  • 1st off. You can hear that the engine is running and propelling it self.

2nd. This would not ever work because the truck weighs probably 1/2 ton and the train weighs 1000 tons so the tires would just slip.

3rd. Quacker1 that could never work, 20 people could not do that much less 1, if that were possible then we'd just tie a horse to it

  • @Qmann98 Though your right, ive town a diesel loco with a chevy astro van. It doesn't take power to move it, it takes traction. Its still stupid because it doesnt advertise the power of the vehicle. Mind you though the astro van only had 2x4. This is a 4x4 which makes this even more pathetic.

  • @Qmann98 1st off. the engine is not in steam and is not propelling itself, all steam engines make that noise as they are being towed because the pistons are still being moved and compressing the air inside the cylinders.

2nd. this clearly did work, although the truck does only weigh 1/2, maybe 3/4 ton at a push, the train only ways about 150 - 200 and yes the tires do slip somewhat, but it still got it going!

3rd. Well I agree with you on that one, thats bullshit

  • Auto box would be destroyed if it had to do this every day. Manual low range would be better for the truck.

  • Why is this not available in the US? This is why Americans are buying foreign cars even if not made in the US as most fords are foreign made any way. But how can an "American" car maker deny the US such a nice truck.

  • @miked3502 Most GM and Chrysler products are foreign made (much more so than US made Honda and Toyota products). Most US Ford products (and most of their parts) are made in the US.

  • 0:42 real salesman this one, could sell ice to an eskimo lol

  • bring it to the US!

  • Big Deal! My brother stood between the engine and tender of Reading 2102 and pulled them together with his bare hands! Rolling resistance is the key.

  • Really they had a chevy in front of the ranger pulling both the ranger and the locomotive

  • Impressive. Too bad it's butt ugly.

  • why wont they give us a god damn diesel ranger in the US

  • great

    just ford forever

  • Yes, but can it pull my mother in law???

  • Can you folks down under mail one to america for me? Our Ranger is going bye bye and the F-150 is just to large. We needs a wilderness capable vehicle here!

  • This is just a marketing stunt. It looks cool, and isnt exactly the easiest thing to do, but it is nowhere near as difficult as it looks.

  • um im going to Europe to buy this ranger

  • You guys are actually lucky to have an ALL NEW Ranger. We've had the same one with minor updates for 20 years here in the states.

  • @JimPrower Except I'm more than happy with my old body style fully functional no frills truck like it's supposed to be. So long as it runs, and it will for years, I don't care :) Does everything and more than I need it to.

  • of course my TOYOTA HILUX can do that...

  • Ford - Built Tough

  • Will it blend?

  • UM YA I THINK I SUV COULD DO IT

  • i bet since theres very little friction with steel wheels on steel rails a toyota prius could pull that out. theres a video on here somewhere showing 10 or so people pull a full sized steam locomotive on a rope

  • is this still a body on frame vehicle or has ford made it uni body like the new ford explorer

  • @nirtousdisk should be body on frame, anything else would surprise me

  • @nirtousdisk body on frame - just like it must to be. ;)

  • Finally a vehicle that I can use to tow my train! I'm running to my local dealership to buy one!

  • ohhhhh yeahhh men , thats is a nice truck , that is the real trcuk in this world , the renger is the best , i have one and is the best , i love ford ranger ! i think about well old pick-ups is very god , but the ranger is powerfull , beautiful , strong and is the best , this ranger 2012 abaut "one ford" is magic , ohh yah !!

  • lol, few strong men can do that. pickup pulling a locomotive isnt much.

  • North American pickups are old technology advertised as new. This is new technology and would be a threat to the ancien regime that is the U.S. auto industry. Even Ford don't want Americans to know they build way better vehicles outside the States.

  • "Can your vehicle do this?"

I don't know; depends if that vehicle is really doing THAT.

  • @TheMegaGoldend let's see the vid. and ford makes the most american vehicle out of any manufacturer

  • ill hook it up to my bimmer and see what happens

  • Sell this in America for christ sakes!

  • This can't really give credit to the US. This vehicle is Euro and Aussie engineering.

  • no, but my vehicle can do this /watch?v=05zRyoBbcfI

how can you argue with that

  • I left them at home.

  • Roger......please you sun glasses on next time, too much sun can harm your eyes....

