I know!! I was surprised too when I did mine fretless!! It was really just as a throwaway from an old squire and I figured, let me try; the worst that could happen is that I loose $169..... WOW!!
very nice solo man, only thing i could recommend would be playing less root notes, and in doing that connecting your lines with less inclination between changes. i hope you know what i mean lol. have a listen to Neils Henning Orsted Peterson (sp?) and you might see what i mean. just solid lines throughout. nice work though keep it up!!
Muito bom cara! to atras de um fretless jazz bass, mas esse precision realmente ficou com um sonzão muito bom, bem de acustico. E é logico que quando o cara que tá tocando é bom ajuda muito hehehe
nice solo - decent ideas. i have one thing to add --- if you break up the lines and not start on the same beat all the time it would breathe more.agreed for i too am tired of wanking by so many two-handed tappers and slappers that are tricky, but, that said you need to get in deeper into harmony. also relax the vibrato, slow it down or it sounds nervous. as said, get some other beats to pay from and start on and go towards resolution points.
Excellent solo! This is what a real bass solo should sound like over a jazz standard like Stella by Starlight. Wonderful tone, phrasing and vocabulary. What a relief to hear, after seeing so much youtube vids of bassists wanking off.
You sir have one of the best fretless tones on youtube! Bravo! What bass, strings, pickups, amp, etc. are you using?

Hey man. Really love the playing! Just wondering what strings do you have on here?

That tone is wicked! That low C shook my speakers and half the things on my desk. ;) Sounds great my friend.

whoa nice tone man, sounds like a double but with more clarity love it!

Which bass is that, and how do you get such a double bass-like sound ? If it is a fender Jazz bass, what's your setting with the PUs and tone?

Who would have thought you could get this type of tone out of a fretless P bass?

I think I'm going to purchase a fretless neck ans swap it out on my P bass. I'm really impressed with how a fretless P bass sounds.

The perfect fretless sound. Perfeito som. I think, if there was only one fretless sound, it would be this one.

E o ventilador deu um charme especial ao som...

Very nice playing and I like the tone -- really sounds closer to a standup than most fretless electrics.

what is the difference between fretless and fretted? is it a more blended sound or what
UberBassist5000 4 years ago
the difference is that there's lines on the fretboard but theres no metal bumps that divide them. hope that makes sense.
