I am white and discovered Bear Butte by accident and it was one of the most memorable places I have ever seen. I walked the trail, but did not say a word or make a sound - it was obvious that the highest level of respect was required. I did not try to make up my own rituals or pretend in some way to be native or "spiritual" as some other non-native people were doing. However, to this day, I don't know if I was wrong to visit. I am very sad to hear about the endless challenges to Bear Butte.
Skin color means nothing to me. Spirit and Heart determine who you are...and if you felt the magic there, then you are connected and a part of sacred All.
indeed sended letters to help you support your cause I know it has been a struggle for so long now..It is time to end it in a good way to find peace there and practice your believes.
Wish you good luck with all the support in the world

This is how it should be...not with bikers tearing up the sacred land. It is a place of vision and prayer and offerings. It is Sacred.
