  • omg where can i get this! i live in boston but i doubt theres any wriggeling octo venders around :(

  • It's not really alive, it's just spasming.

  • yum, thats some good eatin

  • That looks so good.

  • Stand up for animal rights!

    PETA!!

Don't let these low life scums get away with MURDER.

  • Pardon me you said "tak tak tak" or "cac cac cac" ... lol.

  • tak tak tak!

  • u kno they're not that bad XD really i tried one at Korea and it really wasnt that bad at all ^^ it just taste like..chewy stuff like gummy bears? lol idk but they're ok

  • "this is fucking demented"

Not, it is fucking octopus. And a few drips of hot chili sauce on it would make it perfect. Looks fucking delicious (and healthy).

  • looks good..

  • this is fucking demented

  • God that dish looks awesome. Dip them tentacles in some spicy sauce, and you got yourself one tasty fresh meal! Bet they'd never serve it at McDonald's, tho. Too many weak-stomached americans would bitch like little girls about it.

  • hahahaha....so brave !!!

  • omfg omfg thats soooo frikin good oh my mouth is watering just pass me hot sauce and ill be in heaven but the food is really expensive

  • Cultural Bias.

  • I think people are so hypocritical. Food is food, it's cruel no matter what technique you use so it's just about the same as eating steak. Shut up already.

  • just the cut tentacles look too weird... i dont think i could eat that. now a whole live octopuse i could try, but only if it was small enough to fit in my mouth in one bit.

  • i won't dare to eat the whole live octopus coz i don't like it staring at me while i'm eating its tentacles. i rather hv the cut tentacles served on plates.

  • Thank GOD my country is not associated with any of this kind of bizzare food. Too cruel way of killing another living being to satisfy ones hunger or just for fun??

  • lol...WHAT A POMPOUS PIECE OF SHIT! THANK GOD YOUR COUNTRY ISNT ASSOCIATED WITH THAT KIND OF BIZARRE FOOD? IS YOUR COUNTRY LACKING IN THINGS TO BE ASHAMED OF? IM SURE YOU CAN THINK OF SOMETHING REVOLTING AND DISGUSTING YOUR COUNTRY HAS DONE. THIS IS A DELICACY, IN MORE THAN ONE COUNTRY, AND YOU SHOULD BE MORE OPEN MINDED AND RESPECTFUL OF IT. NOBODYS MAKING YOU EAT IT, JERK

  • I hope you don't eat ANY type of meat. If you're not a vegetarian, you just proclaimed how stupid you are.

  • Right. Because other animals are killed so humanely? Unless you don't eat any meat you have no right to criticize. I for one am looking forward to trying it.

  • Um -- you are Australian -- how about Witchetty Grubs -- they're pretty gross I'd say! Every country has "disgusting food" -- in Norway there's a meal with whole lamb's head "Smalahove". Ireland: Crubeens (pig trotters) -- the list goes on indefinately. In Sweden we eat bloodpudding (yum yum). Note that these are often traditional dishes and often arise out of the need to make use of all parts of an animal (so as not to waste anything), or make use of anything that can be used as food.

  • Witchety Grubs - Aboriginal would cook and then eat it. Not raw and definately not "alive".

  • I beg to differ: "Witchetty grubs are traditionally eaten live and raw. " says Pilots Guides[dot]com under "Taste of the Outback: Witchetty Grub". Wikipedia says: "Edible either raw or lightly cooked in hot ashes, they are sought out as a high-protein food by Indigenous Australians". Do a You Tube search for "witchetty raw" and you will see several tourists trying this traditional Australian Outback food. Face it, Australia has gross food too (like everywhere else in the world). :)

  • japanese also have culture of eat aliving octopus, squid, small fish, and more they could make sashimi that fish still alive. anyway, getting closer to the world right now , it's not wired to have same culture?/habit?.coz japanese eat kimuchi, and korean eat sushi in jeneral. don't you think so?

  • well i agree wif u coz over at korea, they also serve sushi. so i hv the concept tat their sashimi is a mixture of korean & japanese food...And heard from so many pple that it's a "must eat live octopus" at korea rather than at japan. Hence thought that it's korean origin culture. Anyway who care abt the origin nowadays as the world is getting closer together.

  • what is karean sashimi?

i sow same things in japan.

korean always make an appeal this is korean,,,,

    i hate it.

  • actually the meaning of sashimi is japanese dish consisting of very thin bite-size slices of fresh raw fish, traditionally served with soy sauce and wasabi. but the "eating live octopus" style is very much of korean culture (so far i never seen japanese eating this way before) & it's served together with other raw seafood.
