30 gallon long tank or just regualr

  • its long i believe. i've seen one similar. the long tanks are better for little fish that swim in schools. but for fish like oscars or piranha or pacu's your gonna want a tall tank

  • @quaqa88 where did you get this tank it looks like a huge 30 gallon aquarium so please tell me because I am upgrading from my 10 gallon

  • Yea I have seen clown loaches get pretty big as well. However I to have a 30 gallon tank. When we first bought our tank we bought a baby pleco he was 2 in. 3 years later he had grown to a foot and we donated him to the zoo here in cleveland, he is on display,he is now 4 feet long!

  • wow.

  • you should put cichlids it this tank!!!

  • heyy

where did you get that plastic betta breeder?

  • The Betta breeder can be found at any aquarium store or pet supermarket that sells fish supplies and accessories. It can also be found online.

  • @xxjustin23xx

i got mine from walmart. it was 4 bucks

  • gah, your clown loaches are out and about, mine hide all the time

  • to much with da fish

  • why is your betta seperated? poor him.. cant he be with the other fishes? Maybe you should get a seperate bowl for him because I think he feels like you are teasing him. He wants to swimm with the other fishes but he cant :( I doont know really but to me he looks sad.

  • Mate, I gotta say this tank is beautiful aye...

Top marks for the gorgeous natural look, the plants look unreal and the fish combination is well picked...

    Happy fish keeping bud !

  • Those 'containers' tend to have non aquatic plants. Lucky with the wisteria, it's a beast. ;)

  • Do you use any special care for your plants such as CO2 or the soil fertilizer type stuff under your gravel or is it just regular gravel?

  • they only get 6 inches

  • get some yellow lab chiclids

  • Very nice design. Are the plants in pots or rooted right in the gravel? I have a 45 I'm setting up. Going to get plants tomorrow. Really nice.

  • My plants are all rooted into the gravel with no pots. Pots, as well as metal/rubber bands, that hold the plant's roots together should be removed from the plant when it is added to the aquarium. This is because when these roots are bundled together as so, they cannot "breath" and it does not take long before they start to rot and the plant dies.

  • Thank you! I prefer them in the gravel too.

  • Oh thats tight how u got that betta seperated from everyone else. Dude where do they sell those. I need one so i can put a betta with cichlids.

  • i think im restricted because my aquarium has an undergravel filter, so i dnt think i can grow plants, i tend to buy plants bundled together wen i buy them and place them into the gravel, but they tend to over time, fade away and i then replace them, any hints or tips for plants wiv an undergravel filter??

  • @coggie88 hey if they wire is still attached to the plants bundling them together, that might be strangling the roots which causes the plant to struggle and die

  • fesh water does not over stock mutch

  • dang usually i dont like natural color rocks but with the green plants very nice 10/10

  • how could you not like natural rocks fucking pink and blue could not get any gayer

  • Those black tetras are going to live forever! I bought some for my 55 gallon planted and they are all still alive like 5 years later....

  • where did you buy ur aquarium and what is it called?

  • wen r u gonna update thiis tank and ur reef tank????=)

  • Aww, do you always keep your betta in that little box?

  • why dont u update uer tank

  • There will be an update very soon.

  • k thanks i just love uer tank

  • thts wiked nice man..

loaches are gonna get pretty big tho lol.

    what size tank?

check out mine im not completely done with it yet tho

  • That plant you are talking about isn't an aquatic plant. It is a land fern falsely advertised as a aquatic plant. It just needs moisture. Although it doesn't do too bad in the water. But if you take it out now it won't live long since its been in the water.

  • I beg to differ that Water Wisteria is indeed an aquatic plant. One of the obvious ways you can tell that a plant is aquatic is whether or not it holds straight out of the water. Plants like Cobomba and Water Wisteria are flimsy and flop over when taken out of the water, because they have adapted to the water and depend on it's buoyancy to hold them up. Other ferns are much more stiff and can hold there bodies when taken out of the water. Wisteria is not one of these ferns.

  • ageered i have the same plant liek uers but its very tall and had to be trimed twice in 1 month lol its very nice and green grows very nice lol

do any update on your tank lol

  • I think I might be talking about a different plant then, and it does indeed look different than the one I had. Did you get it from Petsmart? They sell plants in cylinders with gel at the bottom and claim they are good for both "terrariums and aquariums"-but to my knowledge a true aquatic plant shouldn't survive out of water so idk

  • Hay quaqa88 how much did you purchase your whole aquarium set up for. how much did the 30 gallin tank tank cost. did it come with the hood or did they cost separate. I found a good deal on a 30 gallon tank at pet land for 43 dollars without the hood, filter, or stand im thinking on buying another tank you think that is a good deal

  • your water is clean for all the fish you have

what kind of filter do you have?

  • hey dude for a 29 gallon tank i want to make it a south american theme

can u give me a list of fish that well do good for south american theme and can give me a list of good plants too

  • Comment removed

  • Alex, would you please tell me what and why the betta is doing?

  • I don;t understand your question. What do you mean by what is the Betta doing?

  • LIke what is he in?

  • Read the comment below.

  • what is the betta in?

  • The Betta is in a plastic fish breeder.

  • I have some plants, they are in plastic pots so should i keep them in there or take them out?

  • take them out

  • do i have to or could i leave them in there for a little bit

  • It is quite important that you remove the plastic pots or containers that the bottom of the plants sit in. Even though it makes situating plants in the aquarium much easier, it will not be long before the roots of the plant start to rot and the plant will die.

  • take them out becausu the plastic is bad for the water

  • thanks

  • What is that betta doing?

  • I have one of those loaches in my 75 gallon african chicklid tank and have been in there for 2 years.I have try to upload video to the computer but it will not upload.

  • What is the betta in?

