@Makitk I've been working on my Engineering degree for a long while now, JUST to live in Japan. It turns out I'd need to renounce my US citizenship to live in Japan. From what I've heard, renouncing citizenship is a very difficult thing to do, since the US won't let you, if your net worth is over $500,000. The only way out is to pay US taxes under the table, living as a Japanese "permanent resident," or to marry a Japanese.

The problem is I have an American girlfriend who wants to marry me.
