  • My grandpa got this, found out just after Christmas from coughing lots and past away in may

  • That's not enough! We demand more asbestos! More asbestos! More asbestos!

  • I assume when the twin towers collapsed, the dust particles spread throughout many nearby streets where people were present. The risk of asbestos was there.

  • In the UK, someone dies of asbestos related disease (mesothelioma) every 5 hours. Annually that is over 2000 deaths!

  • really scary

  • Canada exports this poison to India and other poor countries, while banning it from use within Canada. Hypocritical greedy killers.

  • En Chile el problema del asbesto ya ha matado a 300 personas. La Industria de Pizarreño aun no se hace cargo.

  • at least it keeps the rats out

  • hello :) can the body digest asbestos if it is only a little that you have inhaled ? i have cleaned several whole roofs wich was asbestos , pretty big roofs and i know i have inhaled quite a bit of the stuff ... iva also cut in it and inhaled without mask thank you

  • My grandad, great grandad and great great grandad died from it. :-(

  • use gas masks

  • the world trade center towers had tons of asbestos in them, all that dust that came after the towers felt was asbestos, you get diagnosed with lung cancer after 10 years of inhaling asbestos,i know that bc i am an insulation worker and i know how it looks like, you need to be certified in order to remove asbestos,a simple dusk mast wont protect you at all

  • Well great, I as a plumber came 4-5 times in contact with asbestos, my coworker had to remove some Eternit pipes and he always cuts them and smashed them whilst Im working in the same room, now im concerned if I might get mesothelioma or asbestosis because of his actions. He always told me it only contains 10% asbestos and is binded with cement it will be dangerous if you work with it for many periods of times, say months. but Im still concerned about the effects. :/ asbestos is still asbestos

  • my cars full of that lol

  • Wow this is definately a wake up call. It's probably a little late though concidering that my A/C Heating circulation ducts are lined with asbestos. When we renovated it, we never took it out, just covered it with fiberglass.

  • any1 have any info about stipple ceilings done in the 70s in ireland. is there a good chance that the ceiling contains asbestos.

  • i dno why i watched that scary

  • I was exposed to it heavily today during renovations and I was unaware it was asbestos, so how fucked am I really? Hahahaha

  • Why do they make it in fibers instead of a more solid form..

  • @darktreason they don't make it, its a mineral that naturally forms in that state.

  • damn

  • There is only so much you can do to avoid this stuff. Just don't do anything stupid and enjoy everyday like it's your last day.

  • do all people who were exposed to asbestos eventualy get this?

  • @straightupmenace No, they would have been exposed to a sizable amount. While no amount is "safe" most of us have been exposed to it in our lives. It's naturally occurring.

  • @straightupmenace

No, this video is actually pretty harsh about it. Short exposures of high amounts and long exposures of small amounts isn't harmful entirely. Eventually your lungs with cover up the particles inhaled, however, very long exposure to asbestos will cause the lungs to continue to cover up and eventually become smaller, and have more scar tissue. This is when real problems begin occuring.

  • real christian remove asbestos with vacuum cleaner.

God protect, god can heal you

  • why the fuck do you make this in the first place! you knew about the dangers you sick fucks it's all about profit! profit and control from the product, the illnesses associated, the removal and even these 'informative videos' disgusting paradigm fuck you all

  • @omid11 it's a naturally occurring mineral, not man made! It was used in housing decades ago because people weren't as aware of the health problems, and at face-value, asbestos is very useful since it doesn't burn. We're only aware of the issues now since so many people exposed to it have died due of mesothelioma, where one single fibre gets caught in the lungs and cancer grows from it. Just don't go anywhere near old buildings being renovated whatever you do.

  • If you need more information on asbestos try this website asbestosattorney.eu

  • do you think that building is properly sealed? i don't know, if you live in a old city with a lot of dilapidated buildings, then there is no doubt that you have been exposed in some shape or form. they used to even put it in brake pads and linings. there's no doubt that i have been exposed, but what can you do about it? you can't live in a bubble. just try to minimize the effects. that's all you can do - if you find this stuff in your home call professionals to remove it.

  • ohh!!! dammit ,. me and my dad working on the attic and we saw those foam color pink ,,is that asbestos?? cause we install it on the roof and i inhale some, it makes me cough !! ohhhh,., we moved here and found the attic without the insulation ,maybe they removed those because its hazardous but

now were installing it because we want to use the attic!!

im i going to die and those are itchy ,.is that asbestos!!

    damn im scared

  • @theoldstylefailures

    no it's fiberglass insulation

ppl stop using asbestos in homes during the 80's

  • Asbestos, im making muffins asbestos as i can hahaha..........

