dude im related to john dryden we run down an acient line of blood we Drydens are as ancient as the druids and as fierce as a gryphon, you should she our call to arms. we are an ancient scottish race of pictish-scottsman. Killers of britishman, they were so scared of us they built a wall to keep up from slaughtering them! i love my family history!
@warcraftDominater It seems that a few of the clan have not taken Johns Poem of St Cecilia very seriously. For if music shall untune the sky perhaps it will also bring a little civility in thee
@warcraftDominater hey there. I, too, am related to John Dryden, and its true we run an ancient line of blood, and there are still today Druids in the family, but we never came from OVER the border, Roxburgh was as far north as it gets. Hail cousin.
This is an excelent poem by Dryden, its is truly a display of hability in how to use language in order to imitate the sounds of the instruments mentioned in it; and even thou Jan Francis' voice is nice, I think she is not reading with enough emotion, and I believe, that, might be affecting her reciting of the poem in a way that it doesn't sound much like reciting a poem but more like just reading it.
I will admit you are right, sometimes we have to book actors that have come from popular TV shows and how ever hard we try.... they don't quite get it .Now Stella Gonet or Eleanor Bron do every poem a treat .try them -put their names into my videos search.

But then again it is just my opinion.

Jan Francis' voice is gentle, animated, and pleasant. This is a lovely poem.