  • you did not reply before . can you tell me what type of sustrate do you use or do you use just plain gravel for your plants.

  • Oh sorry. There is no special substrate that I use for my plants, it is just plain river gravel. However I do use a liquid plant fertilizer to help the growth of my plants and to supply necessary nutrients that are not normally found in the water.

  • so u used only 2 fish to cycle ur tank?

  • is that a 30. my 30 looks not as wide alot higher

  • Tanks can come in all different shapes and sizes and still have the same volume of water.

  • nice tank

  • wow ur fish have grown

  • That's really strange, mine looks different.

  • That's not a 30 gallon.........

  • Yes it is. The video makes it look larger but it really is a 30 gallon aquarium.

  • big fish! What do you feed them?

  • I feed them regular tropical flakes and frozen bloodworms. I rotate it every other day.

  • oh yeah ! sorry one more question do you use substrate for the plants or gravel also wich one do you like better.

  • I had a 25 gallon (tall) community tank and i use only fake plants and i was wondering what kind of care live aquatic plants need seeing in the video you have some i was hopeing you know.

  • Great aquarium ! It is very nice and looks very natural. I have a question do you use co2 difusers for you real plants or not all planted aquariums require them.

  • Do you have a Red Tailed Shark i Got one in my 30 gallon and any left over food he cleans up every scrap, there kinda like the Cleaners of the Fish World but can he's Agresive towards my Pictus Catfish he has his own corner in the tank where he chills

  • hey dude i jsut got that plant that u got to ! lol but mine is like 1 foot something tall and my ghost shrimp love it ,it gives a nice back ground plant its awsome

  • I have a few questions....

How often do you clean out your tank?

Do you keep fresh and fake plants in that aquarium?

When you clean out your tank do you use any additional treatment in the water your adding?

  • Hey Alex, watching your fish videos has really made me consider joining the hooby. What cool ciclids should i get for my 30 gallon tank? Also, what's your top 5 favorite fresh water fish?

  • I hope you make a good decision TheAquariumKid. :) also search about the nitrogen cycle! Good info there!

Anyways nice aquarium quaqa88! I like how you placed what I think is an anubias nana. :)

Although I agree with bverman123. the clown loaches will grow big. They need 55 gallon atleast.

  • hey dude one question is this a good community tank for a 10 gallon 6 neon tetra 1 flame dwarf gorumi 1 silver hachet 2 dalmation mollys 2 guppys 1 rubber lip plec 1sword tail or platy 3-5shrimps and like 5or6 plants?? plzz reply
  • I'm not quaqa88 but I can tell you that keeping that many fish in a 10 gallon is not possible. I did a quick add of all the fish length with 4 shrimps and got a total length of 36 inches. For 36 inches of fish you will need at least a 40 gallon according to the 1 inch per gallon rule but if you are getting a tall tank then it's good to have less because of a smaller water surface. The pleco needs a much bigger tank anyways. Plants can really vary because there are so many different kinds.

  • the pleco wat so ever dont look liek a pleco it different kind it only gets lik 3 in

  • wow amazing fish tank!

  • lol alex u made this vid on my b day!

  • I got a moss-ball today and 1 other plant =)

  • this is a great vid. ima have to buy a 30 gallon tank cause my silver dollar fishes are growing fast and will reach up to 5.5 inches

  • hey youll wanna be careful when your clown loaches get bigger they will start to attack your little cardinal tetras.

  • what do u do if u have two fish that are always fighting and what u do with one that is eating all the others?

  • What do you think? You remove the problem causing fish!

  • O OK WHAT KIND OF LIGHTING DO U HAVE ?

  • I have regular florescent lighting on my tank. It is only a 30 watt bulb that is made specifically for the growth of plants.

  • hey how do u keep the plants so green do u have just all gravel in the tank or like substrate stuf ??

i have a 40 gallon planted tank and some of my plants r decaying and suff plez help thanks

  • hey imo u need to have a really good light for ur plants and i just put the plants in the gravel my tank just has 2 potted plants bamboo and anubias in driftwood

  • I have a 40 gallon tank how many fish can i put in it?

  • depends what kind of fish

  • how many fish do you have. PLEASE ANSWER!

  • how many fish do you have. PLEASE ANSWER!

  • I think about 20.

  • This is a beautiful tank. The plants are a great addition to the aquarium. I'm really sorry about the loss of one of your fish. While you were gone, whoever cared for your tanks did a great job.

  • beautiful setup nice tank and fish keep it up

  • you should get a couple leopard corys. the are hardy fish and help keep the tank clean. they are a type of catfish i think. and are cool looking.

  • Super !!! regards

    with Polish

  • you bought the plant from PETCO

clown loaches get very big...so get ready for that a illness that can happen in only one fish: dropsy can't be caught by other fish becasue it is casued by an infection

  • only royal clown loachs get really big

  • yeah my fish store has the cylinder things and picking them out of tanks

  • Did you add more fish?

    Certainly looks populated now =D

  • did u even watch the video?

he added clown loaches and black skirt tetras

  • do u hav c02 in there?

  • Tank looks fabulous, enjoyed seeing it. Do you place styrofoam sheet under your tanks? I read this tip somewhere & it's supposed to equal out weight of tank on the stand. One of my 10 gal. tanks has an ever so slow leak now - so I wished I placed the styrofoam sheet under it as it might have helped. My 10 gal tanks came from thrift stores as such a bargain.

  • wow it looks awesome

u should put your beta in i doubt he will attack try it and keep a net handy in case

  • i had that plant it grows fast and massive. over grown my tank with in few months so i broke it off and stuck the end piece in another tank and it started growing.

  • nice!

  • Yay i love clown loaches =) tho they get really big on my LFS theres huge tank whit clown loaches like 30-40CM long but nice tank!!
