Generate playlists on the fly of similar songs? eg pop in my 80gb ipod, ask for a playlist of songs like the mortal kombat theme... Or have it snag your contact list and recognize all the names by voice command? "Call John at work".... yea, I didn't think so.

In some states, laws will be passed forbidding drivers to have their phones out while driving. This completely fixes that inconvenience. And I know I have put myself in danger countless times for switching tracks while driving. This will eliminate that problem as well.
I think it's not just luxury or laziness, for it will be a necessity in the near future.
I saw an 08 Focus today with sync. I'm buying it this Friday (Payday, for more $ down) ^.^

its actually really awesome. i actually work for ford and this is the project i work in conjuction with. there may be similar systems to this, but this definately beats out any other system. if anyone would like more info on it, let me know and id be more than happy.
Microsoft has already been making this kind of software for Acura and a couple of other companies before, but this looks better and more compatible with a lot of mp3 players
ACURA's system pales in comparison to this, Zune, iPod USB flash etc seemless integration with cellphones MUCH MUCH more user friendly, TOUCH SCREEN if you get the NAV I might add. Acuras all have ridiculous and unneeded tech in them.
They do have some things. You can talk over bluetooth but that's about it. You can't connect a call in progress, say "call John Smith at work," have it read out text messages, or play audio (eg internet radio) over bluetooth. As for voice recognition, it's amazingly cool to be able to call out a song title by name and have it pull it up from your 80gb ipod then have it generate a list of similar songs Pandora-style.
Now that it's out and we can try it, I think it's miles ahead of what's in Acura's showroom. Not to mention it's a royal pain in the ass to remove/replace acura's system since it's tied into all the other dashboard controls so you'll be screwed in a few years when it's outdated.
I bet you probably have to get the Navigation System to have this, and that will get pricy, BUT NOOOO! TOYOTA! YOU ARE AMERICAN, PURCHASE AMERICAN! SUPPORT YOUR OWN COUNTRY YOU LIVE IN, OR MOVE TO CHINA!
