  • What a bunch of useless turds. Those cops have probably never done anything remotely heroic in their careers. Jackasses.

  • pure harassment!

  • Fuckers just won't quit, the only thing he didn't do was stick his finger up your ass and I bet if they would allow it he would.

  • Synopsis of this comments section:

hundreds of mad nerds who had their pot confiscated.

  • what happened to the officers.

  • God damn do Vermont cops have anything better to do? Shit!

  • What a huge waste of time! This is ridiculous.

  • Oh god. And you even thanked them at the end.

  • clearly they did this to mess with this guy because he gave them a hard time this was uncalled for

  • Cops are afraid of cameras. Their cowboy days are over!!! Good job on recording this event for future education of the next generation of citizens.

  • So some kid has clearly smoked weed in the car before, the dog sniffs that out and the cop has just cause to search the car or impound it. Then the kid consents to search and with the camera, asks the officer to search his car by himself.

Officers handled it extremely well and professionally. They did their jobs very well, with maybe the exception of being a little bit rude.

I don't see what the big fucking deal is.

It also makes you wonder why the kid got pulled over in the first place.

  • @lordmagicpants You can tell that the cop is lying about the dog alerting, because if the dog did alert that would give the cops probable cause to search his car. So the cop lied to the guy to trick him in giving him consent to search. AND the cop had no right to detain him without any probable cause.

  • @lordmagicpants Beautiful video displaying abuse of authority. These guys missed their calling as unicorn hunters. They lack the characteristics necessary to conduct themselves as proper Peace officers, but seem far more qualified to comb the forest floors for Wizard Turds, that can be rolled in the hands and transformed into Gold. You stated "did their jobs very well", I agree, If you were insinuating a job well done consists of Fucking with innocent people, not criminals.

  • good video, sad to see you waive your rights so easily though :(

  • Wow,that cop is full of shit right up to his eyeballs.Yes asshole, you did threaten him.

  • I really hope you sued these officers who were in clear violation of the law.

  • You should have called 911

  • Its absolutely disgusting what officers can and will get away with, pulled over for a headlight out then bullied into a search after a dog "indicates".. Dont consent and they threaten you with impounding your car and searching it against your will.. Why didnt they give the driver a field sobriety test if they suspected him of using weed? A friend of mine bought a car from a cop (first and original owner) and found a pipe with resin in it that smelled like weed....

  • big shot cops, asshole crooked cops! in vt.i hate them all !

  • Why would he want you to turn off the camera if he was near your car? Odd.

  • Multiple Bullies who think they can do as they like cos they are in Uniform...Any one following orders is responsible for their actions..read the nurenburg trials...How can a dog give probable cause? does the court take the say of a dog over a human?..Fkn ridiculous.!no wonder these idiots need guns.!

  • "And although I am confident that there has been, more than likely, marijuana smoked in that car in the past, and that is what the dog is alerting to, there are no drugs in there at the moment"

"Well, the car is 20 year old..."

"That being said, we'll fill out your paperwork and get you on your way."

  • What, exactly brought a dog into this situation?

Thats the real question . Cops have to have some reasons to justify the involvement of a search dog. I never heard the reason.

  • @needforcraft In 1987 and again in 88, Vt trooper Gary Boutin blew by me with his family car loaded for vacation. Rt4 limit 55 at time, he had to be doing at least 80. I was on my way to work. Where is a cop when you need one? He wasn't a bad guy, he just set a very bad example of not practicing what he preached. At the extreme there was former VtST Penka, I need not say more.

  • Ok I can c these cops doing their job but do they have 2 go that far? 4 fuck's sake! They were just prolonging the whole situation & being dicks. The power trip of these cops is caught on video & it just proves that cops get away with shit ALL the time! But yet I was not there & there is probably more 2 the video than what we r seeing. That cameraman was probably being just as immature as the cops also but the whole thing could have gone a lot more smoother if both parties weren't so big headed!

  • And the drivers credibility IS in question? Because of a headlight out? I gotta say the cops were genuinely nice, but damn this system is F'd up beyond belief. They are trained to find any way to make the state some $.

  • Sorry I didn't read all of the comments. Did you talk to a lawyer about this. Giving you the option to give consent or have your car towed is the definition of coercion. You handled yourself well though. Did they apologize for wasting your time? Yea right.

  • ask the cops were was the dog pointing on my car

  • How many crimes were committed while these cops wasted their time. It goes to show that the instincts of police officers are often flawed, and when their ego is tested, they will go to extremes to try to find a way to make themselves feel better.

