@jj1nine One other note. The failed loan policy was instituted under Clinton ( i.e. giving loans to people that couldn't afford to pay them back). Obama's solution was to pay off the loan companies so the CEO's could give themselves million dollar bonuses while the poor still were foreclosed on. And the stimulus money? built golf courses for them to play on and taught African males in African how to wash after sex so they don't contract aids (look it up if you don't believe me). Obama owns it.
@WagAdom Clinton's Loan policy was to get people in homes which worked but what should've happened in the years afterwards were regulations on banks to help keep people in homes and middleclass incomes should have risen, which they did not.

@2010GOP The beginning of the recession was in 2001 when GWB deregulated the national treasury, this enabled people like the Leman brothers to open up shop, borrow against the treasury to lend to people that had no right borrowing the money. Thus the defaults happen in record numbers in 2007 after enough of these mortgages have been handed out and defaulted. The rest of the world is dragged down by buying these mortgages in terms of securities sold to them by assholes like Leman Bros.

What bothers me now is that most people I know who are liberals actually DON'T seek better understanding of the issues. They see an issue and think they know best how to fix it without any economic or historical knowledge. It's dangerous.

@WagAdom There was a demo majority Bush's last 2 years, but bush had veto & filibuster power, so they did not pass substantial financial reform & no one saw the crash coming. There should've been stronger oversight, nonetheless it was still a product of repub policy, Bush & Hubbard. We had this debt when Obama took office, to blame him for it is ignorant. To blame him for not fixing it in a year and a half is impatient. To support Republicans who offer the same failed policy is regressive.

@jj1nine The president can't filibuster and Bush vetoed less legislation than any president in the last 100 years. The democracts controled Congress and therefore the budget. So they own the last 4 years of the mess we are in now not the last year and a 1/2 (thought thats bad enough). To say they do not is ignorant. To try to blame someone else is incompetent. To want more of the same is retarded. Change we can believe in? Change for the worse! yes they did!

@WagAdom Obviously pres cant filibuster, there was a strong repub minority that could. And having veto power was enough to prevent major legislation from seeing daylight.
Remember in 08 every Repub distanced themselves from Bush, and now 2 years later they put an entirely different spin on it, relying on vulnerable Americans to run with it. Now they say Bush didn't do it the Dems did it. Are you this gullible or do you just agree with their ultimate agenda that you'll go with whatever they say?

@jj1nine One other note. The failed loan policy was instituted under Clinton ( i.e. giving loans to people that couldn't afford to pay them back). Obama's solution was to pay off the loan companies so the CEO's could give themselves million dollar bonuses while the poor still were foreclosed on. And the stimulus money? built golf courses for them to play on and taught African males in African how to wash after sex so they don't contract aids (look it up if you don't believe me). Obama owns it.

@WagAdom Clinton's Loan policy was to get people in homes which worked but what should've happened in the years afterwards were regulations on banks to help keep people in homes and middleclass incomes should have risen, which they did not.
And saying that what is less than 1 million dollars of a multi-trillion dollar stimulus bill, going to Africa to help educate and prevent further spreading of a fatal disease is somehow bad, shows IMO a disgusting prejudice and egocentricity on your part.

@WagAdom Ultimately what needs to happen is an economic re-balance in this country which should include higher progressive taxes on the rich, but any slight increase to their taxes makes Repub shamelessly yell socialism... and unfortunately there are Americans ignorant enough to believe this, so essentially the Repubs have Americans voting against their own best interest. This is the proof that Republicans will not be the party to help us.

Republicans have filibustered tirelessly, have been completely partisan for the sake of partisanship, and have been spreading radical ideas about Obama and his administration from the start of his presidency. It is disgusting, and they have fooled some Americans into believing some of it, using fear in tough times to gain votes, only to regain power.

I see alot of people hating Obama here, just as i'm guessing you'd hate McCain if he were elected, but at the end of the day, how do we know who's side he's on?
We have no proof either way, sure he says a lot of stuff, but he's an ex-lawyer, now politician, of course he's guna talk, however, a wise man once said, "judge a man by his actions not his words".
If Obama is going to disclose all the information on ETs and such, as he said, then i don't think he's NWO.

The job position is built for people lusting for power, and Lobbying is legal! that means the president becomes basically employee for one major corporation (or more)- in exchange for them buying him the presidency. @lifedealwithit I agree with asleeperj. clinton forced banks to give out loans to people with poor credit, they bought houses and other things with it, and you wonder why the housing market sucked for so long during bush's term; it's because it takes several years for stuff like that to take effect, and the situation to get so bad it becomes a national issue. not everyone is going to have problems paying back their loans the very next day, it will be years later. and that's life... deal with it!
