this was on of those ska bands that stood above the rest of the millions of ska punk bands in the 90's < and I just saw this video in a compilation , this was the only song I heard from them , and I knew they were for real, but when I saw the singer in the video I instantly knew he was authentic, back in the early 90s when I was living true punk life
it was an arcata skate park benefit concert, filmed in arcata, CA in 1995 or 1996... 8 bands performed, including: siren, saturnine resistor, elysium, sake, the wobblies and a couple i can't remember at the moment... the concert was held at the old arcata community center and there are some shots of all of us hanging out in the arcata hotel after the show...
this makes me want to drive to my moms house, and unpack all of my highschool things, and try to find his biography his mom wrote... i connected with the music alot, as im manic depressive, but never got to see them.
if anyone doesnt know this and wants to read a biography on a incredible and artistic person, his mother was Danielle Steel, the famous author, and wrote the book "his bright light, the nick traina story"
i miss the old days like crazy... this brings back some memories.
@redlinedeath great book...I teared up when i was finishing it(no homo)...I remember when I found out he died....I was in math class...11th grade..my buddy jake told me....real .bummer!
Nick was Danielle Steele's son. If anyone is interested, read "His Bright Light" by her. I know she's usually a writer for middle age women, but it's an inspiring read.
Cinema Beer Nuts. RIP Nick.
Link 80 was still good after his death, so weird.
