  • ok thats not a little brown - that is just black lol... is it even still good? but yea, fried plantain is AWESOME

  • All I do is just wait for them to fully ripen. When they turn black all the way they are the sweetest! No need to fry!!

  • I make ripe plantains w lil oil. Love plantains, ck out my channel series, Norma Yr Nutritionist

  • You all make me LAUGH!!! LOL LOL LOL I'm gonna assume it's the HUNGER that has you all fighting over how it's pronounced and where it's from. EAT AND BE MERRY!! LOL

  • Stop fighting over where Plaintains/Plantanos come from. They are an Island food and thus can be found anywhere there's an island ... from Africa to the Caribbean to the Philippines to Puerto Rico and beyond!

  • Dominicanos comen tostones con salami. Me gustan tostones!

  • I love Platanos!

  • Just fryin some plaaantins.

  • It's actually a Western Africa dish introduced to the Caribbean through slavery....most of the Caribbean cuisine came from Black slaves by the way.

  • plantinns

  • Actually it's originally Dominican tradition

  • @amp358 it's from all the caribbean countries. we all eat fried plantain/ platanos fritos

  • MMMMMM!

  • You should try tostones. Fry thick slices then squish it and fry again.

A lot of the recipes require green ones but the last time I picked some up they were already ripe and they had no green ones so I had no choice.

I also saw a recipe where you boil them, squish and then bake them if you don't want to fry.

  • Mima 1 Im gon' get some tomato sauce and beef meet

  • Platanos!! they're so good

  • "plantains" or "platanos" are both right. Plantains is in French and in English and plantenos is in Spanish.