  • Fuck all you apologists on here. This whole thing is bullshit. No one in a position of power should act like a smarmy asshole. Even if you cops are being "disrespected", the police are supposed to be held to a higher standard, and shouldn't come down to that level.

  • @sean222007 You don't know how to spell--that constitutes probably cause to search your property & person right down to the body cavity search deep & hard to the elbow then it's your wife's turn even though she was on the other side of town ya never know she may be involved in this massive conspiracy.....

  • @sean222007 I can tell you're backwoods by your spelling, grammar & childish 'don't mess with me' mentality. I'm a lawyer & I've devoted my life to wrecking careers of law-breaking cops & nitwits like you. They're not exempt from the law they are sworn to uphold, and you sounds like a Class-A blue ribbon suck up, so we need to think who really needs to be prepared. Let's see you laugh that one off tough guy.....

  • The people think if you have nothing to hide or aren't doing anything wrong that it's ok or acceptable to allow your rights to be violated should've been born in Russia.

  • friggen pigs.....No privacy left anymore...i woulda let the assholes pound my car then sue thier ass when they dont find anything..this is pure bullshit....no wonder people hate pig cops!!

  • haha i wouldve had a sack stashed in the camera then after everything bust it out and show the camera and be like "stupid fucking pigs" and toke up to celebrate

  • at least the pig didnt plant anything..

  • You should have never consented. Let them seize your car. They know its completely out of line. And what are they going to do, arrest you without cause?

  • That is why you never give consent...ever...

  • I would have made them get a warrent

  • "its not a threat...its an alternative..."

im going to remember that one...

  • There really shouldn't be an argument this is the result of a failed drug war policy. All this for possible weed? Ridiculous. If not for a failed drug war Cops wouldn't have such a ready cause to stop and search you so often. Our forefathers would be upset at us for taking this so willingly.

  • excuse me fine officer but i choose to exercise my fourth ammendment right to the constitution of the united states.

  • fucking hate cops i wish theyd all just die

  • AWESOME..........................

  • Just because a K-9 thinks it has detected something, does not mean that police can search your person or car. (This is a trick police use to get you to consent to a search.) Remember, police are allowed to lie to you in order to coax you into a confession of guilt by waivering your rights, or give you consent to search or question you. Police train in these tactics in the academy when they are hired by a department or the state (makes no difference.) You fell right into their trap, unfortunately

  • hahahah what a joker

  • I can't believe the cop has the nerve to ask him to sign a document saying no threats or promises forced this consent. At that point, with it all on tape, I would have refused the consent and taken this one to court and sued for right's violations and any damages incurred.

  • I gotta say, i think this cop was respectful and really engaged you all in conversation. Instead of merely talking to you he talked with you, if that makes any sense. For as nit-picky as you guys were, which you do have a right to be even if you're being a pain in the ass, i think many cops wouldn't have put with the stuff you did. they just would have taken the car, as is their right and perogative

  • Ha ha! Back to the donut shop boys! Cops don't prevent crime--they show up afterwards to do paperwork for the investigators!

  • Please call an attorney and sue the shit out of these idiots.

  • Well that was intertaining. Pretty much turned out to be a screwed up night thanks to VT State's finest and the K-9. Truth is, if the K-9 barks, officers do have probably cause. That's the law. I wouldn't have raised the roof on this though. Shit happens. Hell, at least they were pleasant about the whole thing. Some troopers would have told him to go screw himself if he demanded one officer not stand next to the searching officer. That took a lot of balls to say that.

  • so you have the right to refuse consent but if you dont then they jsut seize your car??? yeah thats a nice loop hole for the cops just to give the citizen a false sense of rights lol what a joke

  • Good job wasting the cops time,

The more you waste there time the less likely they will be to search people in the future

  • @TheBbergner86 cops don't have anything BUT time from the start of their shift until the shift ends. I can guarantee you they would much rather run out the clock harassing a couple of completely harmless young white kids than to go out and actually have to do real police work, like dealing with a domestic violence situation or dealing with violent gang thugs. it's a win-win for them. it gives them the illusion of looking busy, and might result in another arrest for their never ending drug war.

  • Pretty interesting video here. The guy being pulled over and his friend were being somewhat combative, but you could also tell that the cops were just itching to actually find something to pwn this kid and prove their authority. There was a lot of unnecessary ego going on with all parties involved.

  • they need to stop hiring 21 year old children to be cops.

