thanks for posting this. awesome. I mean..I've watched it like 5 times, but never said anything. The mozart part was hilarious. and those high notes. oh those high notes.
Thanks again for posting this. It's nice to watch an actual documentary versus just reading up on all of this stuff or something. And when you actually learn more about an instrument, it allows you to appreciate it just that much more =).
If Dennis Brain was alive, he would be doing what Barry Tuckwell's doing here. Barry Tuckwell's an inspiration of mine/ For example, when Jacqueline DuPre- a former cellist, suffered from multiple sclerosis, she was constantly giving lessons until when it was apparent that she became completely incapacitated.
I have the book written by Barry Tuckwell, I also hope that there are books written by the late Dennis Brain as well.. So what is Barry Tuckwell currently doing other than performing on the horn?
Yes thanks for posting! This was Barry Tuckwell on the South Bank show and I remember watching this one Sunday night when I was 12 had been playing the horn for about a year. The programme inspired me to stick with the horn and I was lucky enough to meet Barry in Edinburgh a few years later to thank him.
Thank you so much for posting these videos. It has been such a delight watching them, especially as I'm starting to play the french horn.
God willing, I'll bw able to play like that for his honor and glory.

This guy is my hero as well! I'll probably never get as good as him, but he's one of the reasons I kept playing and want to get better!
