Im against rolling the male end first. Everyone says, "you got to protect the threads" easy enough to understand right? Well when you unrole a section of hose it typically will fling at the end sending the male end crashing to the ground. Now if you role the female end first ending with the male, when it comes time to unroll your hose you have complete control over the male end where the threads are. Make sense?