  • chuck norris was in the drivers seat

  • @trankston

Actually Chuck Norris was pushing the locomotive _ with his pinky. Or else it would have ran over the truck and anything else on it's way.

  • @trankston chuck norris would not need a truck

  • i reakon they has a little shunter pushing it from behind. There's no way that that an happen. Plus, an R weighs 187 tonns, not 160

  • @Timothetoolman Hey Timo,

R is actually easy rolling, Y 164 moves her with just notch 1.

  • @azervich I see. I thought that they may have faked the vid by putting the M behind it, but dad said that this is possible. What I want to know is how did the tow hitch and cable survived snapping =S

  • its a diesel...and that locomotive is heavy...give that van the respect it deserves

  • There's people who can do this alone, by hand.

  • Ford you still Fail.

  • @SLANG777

    You still fail dumb ass.

  • @SLANG777 beg to differ

  • Somewhere in there is Fred Flinstone pushing it

  • my rc car can pull more than that...

  • RIght. You've pulled the loco, now try pulling its train.

  • omw load of bullshit my MK1 could do this, really not a good way to "brag or show off" a new vehicle.

  • :) it is so extraordinary when SUV can pull train?! 4-6 guys can do the same...

  • My Moms car could do that

  • хана компрессии после таких игр, движок можно выкидывать

  • @TheMegaGoldend

    Australian designed and built.....

Just out of curiousity, what sort of Chev have you got?

  • Nice job Roger!

  • Impressive yes, but then again No.

with the rigth set up any truck could do this. I've managed to muscle around a 5000 pound John Deere with my 800 pound Polaris 425, and a VW taurag has pulled a Boeing 747, what you have to do is put some weight in the rear, put it in the lowest gear possible 4L and first" lock the driveline and start creeping. pulling on a level or sligth down hill, on a hard surface also helps.

  • Holy shit this video is right... I really DO need a train.

  • Ford got burned badly by the whole "euro" powerstroke fiasco. It definitely left a bad vibe for anything with a deisel engine.

I'm still looking at putting a Cummins 4BT into my ranger.

  • @Whitehorze

Ford still has the highest stake in Cummins of any manufacturer, and you can buy a Ford Cummins ranger in Bowen Scarf Ford in Kent Wa.

  • @SecularTechnology I'll take your word for that. The problem is that it's nearly impossible to find anything other than a 2 ton truck with a diesel engine in it here in the states. Ford did put a small diesel engine in the ranger back in the early 90's but it was poorly engineered and was a total waste.

  • @Whitehorze

Yeah I know. I think it's because of emissions.

  • @Whitehorze in america it was the early 80s

  • Ford will not sell this Ranger in the US because its sales would take from F150 sales. Because this "little Ranger' slightly bigger than F150. And carrying capacity is bigger, than F150. American Ranger is little, simple and cheap truck for commerce using.

  • Wow... thats traction. I dont care what the haters say. But then again....powerful Fords have always been great tow vehicles.... even when you dont own a loco.

  • search in youtube "Rammumeeste rongitõmme"

6 estonian guys versus over 200 tons full lenght Edelarautee passanger train.

  • hmm.... What's the point ?

  • @Demiurg4444

Because the loco weighs 190.4 tonnes.

  • No my car can't do it. IT'S A FUCKING FOCUS! FORD "

  • Ford is expected not to sell this wonderful little Ranger in the US because its sales would take from F150 sales, thereby taking the F150's 'top-selling' status away and giving it up to the Chevy Silverado.

A lot of us would love a new Ford truck that's not quite so big as the 150, but, Ford says, "Just buy the 150'.

  • I want one is it coming to the USA

  • @granadajohn

    No.

  • I had always wondered how I was going to move my steam locomotive out of the shed and here is my answer! hang on a sec.. I don't own a steam locomotive.. guess I wont be needing a Ford Ranger after all!

  • I can do that with my new superduty

  • copy cats

go see early movies of the land rover discovery 1 back in 1990 :P

  • it's not impressive or hard to move the train. The thing is on wheels people!

  • FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE

  • @lukaszw20

    not a Fake

  • สุดยอด!!! แรงเยอะเหมือนกันนะเราเนี่ย

  • really this is nuts ... feeling great to be part of it .....

  • WWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWW this nuts

  • Already got my order in for one.....cant wait.

  • @Potsy075 wow ur a fag and you work for Ford
