  • @1:49 i observed he's got my same shoes (mine are black)

  • How to connect my tonelab to computer ... shall i do guitar/tonelab plug intro microphone on my comp or ?

  • @ivekyy You need a proper recording interface. You want to go line out to line input. Or, if your sound card has spdif inputs, the tonelab has an spdif conector.

  • You gotta use the CC caption of youtube to transcribe the audio... when he use the Univibe the guitar talk... literaly xD

  • less talking more playing please

  • [ ] Jason Spencer

    [ X ] Paul Kramer !!

    What do you think?!

  • does the amp have to be powered or can I plug it directly into a cabinet?

  • It has to be powered.

  • @RufusTheRuthless k thanks.

  • @Yamahaphone it is a pedal not an amp.

  • This guy beats the shit out of whammy.. although that's not too hard...

  • Anyone figure out if u can set a dotted 8th delay with the tap function? I have to set the ms with the bpm for now. Also, the rhythmic delay settings, there several modes but no explanation of each in the manual. Anyone with suggestions?

  • if u use a killer amplifier like these it s obviously .... u bypass the amp simulation and use real tube of the amp.......

  • anyone know what it sounds like through a1959 plexi ?

  • I've had the Tonelab LE for about a week now and have used it in a live performance. I gotta say I was very pleased just with some of the presets (AC Lead, AC driven, Comchorus, power blues, and some others) I have not even dug into making my own settings much, wah pedal, tremolo stuff, etc. I had the VT30 amp and liked it, just wasn't getting any use out of my fender twin reverb amp. Took VT30 back so i can use the tube amp. Tonelab sounds great through this amp! Much to learn about it still...

  • I used to take lessons from him. He would yell at you for not understanding something. Now I Got It Paul. All the modes and shapes lol

  • It makes Boss and Line 6 sound like toys. Sounds way superior to me. This beast will sound perfect through my Fender Hot Rod deluxe amp. At last, a guitar effects processor with a valve. Folk who purchased Boss and Line 6 must be crying. Tonelab kicks ass, fucking awesome sounds.

  • the most posotive thing about this is the way it feels .. its a very solid piece of metal.. and i guess if you look after it you will have your whole life... i would describe this a as a very faithfull work horse

  • does it have a powerful destortion?

  • trust me it has way more than you'll ever need :P

  • @98723123 it has, but i wouldn't recommend it for ...death metal ;-)

  • I think this is a pretty good demo. He may not be the best presenter out there, but in a short time he shows a lot of what the unit can do & quite a few preset sounds. I was particularly pleased to see some emphasis on clean & non-metal sounds - not all of us wanna record our own sweep-picking masterclass ;-))

  • I don't like this man. ;<

  • This doesn't seem to have the far-out sounds of the Boss ones, but the ones it have seem useful. Tough decision.

  • I have heard some good and bad from both. But this one to me is the best choice because when you turn off all the effects you still have a nice tone. I don't even like using effects any more unless they are during the mixing process. Most of these modelers have presets that sound better if you turn the reverb down or off. For some reason they think that you need that to be impressed.

  • I wish this guy spent more time going into the sounds and less time showing off the Page solo. Camera ham :)

  • its a halen solo.

  • Yeah, the beginning is. I'm talking about the solo at 4:45. But he does love to show his skills. :) I like the Virage. Like the AC30. Not sold on the tonelab though.

  • Which guitar is that??

  • its a vox go on there website and there on there

  • Vox Virage

  • can someone please tell me how the f**k i get a clean tone out of the Vox Tonelab LE? thats the only sound i cant find'-.-

  • Choose a clean amp setting like twin or Boutique CL. Think, Chorus, reverb, not distortion or overdrive, back off the guitar vol and turn up the master.

  • this is the spit of the korg as1500g

  • How do i assign banks? like if for the 1st bank i want to choose preset 6, then for the 2nd bank i want to choose present 19. i set them but when i change to one the other changes too. so if i change bank 1 to 6 bank 2 also change to 6 and didn't stay at 19. how do i stop that?

  • Is it possible to control the wah with the expression pedal on the Vox Tonelab LE?

  • yeah. you can. i should stress before you ask i don't own it. ive just read shitload of reviews cause im considering it and the boss me70 at the moment.

  • I own the Boss me 20 and if you are on a budget then the Boss me's are okay but otherwise, I would try this Vox or the line 6 POD (very nice non-digital sound). The me's are really digital sounding and aren't very accessible sort of speak, pretty good cleans and stuff but not good distortion/overdrive characteristics I don't recommend them but try it out yourself. characteristics. If you try the Vox tone lab let me know how it performed and the gear you used if you don't mind :)

  • you may have already decided , so if you did which one did you get? cause im in the same rut right now

  • do u need to use this through a tube amp?

  • nah solid state is fine

  • im using it through a solid state amp. though, it took me a half a year to learn how to use it properly with the amp.

  • teach me, im having some problems

  • can I connect a midi foot controller in this unit so that I control the sounds when I'm playing live? I mean only three patches per bank are not enough when playing live

  • Ah. I have only played with it into my half stack on low volumes. The sound is good, but things may change when it gets cranked up. I'll let you know next week after practice.

  • I just go tthe Boss GT-10. I'm so happy with it! The tones and distortions are more impressive than I could ever dream. The effects, you ask? Boss has always been the best IMO, but this is even better than I imagined. I have it plugged into Cool Edit Pro and I have to say I'm blown away by the quality of recordings I've made with the GT-10. Buy it!

