  • you know that little thing Americans are known for.... straight lines as other countries criticize...drag racing... which is only competitive in manual cars. Choose one insult or the other please.. thank you

  • I didn't know that Americans can drive car with manual transmission... lol

  • @JEBACHA haha being an american its a dying breed. VERY few teens know now, its sad really.

  • @The70srockfan

Really ??? Didn't know... I have a plenty of American friends and nobody of them cant drive manual... Here, in Europe, exactly in Serbia, 90% are manuals...

  • @JEBACHA i don't get how Americans cant drive manual transmissions. there so easy to drive

  • @TheSteelBlinds i dont get how idiots like you dont know the difference between they're and there.

  • @Brawer23 well im not in school so i dont give a flying fuck

  • @JEBACHA Here's the problem ... folks move here from all over the world ... from place where everyone knows how to drive a car with a manual transmission. Once they get here, they get lazy and forget how to drive a manual. :) Maybe it happens in the second generation, I dunno ...

That said, I'm doing my part to help bring the manual back. Everyone can drive a manual in my family, except my daughter ... and she wants to learn.

  • @mpgomatic

I know, i was kiddin' when I said that... Actually am from Europe and we only drive manual which is better :)

So, I hope your daughter will learn it soon!

  • @JEBACHA Thanks! :) It's all good!

  • @JEBACHA hey now. My first car was a 69 Buick and I demanded it be manual. I'm helping my dad restore a 68 and I can't tell you how many times I asked him to make it manual even though he ended up going with an auto :-/

  • @snowman4839

Aha, sorry then! I have a lot of American friends laughing at me cuz I drive manual... lol

  • @JEBACHA Started driving at 5 y/o.. started driving a manual at 9.. But I grew up on a farm so I had opportunities that most don't.

  • awesome, thats the same v6 in my dads Saturn Aura XR, except the camaro's compression ration is bumped up to 11.4:1. Gotta love GM for engines like the 3600 and 3800

  • any car that cant hit60 in1 or 2gear is slo

  • @CearaQC Give me ONE car that can hit 60 in first gear

  • @idrivetardis

Corvette ZR1 can touch with skills the 120 kmh hurddurrr .)

  • @idrivetardis corvette

  • @idrivetardis corvette z06, zr1

  • @idrivetardis 2009 Chevy Impala lol

  • @amdrewi Yeah they do! The SS Impalas With the 5.3 do it pretty quick too!

  • @idrivetardis watch?v=WI5x1647WsM

  • @idrivetardis Corvette ZO6, ZR1 and possibly the C6RS

  • the SS is supost to be a 5 sec. car 0-60 not sure about the v6 inless u got engine mods.

  • the v6s are NOT manual. they are autos with the option of manual and slap shift on the steering wheel, whith NO clutch.....

  • @Kamakaze04 The v6 comes standard with a 6 manual transmission. Most poeople opt for the automatic with a manual mode, but they do come with 6 speed manuals.

  • @Motorfordtoyota U are right !!! i thought only the ss (v8) could have the manual trans. my bad !

  • @Kamakaze04 hahahaha, ok.

  • Glad I got the Challenger.

  • 5.9 seconds!

  • Just a quick question??? Does the V6 manual come with LSD? I have heard that the manual does and the automatic doesn't. Just wondering. Thanks!!

  • whats the point of the V8 then lol

  • Check out that weak take off and weak shifts. Look at how his tach goes down at takeoff. That tach shoud be climbing and he should have chirped the tires going into second. I chirp the tires in my V6 Camaro going into second and not even under full throttle sometimes.

  • Driver Error...

  • hey you got low psi

  • Hmmm 3800 v6 is all cast iron. I've owned rebuilt both style engines. And pushrod engines make torque at low rpm where dohc is high which is unptacticle. You know nothing but what's on paper honda boy

  • Hey I'm no dummy I know modular engines also come with chains. Your the

  • 6.2 secs? In a 3.6L V6? Haha learn how to make engines, America.

Give Nissan a 3.5L V6 and they will make a car do 5.6s to 60.

  • @V6POWA yeah, and they'll charge you nearly $15k more when they do.

