  • why cant you just plug the new drive in?

  • I am going to try this right now :-/

  • can somebody tell me how you kno what colors to solder and which one to solder to...?

  • Thanks man very good vid

  • Hey there, i was just wondering if you could help me? i accidentally broke the cord connecting the lens to the PBC and i was wondering if i could jsut repolace it with the same cord or is the cord specific to each machine?

  • @boneriffik123 Thats what happened to me, so I ended up ordering a new one... and it happened again -.-

Connecting the ribbon to the pcb slot is a nightmare. I think the little teeth on my old PCB are possibly fucked tho, because compared to the new pcb it ain't gripping very well ><

  • @Diablo4000 i ended up breaking the clip where you attach the ribbon to the pbc :/ it's a good nob i managed to fix it using the new pbc, but i got the xbox up and running in the end :)

  • @boneriffik123 I eventually fixed mine too, didn't realize that the pcb connections had little latches : / I wish the dude in the video pointed that out...

  • @Diablo4000 Yeah, it's something to add to the description i think :P

  • look at 3:51 i thought you said it was new then why does it have three legs?

  • Umm well just saying without all the soldering u could have just replaced the old one with the new one!! JUST SAYING

  • @TWYDSJ certainly seems a helluva lot easier but then again this is a microsoft product were talkin about xD

  • @TWYDSJ wouldn't work because you would need to flash the motherboard because of the firmware inside an xbox 360

  • why are you using a magnetic screw driver?!?!?!?!?

  • thanks for help....was gtting 2 lights...didnt want to snd bck again so I used this as a guide to take it apart and clean all the dust out...vaccuumed every time I removed a piece....though I did end up breaking a few tabs conncting top to bottom...anyway works fine now!!! although the first few times I tried to turn on it sounded like it was warmin up to explode then went right to 2 blinkn lights again..did that 3-4 times then finally worked...go figure. Thnx 4 help

  • does this work for a lite on drive

  • is the white glue stuff supposed to be on the chip? Mine has that and it doesn't work. The connectors on the black squares also look like they have rusted away. Is the chip still OK?

  • hold on...do you have to buy a new disc drive before u fix it?

  • @Methodcripwalker yea i think you do...kinda pointless eh?

  • yea it is..i would rather buy a new one lol

  • This replaces flashing your 360 right???

  • Yeah, because you still use that same chip.

  • Thanks for the reply

  • Hurry up and make a E68 video please!

  • this guy in the comments is dumb he explains that the drive is coded and you have to scrap the new drive to fix the old you cant just put the drive in your xbox it wont work i hate these dudes that dont know what they are talking about dont post text if your a dumbass if you just pay attention and use your ears and watch part 2 u would understand. Great VID man this will be helpfulto me soon being that my drive sometimes says open tray instead of play game. THANX man!!!!

  • everybody is hatin cause they dont know what theyre talkin about its pretty funny actually

but just to get it straight you cant just slide in a new on you have to use your old board because it matches your xbox

  • and thats why ps3's are better.

  • wait. let me get this straight.

you bought a whole new drive so that you could scrap it for the circuit board and risk the chance of breaking it while putting it in the old drive?

wouldn't it just make more sense to put in the new drive directly?!

  • @varun009 you should watch all parts numb nut, and possibly research it b4 you talk with your asshole!

  • if you're so smart why would you look up a turorial. who's the dumbass now?! and hey ur the one that started the fight

  • @varun009 wow... are you serious? i just watched this to see how to do it... then you watched it and you obviously didnt watch the whole thing and are already asking stupid fucking questions... i told you to watch the rest and your now calling me a dumb ass! LMAO you really are fucking stupid!!!!! i never started a fight i just said in a rude manor that you should watch the whole thing! 3 parts not 1! you fucking moron! maybe you should look into schooling for common sense!

  • you idiot why dont you try looking into the history of the situation.

when i watched this only the first part was out.

get a life or find some thing better to do rather than sitting in your dark corner contemplating the darkness and undisputed progady of warfare.

  • lmao your funny

  • No, you need the board out of your old drive for the new one to work because the board is electronicaly "Married" to your 360's motherboard. I do this for a living and learned the hard way.

  • thanks for th good reply! as you can see no one except you has given me a straight forward reply!

    thanks!

  • Yeah, I noticed that and told you the truth about it insted of giving a crappy reply like other people on youtube like to do... Glad that I could help.

  • Great vid man, this just helped me now. Lucky you posted this yesterday, haha :)

  • hmm can u just put in the new one ?

  • Awesome video! Really helpful also. Do you know where I can get a soldering iron by any chance?

    5 stars

  • walmart?

  • @aneesh1995 Staples or any hardware store should have it, and no I don't think walmart carries it actually...

  • what drive do you recommend we buy because i have a broken hitachi
