By the way, they did fly, they used to do that way back, the thing is... Humans have been around for a very, very long time. 200k years at least - that's when we found the latest fossilized homo sapien like skeleton... So yeah, we have eaten stuff, and also had farms for a very, very, very, very long time. Breeding the kind of animals we like has not been something new to us.
