Hey Angelo! Still have fond memories of the session we did for Eddie in Wolverhampton! U n me laying down about 14 tracks of BVs for 'Don't burn that bridge'. TNT on the session too. I just remember u being an island of cool whilst everything else was going on. Thanks for being inspirational and motivating, and introducing me to 'the motor'! dave lowe xx
Angelo, no number of video's on YouTube can really give people an idea of what a great singer and musician you are. What amazed me at Northampton was your professionalism as a musical director at the same time expressing such natural musicality. One minute belting out soulful vocals, the next multi-instrument playing with terrific feeling, at the same time leading the band. Angelo, will you be taking part in any way at the Impressions weekender, either with your band or simply as a guest?
Saw Angelo and the team live @ Hunstanton good but not as good as Edwin but credit to them for keeping his name and his music alive. Keep the faith.............
well done, this is pretty joyful and pleasureable to listen and dance to. i think you understand what soul music is. peace! would like to go to a night with you djing, reckon it would be fun!
Hi, I'm Søren from Denmark. I hope that people who like this music will join up to receive "Reaching For The Best - The IAN LEVINE Newsletter". I'm doing a regular e-mail newsletter for people who are fans of Ian Levine's music, just like myself. If you too are a genuine fan of his productions, and you love seeing these videos, then send me a message with your e-mail address and I'll add you to the list. It's all free, it's with Ian's full co-operation, so please join in!
Thankyou so much. Please go look at the trailer to the album, as he sings a second song on the trailer. Click on my name, Ian Levine, and my page will come up, and the trailer is the first video on it, larger than the others.
Hmmmm ... the song has overtones of 'I Have faith In You', but a while ago I heard some unreleased Motown backing tracks on a tape that sounded a lot like this songs ripping beat. It doesn't make much difference - its still a great song!
That's truly flattering because my intention was to make it sound as authentic as possible and it obviously worked. I assure you it has nothing to do with any Motown backing track whatsoever.
Ian the artists you put out there are truly brilliant - just got my copy of Ebony Alleyne's album and can't wait for the Northern soul album to come out! Angelo really sounds like Edwin, its like hearing him all over again! Edwin was such a great guy, he used to come to Rochester in Kent (my home twon) every year until he passed and is sorely missed... Debz
... a great song with just a shade of Mr. Hatcher's "Way Over There" at the opening, and echoes of Mr Starr throughout. But, a splendid way to get some soul music to the ears of a new generation.
Sir, can I play this from the YouTube stream on my Radio Show this Sunday? The show is called DooWop2Soul - it airs 5-7 pm EST U.S. (also streams on the net) through WSLR-LPFM 96.5 FM, Sarasota, FL
Listening to this stuff for first time great to hear some new original stuff this is way to take northern to a new generation..great way to spend my Friday night cant wait to buy album and dance round my kitchen.
The similarity to Edwin Starr is amazing! This song has everything a classic soul record should have and deserves to become just as great as "Solid Ground".
Hey Angelo.. Cool track!
Hope to see you down the bar again soon dude!