  • @syjeklye

$15,000 more for a Nissan than a Mustang? Haha

  • @V6POWA you know this is a camaro video right? and yes; you can get a 2011 v6 camaro for ~$23k where as a new 2011 370z is $37.5k. Which is about $14k. Sorry I exaggerated by $1,000. I hope if you spend 14 grand more on a car it will be faster by .4 seconds.

  • @syjeklye

Why pick the 370z? The 350z is still faster than this. Pretty sure a 350z goes for $23-25,000. ;-)

  • @syjeklye I love how you use the cheapest possible camaro and the most expensive Z...for your info, the Nissan starts at under 30K.

  • @syjeklye the 370z starts at 29K not 37 retard plus the camaro is a sporty car where as the z is a hard edged sports car not a big coupe based on the same chassis as a holden monaro

  • @mtwigs9 You are right. It doesn't start at 37k. It does, however; start at $30,610. It also has a bigger 3.7 Liter engine that makes more horsepower than the Camaro. BUT, you can get the 1SS Camaro with a 6.2 V8 starting at $30,945. So at the same Price point, the Camaro smashed the crap out of the 370z. As for the chassis, it's loosely based on the Manaro, but it's modified and called the global rear-wheel chassis. But who cares? The Manaro and Commadore are amazing.

  • dohc gives a buzzy junky driving experience anyway. now the ss is nice. its a cam in block motor. the world has given in to auto companies, making them believe that new technology is needed. the want you to buy DOHC so you have to take that junker in for more repairs. timing belts ect. ...this car all aluminum engine. garbage. lets pop hood and hear fucking sweeper. i call them dirt devil as they buzzzz like a sweeper. and yes i have friends with 3.6

  • @MIketucky350 New technology IS needed, you dummy. All smaller engines like 4 and 6 cylinders NEED a dohc layout to make decent power. Pushrod only works for V8's because of their large displacement, where they still make decent power. Otherwise no V6 would make 300+hp with pushrods.

Also, there are many dohc engines with timing chains and not belts. And aren't most GM LS engines all-aluminum? Dohc has nothing to do with anything you're talking about. A bad engine is a bad engine...

  • no faster than auto. auctually slower cause he cant shift

  • @MIketucky350 Manual was faster but okay, and yes average shifting. Personally if I was doing a 0-60 I would power shift =] But no idea who's car this is, or how he gets a hold of them lol.

  • @wolf1010 very true the problem is its the new junk DOCH 3.6 . those type motors dont make power till very high rpm. they rate more hp than the 3800 series 2 but they dont make that power in real world driving. and auctually my series2 olds 88 1995. and buddies 95 camero 5sp. are way quicker and make instant off idle power.

  • My dad's 09' FWD Accord V6 is faster than this thing. And the challenger is even worse! Americans need to loose weight and so do our cars!

  • with 300 hp, are they sure this car can go up to 160...

  • @coolgames14 it should...my 97 cobra had 305 hp and 300 lbs of tq and it would do 160 with a 5 speed...it weighed 3400 lbs....this car is probably at least 3700 or so even witha v6...maybe 3800 or more but I'd say it can still hit 160.

  • @midnight347 cobra are cool but they discontinued it due to the gt-500 :(

  • @coolgames14 I think the Shelby GT500 is considered the Cobra these days even though it may not say it on the car. It's made by SVT, and it has that cobra badge on the grill, after all.

  • my v6 is way faster than that and mine is stock

  • Manual faster

  • Manual Transmissions smoke Automatics....Faster Acceleration,Better Gas Milage and Fun too.

  • @form109 not new automatics, better mpg, and some even come with the optional shift paddles which shift wayyyy faster than humanly possible.

  • @ThePolskamafia4 Maybe, but you don't get the same satisfaction pushing a paddle as you do a perfect manual shift

  • @ThePolskamafia4 yeah but you loose an extra 10% power through the tq converter....... thats why clutch has proven it self better always......

  • @ThePolskamafia4 actually automatics dont get better mileage than manuals. i dont know what youre talking about. in some cars, automatics get a smaller engine, so i guess that would give them better mileage, but that would make them even slower.

