Hi triplepogi, this was one of my first couple videos where I used Vue6. This is a complete CGI city using the example buildings in the vue6 samples. I took them and sprinkled them around a flat landscape and placed a camera on the balcony of a 3d house (again from the samples that come with Vue6)

Awsome!!! Something as big as the mothership would create its own weather as it slices through the atmosphere. Like the condensation you see around a booster passing through layers of air with different levels of humidity. I like the lightning bolt, the static discharge. Massive inductive, static charges building, then discharging like a weather front. Remember, sound only travels at about 800 mph. The little flecks of light on the skin are cool and inexplicable.

Thankyou tandino, :), indeed you can't give up if this is your passion. A year or two from now, you'll look back on these days and say "Thank god I stuck to it...look at me now". I believe that, and you should too. This is the first compositing I did, and I was so excited when I did it, that I was able to tell a visual story, even though there is a LOT of room for improvment! A LOT. I used Vision Lab studios for this one and Sony Vegas. I now use Lightwave 3d, Eyeon Fusion and Adobe AE

He is good eh? I know he uses Vue 6 from e-on software for some of his work. I've piddled with it. It's not terribly difficult. You can get the trial free from their web site. He mentions Sony Vegas for sound, Vue 6 for environment and another for the UFO itself. If memory serves.

We should all put together a team and get some investors and make a feature film. With Manbird, it'd be a guaranteed money maker if the hollywood execs would get their head out of their asses.

Thanks Sammy! These are supposed to be information pods that are being launched from the Mothership (the one that tilts on end at the end), they are being launched toward the main mother ship (the one in my other video that shows 100's of ufo's coming out). The data contains geological info, possibly abducted animals and people. Even I am not sure exactly what they will contain. They will definitly be revealed in the movie.

I meant to add that I think what you have done is brilliant,as if that were a real ufo and somebody was under the light with a camera the camera would be burnt out or the film distorted through the electromagnetic radiation. That is how anybody can see it is fake, as a camera in that close vicinity would not be able to function properly due to the magnetic fields.

I don't care much for CGI ufos, as they take away from genuine sightings and footage, and make a mockery of those of us who have genuinely photographed them. However, as you clearly state that this is entertainment, I have to give you credit as you have the makings of a brilliant film maker and special effects technician. Hi daflinn and thanks!! I agree, this one is not one of my best. Probably because I was just starting to learn compositing. But I'm glad I was able to get the idea out on video. I'm a celluar phone site deisnger by trade, currently jobless and 38 years old with 2 kids!!!

Have you tried putting some of this all through a camcorder-look filter or a filmstock filter to make it look even more effective, unless you already did and I can't tell. Maybe even give it a phonecam look, a la Cloverfield, or a cable news footage look with the titling and other info overlays, like the ticker tape headlines across the bottom of the screen.

well, I'm thinking that since this did not show the full scale war, I will probably apply some new techniques and bring in the other few million ships and go all out. I got some new 3d tracking software so I can put this ship in real footage and take it up a few notches. I just can't let this series go just yet...

Hi Lockeheed, yes, it's an A-10. The B-52 crashed into the thing on purpose, it was the only thing left the pilot could do, since the bombs didn't work, he was desperate and did a desperate and very futile thing. I tried to overlay some audio, but I couldn't find anything so I left it as is.