  • for all of you saying "why not just let them search?" could anyone give me a reason why you would let a complete stranger pilfer though your belongings? if so, is it cool if I come over and rummage through your car, your house, your closets, drawers, etc? never, ever, EVER, no matter what they threaten to do, should you consent to a search. if you are being detained, SHUT your mouth and do NOT answer any more questions until you speak to an attorney. consent to search = legal search.

  • @chieftp A cop is a complete stranger, but they are not allowed to steal things, they only take drugs out of cars, if a cop wants to search my car, I will let them, laugh cuz they wont find anything, they search my car, they find nothing, I get to go free, no arguments, I make the cop look stupid for searching and finding nothing, it isnt that hard

  • @gregrocks66 For most, evidently so. If you have nothing to hide why raise hell ya kno?

  • @kawirider206 when people work with cops they work with the people, im friends with alot of the cops in my town,

  • @gregrocks66 Yeah man, I used to not like cops, then became friends with a few. They are people too, now I know what bulllshit they put up with

  • @kawirider206 The Griffith IN. cops are the best that ive met, their cool, never had any problems with them, one of them even let me record his patrol car for youtube

  • @gregrocks66 yeah dude, cops are people, who treat you how you treat them

  • @kawirider206 finaly someone who gets it, thats how im going to play when im a cop, im not going to mean, im not going to be nice, im going to be fair, how ever someone makes me is how im going to be, thats how i am now

  • @gregrocks66 Yeah dude no doubt, no matter how much shit people talk, most of them wont talk it when your face to face with them

  • @gregrocks66 first of all, they WILL find "something" if they want to. then it's an easy arrest and conviction for them because it's a legal search since you consented. even if they don't - you're not simply going to drive away. after they rip out the interior of your car, the engine, the gas tank, the tires dismounted from the rims, your car basically destroyed. and if you think they'll put everything back like it was - think again - YOU consented to it. you won't be laughing then.

  • people are getting more intelligent, hahhaaahahaha

  • @gregrocks66 How hard is it? You don't think being held 2.5 hours in a parking lot while some cops search through every corner of your car is, maybe not hard, but frustrating, inconvenient, and a disrespect to one's time?

Andrew was travelling for work, on his way to a hotel to get enough sleep to drive a truck the next day. He lost a lot of time due to this event.

  • @GloriousCoconut well, if he listen instead of argue with law enforcement guess wat, it would of took alot faster and he could of gotten more sleep, i know for myself, i wanna be a cop, and i know that i want to be respected, and people who give me shit will not get warnings from me,

  • @gregrocks66 I see where you're coming from, but no, it wouldn't have. Once the search began it was at least 2 hours until it was finished. I know, because I kept driving past the scene over and over again to be sure he was still there.

You will be respected as a cop if you act respectable.

  • @gregrocks66 go fuck yourself.

  • @sain231 suck on cock

  • @gregrocks66 then you should never be allowed to be in law enforcment

  • @ts109 trust me, I plan to be an officer

  • @gregrocks66 "it would of took alot faster..." nobody likes their spelling or grammar nitpicked in comments, but holy shit you're illiterate. when you take your weekend cop classes at your local community college, you might want to check out some elementary school level English classes.

  • @gregrocks66 Respect is something you earn, you are talking about tyrany and rule with fear.

  • @gregrocks66 Respect is earned not demanded.

  • @GloriousCoconut i plan to be a respectable, i play fair, ive always played fair and plan to be fair as a cop, which means, if im being respected, im going to be respectful, treat me like shit, then ill give the same, i plan to give out more warnings, then tickets, but will write them when needed, i see your guys point, but u also got to see through the cops eyes, why did the car even need searching?

  • @gregrocks66 Andrew was pulled over for having a headlight out. Then the cop, for some reason, wanted to search. Andrew refused, as is allowed by the US Constitution, so they brought a dog out and claimed it alerted. There was no suspicion of any drugs in the car. The cop didn't see or smell anything; he just wanted to search. And like you know, there was nothing in the car.

  • @gregrocks66 trust me dude, no matter how respectful you may be, some people are going to talk trash and be dicks, you will be sued several times, blah blah blah, youll like being a cop tho, go for it.

  • @kawirider206 lol thx dude, im sure tho with the town I plan to for, that doesnt get much action, well, prob wont have to deal with to much sueing, or disrespectful people, Griffith IN is peaceful, there is I hear a bad spot, but for the most that ive seen, not much goes down, traffic stops and ambulence calls are the most I see, car accidents, and a few arguments from people that involve cops, but nothing major

  • @gregrocks66 Oh man thats what I thought, but no matter what people say, take that shit with a grain of salt, just make sure you go home safe every night, people talk so much shit but who do they call when they get fucked up or house broken into or something stolen so on and so forth. And you will meet some cool, good people, but dont trust anybody, when you do thats when shit hits the fan. If you have any questions or anything I can do to help let me know buddy!

