  • I'm on love with St Annes! I go there twice a year to attend a regular conference and I'm never happier than when I'm there. This is a great very old colour film; thanks for uploading. The place has not changed that much in the last 54 years.

  • I'm guessing this was before the theatre burnt down. St. Annes looked lovely in the 50's, now it's full of 'undesirables'.

  • St.Annes-on-Sea is still very beautiful and it was lovely to see this classic clip of its heyday as a holiday resort before the advent of Freddie Laker then the Internet.

  • Makes me happy to see how it was and weep for how it is now

  • Brought back many happy memories of living at St Annes in the 60s, and working on the pier show.

    Thanks for posting.

  • unbelievable. i can't get over how nice ashton gardens was and how many people are on the beach.

at least the council is trying to do something with ashton gardens at the moment.

do u have any more footage like this?

  • Thats all there is, other than clips of the family on the beach at St Annes, but they aren't of historical interest... more hysterical

  • Fantastic m8..if only they could have kept the Fylde coast like that! :(

  • ashton gardens is not like that anymore, the council are just letting it decay away so they can build houses for the old folks on it :(

  • it is lovely lytham st annes is a nice place

  • lovely!