  • tankyou

  • ive just done the p 402 corse at sundeland ime hopefull gona do my bit to save some lives

  • Interesting that Worksafe would publish such a video after receiving a stack of claims from Van Drydock workers, for being continuously exposed to asbestos on several ferry refits. Btw, Worksafe is changing their policy to cover only those who have suffered exposure for more than 5 years. In other words, they'll cover me, but not the guy working beside me!

  • this asbesto's stuff is it also in dust around the home, when u don't clean for a while, is it in sheds, cupboards, public transport

this sounds like scary shit man, i wasnt even aware of this till someone mentioned the other week to me

  • @butterflystyler83 asbestos is a natural forming mineral in the earths crust. They mine it because it is pretty much like a rock except you can split it up like string cheese and thats where you get it.. Normal house hold dust is not the same. I work for a company that cleans this stuff out of schools, churches and homes.

  • This is fucking scary shit

  • i inhaled talc with my freinds as a dare is it going to kill me?

  • @deighton200 No, inhaling talk won't kill you, but I wouldn't advise making a habit of it!... only industrial talc has been found to contain asbestos... and even then only very minor amounts.

  • @deighton200 no talc wont kill but if you inhaled loads of it it might give you breathing problems but it wont kill you

  • well...i guess its too late for me -__-

i drilled a hole in my roof and all this weird stuff just fell out like snow. and there particles were flying around everywhere, they stayed in the air for ages, i tried not to breath but i guess i was breathing as i was drilling so...

    i hope it wasnt asbestos....

  • @darklordofspawn even if it was, your not a walking dead man:) most people of the last generation were subjected to asbestos atleast once. doesnt mean your gonna die.

  • Most houses here have asbestos roofs. Luckily I live in a clay roof house

  • I have a resperator designed for working in asbestos enviorments.

  • nice video

  • thanks for the video!

  • I breathed quite a bit in but i read that it is not dangerous if inhaled once

  • It is dangerous! Asbestos can't escape the lungs once inhaled!

  • Actually, not all asbestos is equal. First, it must be friable. Most asbo tile releases such small amounts (upon removal) that you would find high fiber counts in a major downtown street. It is the small, respirable fibers that have the potential to reach deep lung tissue. Obviously, it helps to know your shit if you are in the renovation biz. Personally, I am in the business of removing asbo, as well as structural demo. I pretty much wear a respirator and poopy suit 8-12 hrs of the day.

  • @sincityfire Even once?

  • @sincityfire

Not entirely true. Your body can remove some of them. If one particle of asbestos was so very dangerous, everyone would be dead. it is naturally occurring. The danger is breathing in large amounts of over years. That is why most fatalities center around asbestos production, ship building, construction and so forth.

Still wear a 20 dollar respirator with a HEPA filter. Cheap paint masks will do nothing.

  • @1nazchan i have cut fibroboard before, from a construction building before 1984 after that date, absestos was not used in production, however the one i was cutting did, i mean we will just have to wait 30 years to see what happens right?

  • it is like the russian roulette, You may also outlive it.

They even say that if the fiber was big enough and didn't attach to the soft tissue of your lungs the lung sistem may remove it and you'r safe.

    But neverless, avoid asbestos.

here many people worked with asbestos, (belgium land of asbestos) uncluding me gope i get to be 75 over 43 years from now.

  • thanx for the video

  • scary stuff, make sure you wear a particle mask when working with asbestos.

  • @ilopol Shouldn't Use It At All

  • @ilopol

You'll want more than a mask.

  • @ilopol Best of not working with asbestos at all

  • @ilopol Make sure not to work with asbestos if possible.

  • @ilopol hell use a hazmat suit!

  • thats kinda scary

  • how much do you have to breath in?

  • scary

  • Comment removed

  • And Canada still exports it.

  • woww great video.

  • oh fuck, i have tryed that he do at 0:41 for years ago. i can die later of it

  • If scar tissue forms in the lungs, I imagine you'd start getting gradually building chest pains until you die. :P

  • Great information on asbestos.

  • Can remain in the lungs for long periods? Well, how long?

  • 20 to 30 years

  • For ever,it is ireversable