  • @GloriousCoconut then i see why u all would be pissed, some cops are assholes some are not, but if there was nothing in the car, should of hurried and let the cop search, and i hope the cop didnt write any tickets for the headlight, the its only fair that the cop admits to being wrong and gives a warning, since they wasted time, but there is 2 wrongs comming from both sides

  • Comment removed

  • @gregrocks66

You can chill with that. It is his right to privacy. No warrant, no search.

  • @TRUDOWNSOUTH i know, but when you say no to a cop, he can get say he thinks they may be drugs in there, and say thats a reason to search, now if you say yes it would be alot quicker then arguing with a cop, and if you have nothing in car, then you get to go, no argument, all easy

  • @gregrocks66 ya just let them search kiss your rights away people like you make me sick. i would have let them take my car

  • @gregrocks66 Why did he keep saying "your person"?I believe because of your birth certificate and social security card that you applied for made you a child of the state thats why they can bully you around. Watch Rob Menards documentary The Great Deception very insightful.

  • @gregrocks66 Dude what ur saying is ROLL OVER!! The best thing to do is LET THEM!!! Let them do WHATEVER!! Is That your answer to this crap?? UR as sick as those cops! "Let the cops search".......you are sick!! sick!!! SICK

  • @gregrocks66 you are one of the losers who miss the point and might just end up in a prison cell one day

  • thats why you stay away from fellows balls and the rest of eastern, vt.

  • There were like 3 or 4 cops there that could have been solving (trying) real crime. Instead of haressing innocent people that have not harmed anyone.

  • They act like these stupid dogs are infalable machines that never ever make a mistake but youtube is full of videos of these stupid animals giving false allerts, these cops wasted this mans time. They put him between a rock and a hard place when they THREATENED to search his car with out him filming unless he consented to a search, he can't win for losing with these self appointed gods.

  • The problem as I see it is the guy doesn't trust the cops. To further his concern, they threaten to impound his car, where he has even less control over a crooked cop planting evidence. These cops seemed to be ridiculing him. They are jerks and do not belong on the police force as their job is to protect Rights (read The Declaration...to protect these Rights governments are instituted), not make fun of them. They are on a power trip.

  • The cops can make the dog alert.

  • ok so they are going to force someone to pay a tow bill for reason that you don't want people seeing what you do. i would not have allowed the search voluntarily. this is coercion , that is a threat. that was awseome that the guy said let me see your pockets. this is false arrest. I hope this man sues the shit out of these cops personally.

  • Do mind if I look up your ass?

  • Amen and Thank You to you good sir. Thank You for keeping these power hungry pigs in check who just look to build their egos instead of doing actual police work

  • I love how the woman says he was done and that they were packing up his things then the other guy says he is still searching.....

  • Fools! They know nothing of molecular chemistry and these so called "trained" dogs are not fool proof! The same thing happened to me and they found nothing! They said that oh people could have smoked in my car, but I drive a BMW 330 Ci and i watch who gets in my car. Plus I don't smoke mj and never will. They say it as an excuse so that they don't have to say, sorry we were wrong. There are no scientific tests that conclude what they say. Born and raised in VT and I wonder if that trooper was...

  • @VTAirsofter And if there are such tests I would love to hear them!

  • Hey copper i hope your reading this ya your on youtube, and your looking like a fool!! LOL! FUCK the POLICE biggest GANG OUT THERE

  • He's doing nothing wrong yet they threaten to seize his car and get a warrant unless he allows a wrongful search of his car??? The folks who like this kind of stuff would have probably stood up for the nazi's who were "just doing their job" too.

  • While I am not a fan of the police and agree that these searches are bullshit I have to commend this officers resolve to the camera.., although you could see he wasnt happy about it he did not try to bully about it but what he stated was "if" evidence is found that he would need a "copy" of the digital content involving the search. Its the first I heard a police officer use that path and lets hope it sets a new standard

  • He then goes to the back of my car, shows it to his parter and looks at him and lifts his eyebrows and says "this looks like the footprint right?" the rookie looks back up and goes "ummm.... oh, yea, that looks like the right size" as if it was rehearsed in the car. The pig that took my shoe then placed it on the hood of his car and took some pictures for "evidence". I was now 15 minutes late for work and finally the cop gives me my shoe back. Fuck the police.

