  • What instrument is that over the guitar at 2:40??????

  • Album certainly lives up to the expectations.

  • Awesome! November 18 at the park west (best venue in this entire country) in Chicago! Can't wait! This is a very nice departure from.pt but still has some great progressive roots while exploring stuff I never even knew could be done musically...genius, really.. :)

  • I consider this song as a damn masterpiece.

  • king crimson - cirkus :D:D

  • @YSiLvErY I came to this post with to say the same.

  • @YSiLvErY Wow, I didn't notice the resemblence... And I'm a huge KC fan. Well heard!

  • Just wanted to add, I am a huge fan of 1960's / 1970's progressive music and hard rock. So anytime I hear this influence reflected in today's music, it makes me feel good that people can still respect and appreciate the bands like Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Genesis, Rush, Black Sabbath, Camel, The Beatles, and so on.

  • Love all the tracks I heard so far from this album, cant wait for the 26th. But some of these parts resemble Opeth's Heritage, mainly the experimental mellotron/70's prog sounding parts. But then again, the Heritage parts remind me of King Crimson in many ways, so I can hear a link between the new Steven Wilson/Opeth albums. More experimental, and more 1970's prog rock and jazz influences. The 3 tracks Ive heard from this album already inspire me more than The Incident by Porcupine Tree.

  • @IvoryForest1 Actually there is a link between the two albums. They are both part of a trilogy, the third album being the collaboration between Akerfeldt and Wilson called Storm Corrosion coming out in april. I got this info from Opeths website.

  • @Alaganooch Ive been dying to hear Storm Corrosion. I had no idea that had anything to do with the Steven Wilson albums at all. Very interesting. I was sort of hoping Mikael and Steven would be working together more regularly. But who knows, they may love this new album so much, they might just work together more often for now on. Not just as guests, but make Storm Corrosion a regular thing they do outside of Opeth/Porcupine Tree.

  • @IvoryForest1 Are there any previews on Youtube for Storm Corrosion yet? I'm looking forward to that as well!

  • @NarLiv I am looking forward to hearing just a snippet of this Storm Corrosion album, but havent found anything personally to hear it yet. I guess from what I read in a interview, the albums gonna be very symphonic sounding, but that could mean anything really. Its a very experimental album but, everything Mikael and Steven write is experimental. I am guessing we will hear a mixture of the Opeth/Porcupine Tree style.

  • @IvoryForest1 i honestly dont think it will be anything like opeth or pt...

steven said that doing anything like they already do is pointless. im expecting something totally out there and crazy and absurd and at the same time... incredible

  • @ironrushscorp I agree, I think its going to be a very experimental, dark, and relaxing album. I guess its going to have zero drums on it which is strange. Itll be a good listen.

  • It's like jazz... but I'm headbanging.

  • the begining of this is too fucking good.

  • Fuck yes

  • FFUUUUUUUU MIND EXPLOSION

  • Holy damn....

    *pre-orders*

  • A good day to have a birthday :)

  • love the way he's throwing in old-style prog

  • beautiful :B

  • Is it Sept. 26th yet?

  • @brandonp51

haha, on 26th he will release the whole album I suppose.

  • @Smerdiis

    Yep. Can't wait.