  • @pepene93 so they do get better mileage?... you just agreed with something you dissagreed with.. lol:)

  • @Hairyhole1 they do *in some situations*, but not because theyre automatic. you would get even better mileage if you got the engine meant for an automatic car in a manual.

  • do you know how much HP, and Tourqe? Thanks :)

  • @Ijellop 314hp and like 276 or 278 tourqe i think

  • You guys counting seconds in ur heads or using a stop watch while watching the video is gonna give u an extremely inaccurate time lol

  • The push-rod V8 sounds better than the high tech V6. I can't wait to see what a direct-injection LS motor would be like. You know that thing would be a beast. I imagine the injectors would be located inside the heads or on the intake manifold side of the head under the plenum. It is actually in production and will be the next generation small block from GM. No specific design details are available. I hope it is pushrod.

  • 6.73 seconds

     fast

  • Pretty fast, IMHO. I think the majority of people will be happy with the 6! I would be. More than enough power to get into trouble ;)

  • should of gotten a v8 :P 426 HP ftw

  • it looked almost a full sec faster than the auto. This was 6.0 flat while the auto you tested took about 7

  • If you shift faster and shift at the right rpm, you can get 0-60 in 5.7 sec. in that car.. :)

  • shit, that sounds allot like my 1989 taurus sho goin through the gears, plus similar in speed

  • I got a 6.6 second 0 to 60 time watching this video. Not bad. I wonder if after market kits for turbos/super chargers will become available for this engine? Might be interesting.

  • how the heck does that camera stay so still?... I bet you taped it to the wheel

  • @maddawgzzzz A little bit of Magic and a bunch of Rigs. =)

  • faster then the automatic

    0-60 for automatic - 6.7

    0-60 for manual - 6.4

  • if you shift faster and shift at the right rpm, you can get 0-60 in 5.7 sec in that car..

  • is this the lt or 2lt and do u know the top speed?

  • @Mudvayne2010 top speed is 146mph

  • i thought this v6 was supposed to be a 5 second car.

  • @aobb223 With tweaks and the right driver, it could easily drop into the fives.

  • @mpgomatic - no way possible. 5's with that heavy engine? V6? hahahahaha!!!!!

  • @mpgomatic Faster shifts might help significantly. No offense but ive slammed gears harder in a chevy s-10.

  • @mpgomatic why can't it be five in the first place just like the other cars

  • @aobb223 Maybe if it was european...but the camaro is just to big and heavy. Pretty sad when a V6 Camry can match this 0-60 time.

  • @patientx77 but then ur stuck driving a camry lol

  • @02lb72500HD True, luckily I don't drive a Camry...it was more an observation.

  • @patientx77 ya i no wat u mean.

  • @aobb223 its lol its like a 14-15 second car wtf are you talking about?

  • @oAToMiCx 5 seconds as in 0-60???

  • @aobb223 yah but if your goign to refer a car that goes 0-60 in 5 seconds you cant use it like that due to the fact that its mostly used as in drag races like lets the supras are 13 second cars as are mustangs and camaros and each of those have 0-60s in the 5 second range but its whatever it doesnt matter say it how you want no use in starting a fight over this on youtube its just immature.

  • @oAToMiCx lol yea man im too old for that petty shit

  • How can you drive stick, the steering wheel, and hold the camera so still all at the same time?

    Please, tell me your secret.

  • @BKofficer23 - That's easy. I'm not holding the camera. =)

  • @mpgomatic Did you like, tape the camera to the wheel or something?

  • @BKofficer23 - Uh, nope. I use a bunch of different rigs.

  • Nice, so u did get the manual Camaro lol.

  • pretty sad that my 02 maxima 6 speed is faster than this 2010 camaro v6 6 speed

  • not bad, 0-60: 6.7 sec

  • Mustangs now are ugly as hell.

  • @hondarider100r The 2005-2009 design was so much better.

  • Love my V6 Cyber Gray RS. SO much fun to drive!

  • i really want one for my first car, god i hope i can afford it

  • Approximately half a second faster then the automatic, if not, more.

