  • Her form used to be so good..

  • @mortella23 Yes, I hope she'll get her 2008 back for 2012

  • It does annoy me when Elfie or Tim Dagget ask in wonderment where the judges get ANY deductions on the Chinese just as they muscle up those kips and give themselves a 5/10 deduction. Come on.

  • @strongbad635 My theory is that, typically, the Chinese girls don't have big asses like the American girls. Similar to a pendulum missing a big weight at the bottom, it's hard to gain enough momentum to swing through and arrive in a front support position during low to high bar transitions. Simple physics really.

  • If she'd of made finals; Komova would've found it a lot harder to get a gold medal.

  • The Chinese women have always seemed to have issues transitioning to the high bar. Perhaps because of their small stature and more slender arms, they almost all catch the high bar in virtually a dead hang, and then have to muscle that kip up to the handstand. It's been a weak area for them on bars for years and very few have escaped deductions there (Liu Xuan and Zhang Nan being two). It just so happened this time that, perhaps as a result of falling, He just couldn't muscle up that kip. Sad.

  • @strongbad635 australians hv tht same problem too actually

  • @strongbad635 But it's weird because their Tkatchev's are so high! It looks like they want to grab the high bar after shooting in almost a straight line. When you see the Americans (for example) doing the shoot to high bar, they really shoot up first, and then turn a quarter in the air. It looks like it never could go wrong for them, like they have a lot of room for error, and still being able to make it... I don't understand why the Chinese would have trouble with it.

  • Oy, now I see why they took her out for the team finals. Falling on a layout jaeger is one thing but missing a kip after a simple transition is inexcusable. Poor kid.

  • This routine is just too difficult for her, she's not the same He Kexin of 08. Her Li Ya + Jaeger, dismount and pirouetting is still good, but that layout jaeger and upshoot have given her so much trouble, she'd only lose .1 to change it to piked (which would give her more stamina), and if she can learn a new transition she should... She's got the goods, she just needs a routine that suits her a little better. You can't expect the same work from her given how her body's changed...

  • @bernardmvella if she changes layout yaguer by picked yaguer she misses conection value, in total 0.2, more 0.1 you say, = 0.3

  • He reeked it up, boo:(

  • well..honestly he kexin doesnt hv dead hangs all the time, it usually happens when she's not doing well. i'd say she didnt perform her best routine in the olympics EF, but she still deserves her gold. or even maybe yang yilin is kinda underscored. i dont think nastia did very well either, at least not her best...so...very controversial. no offense to anyone, but i like to see he kexin took gold. i mean..at least nastia got her AA champ.

  • @aps010154 I think Yilin shoulda taken gold really because Kexin does all the crazy moves and stuff but her basic technique isn't great...have you noticed that her shoulder angle when she transfers to low bar? I'm surprised she doesn't fly right off tbh.

  • @unevercalled Yilin wasn't at 2011 Worlds.

  • Comment removed

  • @bikerOGX I thought we were talking bout 08 Olympics :S

  • @unevercalled I agree that Yilin should have taken gold over Kexin and Nastia then.

  • She's had the same problems with this routine for years-- low catch on the second Jaeger, missing the layout, terrible low to high bar work, and those awful kips. It's foolish for the coaches to not change it. Unless they overhaul the routine, He's done.

  • @kpenda She could always defect to the U.S. and be our number one option on bars...

  • nice of the coach to lift her back up

  • I like He Kexin, she's not my favourite by any stretch of the imagination because I think she lacks polish and refinement in her routine. Unlike Yang Yilin whom I much prefer, she doesn't seem to be a perfectionist. She can do all these cool tricks which is great and sets her apart but to be more sucessful she should work on consolidating the basics. I wish she had made it to the EF :(

  • It's a shame she fell. She has one of the most interesting bar routines.

  • She shouldn't concentrate sooo much on difficulty over the others, that she isn't going to change her bars set to a simpler one. If she doesn't get it done by next year, she will hardly top-off her title... She is definitely not my favorite bar worker, but as a Chinese, I will still wish the best for her.

  • If the ability to do a kip makes you better than He Kexin, then my ability to keep my legs together makes me better than Nastia Liukin. Keeping your legs together is a level 0 gymnastics skill.

  • @bikerOGX that's hilarious xD

  • Interesting way to get back on the bar...

  • She definitely has the tricks and the amplitude on all of them, but lacks the beautiful hollow body, flowing motion, and effortless flow that is essential to being a beautiful bar worker, like Nastia and Komova. And I have never seen a gymnast at this level who can NOT do an uphill! That is a level 9 skill for heaven's sake! She is at a dead hang when she does it, both here and at the Olympics too!

  • D: He was one of my favorite bar workers , Dont Give Up ! :D

  • Personally I feel bad for her, her major growth spurt has really affected her bar work.

  • I'm so sorry for her. hopefully she can perform at her best in team final

  • She had a huge dead hang, it's not that she can't kip.

  • I can't believe she missed a kip. Thats a level 5 skill that 7 year olds compete!

  • Q 80th

    6.700, 6.033

    12.733

that's all China uses her for, and she messed it up...

  • i admire her going for the skill again, and catching it. good for her!

  • D:

  • T T

  • Hopefully China will pay attention to what happened at 1:20 and fix that. Shame about the fall.

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012 they will never pay attention at what happened at 1:20

i'm so sick of routing for them when they can't even do a proper toe-shoot transition without losing 0.5 or more like here. I can do a toe-shoot and i'm just a whatever gymnast

  • @lepetitpoulet She has done good toe shoots before.

  • @AndromedaAiken I know she has (JYY too)! That makes it more annoying when she doesn't

  • @lepetitpoulet Yes. JYY has more good toe shoots to the HB instead of Kexin actually...from what I've seen anyway ^_^.

  • @lepetitpoulet Haha well that's good. I wish I could. It's really pathetic. And I'm sick of the "they are short" arguments. Komova never had a problem when she was 4'8". Same for Johnson. And even Mai Murakami has good shoots!

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012 God, do I get sick of that same argument. It's ridiculous. They've had this issue for YEARS and it's finally starting to bite them in the ass. I'm really sorry that Kexin is paying the price, but I'm glad that the Chinese team is having to deal with the consequences of bad kips and horrible transitions. What happened to the era of Bi Wenjing and Mo Huilan?

  • @QueenieQue Mo's clear hip shoot was soooo beautiful. I miss their bars. Ever since they've done away with compulsories, the Chinese kips have gone to crap.

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012 So true. And I've been sick of watching it deteriorate through the years. Maybe they'll finally have the impetus to change it now.

  • @QueenieQue We can only pray.
