Sweet was on par with, if not a cut above, the rest in '75-76...but for some reason they never achieved their potential. Brian Connolly's problems are well documented; that may be the major reason why. KISS, Aerosmith, Thin Lizzy...maybe that's why. Anyway, of all the cover versions of this song I have heard, this is the best. And maybe that's because Ace doesn't try to sound like Sweet, even though he says people used to think that was him singing.
sweet originally recorded this song in the 70's and it was a hit...Ace did it some justice also, I hope it's a hit for him..he did an excellant job here..

Bands like the Sweet and the New York Dolls made KISS look like a pathetic joke...but Ace's solo career has been pretty consistently good since 1978.
His cover of "New York Groove" was just a TAD better, though....