  • would you recommend it for doing live shows?

    gigs and such?

  • Very Good Point... spacemonkeyzass

  • If I buy this, how often will I need to replace the tube?

  • You might never need to. It's a preamp tube, they tend to last a very very long time.

  • Does it have delay tap tempo w/ various tempo settings (dotted 8th note, etc)?

  • No doubt! If you want to show us how much this thing sounds like a real tube amp.. DON'T plug it into a friggin' TUBE AMP! LOL

    WTH?

Of course it's going to sound like the real thing if you have it plugged into the real thing. :S

Also, the effects sound odd. Like it overpowers the tone. I think I'll buy BOSS. :P

  • Comment removed

  • dude whats up with this guy and his freakin crapload of reverb in all his videos. -_-;;

  • sounds superb. Thanks for playing it into a tube amp...thats what I am most interested in. I thinking of this or the boss gt-10 to hopefully cure my compulsive gear acquisition syndrome.

  • do u have to use this with a vox amp?

  • no...

  • it does sound good i have one - but what's with the cheating here? he's mic'ing up a friggin vox amp!

  • give it some time, took maybe 10 hours learned it quite good. I have a lot of gigs, and it is the greatest thing that happened to me when i let go of my amplifier

  • This vox sound very similar to valve amp's...with boss you can hear digital'nes of the sound, this one very close to real thing>>

  • nice VOX

  • No gimmicks just the Tone Lab. He did all the Marshal stuff too but I was swayed by the Vox sounds. My Tome Lab gives me a lot of options I would have. $499 back then I think they are down to around $400 now. Any way try one. I tried em all & this one shined. Well TC Electronic is cool but now we're talking $1500.

  • I saw the Vox rep who is on UTube in other video's, (forgot his name.,, David?) Anyway when I met him at the local shop & saw all the sounds this baby could make, well I am poorer as I have purchased a fair amount of Vox stuff based on his Demo.

  • what its the price of this?

  • 400$

  • how much is the tone lab le?

  • 400$

  • I used the SE a lot at music college but never had the money to buy one, but I can get hold of an LE for £200 so I think I might

  • I am in 3 bands and i preform at least 3 times a week in front of a crowd of 300 or more and the le is the best thing that has ever happened in my life time of guitar playing.

  • For all you unbelivers, I gig with Axe, Great White, Bret Michaels and all I use is the LE straight through a Yamaha PA head in stereo using the soldano with gain @ 7 and 375ms of delay WAY in the back and a Morley wah. Every show people sit their pants after finding out the source of my tone....It's stadium baby no bullshit so instead of stirring up trouble carry your ass down to the store and plug one in!

You can google me and check out tunes on myspace

  • i loved how you put that!!

  • @BraxtonCurry yeah notice right after you said LE, you went on to say yamaha PA head in stereo with the soldano and a morley wah.... um okay? we are looking to hear the tonelab LE by itself, not souped up with nice PAs and what not. Not everybody has the shit you have.

  • @BraxtonCurry Nah i belive you man, this unit rocks massive,

  • I've got news for you Trollarama. That sound is in the ToneLab LE. It's a patch called "Eurupt" and I had a blast with it around 4am this morning. The EVH Brown sound as you call it, is not hard to get at all. Having the right Modulation effect is the key and a Marshall-type distortion. Back in the early 80's, every guitarist I knew was getting that sound.

However, playing Eddie's licks correctly is a whole other story.

  • I purchased a ToneLab LE and It sounds great on it's own going straight into my Mackie PA system.

Sure, you have to tweak the settings a little to match your setup (Guitar/Mixer)but, it sounds great.

    I'm a Full-Time Professional Musician with 24 years experience. I'm a die-hard Tube amp guy

from way back. I own a lot of nice gear.

I've always despised Modellers because they all sound like crap. (Especially the Line6 products)

The VOX ToneLab LE is for real and it sounds fantastic.

  • I just watched another video of Kramer demonstrating this board with a huge rack of other effects operating next to it!!! If he is unwilling to demo this unit without other effects and units to modify its sound, then something is wrong. Note no shots of the floow in front of him (just cut shots of the unit on close up). If he's misrepresenting what it's capable of doing alone, that should be illegal.

  • Let's be clear: we never conceal anything, whatsoever. There is no huge rack of other effects. There are no extra floor pedals. He's using a nice amp, nice guitar and a nice processor to produce what I would describe as a relatively average sound. (It's distortion with reverb, mic'd and going into a basic audio mixer.) The ToneLab is a great processor and Paul is a very educated and capable musician/technician, that's all. Thanks for the compliments but what you see is what you get.

  • dude really, wtf does it matter?

  • Love the "Rock N' Roll" setting sound : D

  • I just got mine 2day!

  • like maybe comp and distortion?

  • can use 2 efx at same time???

  • i meant can u use 2 pedal fx at the same time...

    for example: comp and distortion

  • really nice product demo

  • I had the SE-didn't care for it. Is this much better?

  • No because its on the same knob, I wish it did. Run it with a tube amp on clean and watch out! Sounds great.

  • i havee the tonelab LE and simply... i loveee it!!!! i usee it to play avenged sevenfold, tolidos, silverstein, andd anyuthing!!!

    thats trueee!

    buy ittt u wont disapointt

  • Is that the new Vox Virage guitar?

  • one of them, Yes

  • how much?

  • like 400 dollars

  • you got some nice tones from that