Ahhh.... one of many reasons why manual transmissions rule

  • The manual V6 Camaro is much more entertaining than the automatic. There's a ton of potential in this platform, just waiting to be tapped.

  • Have fun in traffic.

  • I'll drive manuals until I can't drive 'em no mo ... =)

  • @cowsgonemadd3 manuals can be easier in traffic, instant response in first gear means you can stay on the person in front of you and keep from getting cut off. and how can anyone say its "hard" to push a little pedal down with your leg?

  • @pballer2005 if only we lived in a world where the only way to prevent getting cut off wasn't tailgating.

  • my 1993 z28with a lt1 ripped a 350Z and i dont have much done to it just clearing that one up. He had stick i have auto witha a shift kit and i had him by 6 car lengths by 70 mph and i went up to about 110 rofl my waffles kid. k thx

  • @SuperManBearPig456. Yeah...and you show me how many V6 cars priced in the mid 20's can get 0 - 60 in 6 seconds or less.

  • thats all ?!

  • You guys don't know how to time 0-60 videos. As soon as you hear the sound of him crushing the pedal is the time you start it. And given the angle, stop at about 58mhp. So I timed about 6.2 - 6.4 =]

  • Uhhh its called pre loading..... you dont start untill the needle moves.... he revs it to get a better start.... no moving so yea its less then that....

  • coldone- drives a 1990 civic and still pist he never finished school.

    USA V8,s RULE.

  • actually this video shows roughly 5.9 - 6.0 secs.

And to clarify, a 350Z does is it under 5.6

  • why sooo slow?? 6-speed manual with 300hp 350z does 0-60 in 5.7, not in seven like this slowpoke

  • Eh, dont these big heavy cars like Camaro, Mustang, Challenger, Charger all need the V8 engines to make them any fast?

I think there should be a 4L+ V8 option for this camaro im sure, as the challenger and mustangs all got those as their high end engines (its all the same american shit, the engines and chassis' are practically cross-used between these brands). But the top V8 mustangs get into the 5sec range.

  • @ Cold0ne.... What?? No disrespect, but make sure you know what your talking about before you comment. There are two V8 options available for the Camaro..and what the heck are you talking bout when you say all the chassis' are shared between brands? They are completely different! Once again...think before you speak

  • whatever, same basic heavy square look, mustang, camaro, charger, challenger.... all the same american heavy shit to me ;p

  • @Cold0ne 6.2L V8 SS does it in 4.9s

  • @mikez10288 No. lol My SS is at 4.4 with just a ADM cold air intake. Who ever said 4.9? Sounds like a Challenger SRT8's time.

  • You also have to figure in the Ft. lbs. and torque curve of the 350Z engine which is where the 0-60 makes the difference. the HP. has more to do with how high you can rev the engine once you start winding out 3rd. and 4th gear

  • so the torque camaro's engine produces is too low to accelerate such heavy car? 350z is lighter, that's why it's much faster?

  • Yep, the Z is lighter and the power and torque curves are different. It's just a faster car all around, but more expensive.

  • well, i really like this newer 3.6L v6, but i'd have to say that the 3.8L sounded wayyy better. what do you think?

  • I like the older 5.7litre v8!

  • yeah, i do too lol, id much rather have the V8 myself, especially an LS1 in WS6 or SS

  • fuk yea i love them ws6 !

  • I got 6.1 seconds...that's quick for a 3800lb v6 car

  • Not bad, could be faster for a 3.6L RWD manual..

  • I have a hunch that it would perk up with some weight loss and a few bolt-ons ...=)

  • Intake, maybe exhaust, take out the passenger seat + rear seats and your good to go :)

  • concept camaro never end, classic

  • Cant wait for the v6 mustang, should be even faster if they keep the weight down for the 2011, don't see why the weight would go up but I'm just making sure.

  • The 2011 Mustangs will make things very interesting, no doubt about that.

  • Amen

  • Cant wait for the review!

  • thats respectable for 30mpg

  • nice sounding v6

  • first reply!!! no one cares

  • haha i know its just that ive never been the first to comment
