  • i love the concept but the price LOL ,,,

  • This is indeed the way of the future. We need to save our fossil fuels and save Mother Earth from destruction.

  • WarGamezzz, you're a tard. It doesn't matter if it's been incorrectly named. It still works.

  • This is NOT GEOTHERMAL, these are called GROUND SOURCE COUPLED HEATPUMPS.

People selling this as geothermal are bsing u, the constant temperature under 6ft or so of ground is caused by solar energy emitted from the sun. If it was REAL geothermal it would harness the energy from geothermal activity as is done in Iceland. It is incorrect to classify this alternative energy as "geothermal"

  • Dude get off the crack!!!! who cares it works and they kill fossil fuel dependency

  • @WarGamezzz

Know what you are talking about before you talk about it. haha

  • Ground source heat pumps utilize the earths geothermal energy. Heat is continually produced below the earths crust, mostly from the decay of naturally radioactive materials such as uranium and potassium. People selling this as geothermal energy ar absolutely correct, it has nothing to do with solar radiation.

  • They don't use copper tubing. It's poly something and the refridgerant is eco-friendly.

  • It's Polyethelene Pipe with heat-fused joints, rated for 200 years. The fluid used in the pipe is 85% water and 15% anti-freeze; completely earth friendly, will not freeze, and will not leak.

  • this is a bad idea i do this for a living and the dx geo is bad when you send cold refegerent into the ground in the wintertime you freeze the ground and cannot transfer any more you cannot extract heat from ice these are going in in ct. and they dont work

  • This only happens if the technician under sizes the system, if the soil does not have enough capacity for the cold or for the heat, you need to make contact with more soil, simple enough.

  • @mwduncan1 Yeah definitely important to pick the location and system wisely. You make a big impact on the surrounding earth. You can end up having frozen parking lots when its well above freezing outside.

  • how long will that copper tubing last? I can't see that staying copper that long before it turns green and starts leaking.

  • The copper tubing is often insulated by a plasticized cement for more energy transfer, with the absence of oxygen in the cement, the copper should last the life of the house.

  • $30-50k is absurd. I just got an estimate for $10,000 for a 3300 square foot house.

  • I thought that was a little high priced, too. Although, with the tax credits available and the energy return it is worth it - even that high.