  • This was a tip off to me that they were setting me up, because the only porch on the house was wooden, and it was summertime, so even if someone had broken into the house, there was a very slim chance there would be footprints. Next, after 15 minutes of the cop asking me "Are you sure you didn't leave the vehicle?" over and over, the idiot asks me for my shoe (which are DCs, a very common shoeprint) .

  • The vermont state police followed me an hour across the state to pull me over. I had parked in the driveway of a summer home for no more than 10 minutes to try to make a phone call, and did not leave my car. The state troopers drove recklessly thought a 25 mph zone swerving between traffic to try to catch up to where i was. They then accused me of going into the summer home and slashing a screen and said i had "left footprints on the porch".

  • You know who should feel stupid and humiliated is the retard from out of state who crosses the state line, but is all the sudden an expert in criminal law, search and seizure, and probable cause when speaking with cops who do this every day.I find it really hillarious when dopers like this think they are all lawyer. Obviously they don't realize that laws vary from state to state. If you were in Texas, you probably could have, and should have been shot. Stupid dicks!

  • i wish the cops would have beat him

  • @samarsh1- with a fashlight

  • Dude... Let him do his job.

    It's just sad.

Just concider that the man didn't know you... And the time you made him waste could save lives.

  • Comment removed

  • The same exact thing happened to me. They searched my car with a dog and claimed they detected the signature of narcotics. They even looked under the hood, I guess they thought I had an 8 ball in the wiper fluid container LOL. They surprisingly let me go without a citation or a warning after they concluded I wasn't a Colombian drug lord. I guess sometimes they get bored at night.

  • man... you are a looser. I must have missed the point you were trying to make.

  • Why do these little kids think they dont have to abide by the law? If you feel your time was wasted then why did you prolong this? Someone please tell me when, where and how this little kids rights were violated. You got their names....your point? The officer did everything as he should have. They didnt find anything....SO? Grow up and get over yourself....thank god these officers are out there.

  • Get a Job Glorious NutJob. If you did, maybe you could move out of your parents' basement.

Good Job Green and Gold. Keep up the great interdiction work. These potheads are a joke.

  • Get some liberties fascist faggot.

  • It is simple. exercise your rights or lose them. I won't be treated like a criminal.

  • People are making duplicated YT accounts to post discrediting comments. I wonder if they work for the government.

  • Unprofessional, intimidating and useless

  • never, ever, EVER consent to a search. they had NO authority to even do a pat down of his person unless they had a reason to believe he was carrying a weapon. if they want to tow his car, THEY should pay for it. why should he have to pay for that? also, why did the cop say he would need a copy of the suspect's video? you're not obligated to provide the cops with ANYTHING.

  • UH...YOU ARE DEAD WRONG.

  • dude. Why did you consent?!

  • Idiots like you are part of the reason cops aren't as human as they were twenty years ago. This was dumb.

  • And you obviously have stuff to hide from the comments you made audibally and written on the video.

  • You want to tear someone's car apart to arrest him for a piece of plant, and he's the dick. I feel sorry for you and your angry, twisted mindset. Find some love for your fellow human being.

  • @GloriousCoconut the cops are just doing their job, where is your love for them? you can't question law enforcement from the ground up, if you have a valid complaint take it to the police chief or the courts. they wouldn't have kept you for an hour if you'd agreed to the search at the start, or even if you hadn't. what they were doing is their job and unfortunately for us we don't live in an anarchy and we do have cops whether you like it or not. you're the one who seems angry about it...

  • @GloriousCoconut i could not agree more with you. America is the land of the free not the land of treat you as guilty and search you until something incriminating is found.... drug dogs in my opinion are a sick loop hole.

  • whtownejr,

You fail at life. i will go into thorough detail if you wish, but i have a feeling you already know.

  • @whtownejr hahahahaha, assuming you are superiorly educated in the field of law than myself or any other viewers would you like to, in your own words (humour me), what the 4th amendment states? If protecting that right means "being a dick" then I would say calling a lawyer makes you a royal "bonehead".

  • @whtownejr also: K-9's are taught to false alert in situations where consent (this is how it's spelt, since I noticed your error) is denied. If drugs are found the officer states the sniffer was accurate, if no drugs are found then the officer claims the dog must have alerted to residual drug odors. Which we can see happen in the latter portion of the video. Either way this is a fine example of corruption and abuse of the American citizen.

  • @whtownejr I actually thought he was being very respectful. Never once did he take on a condescending tone of voice like those supposedly respectable officers of the law did. I know it isn't your place to question the law, but come on, doesn't it seem a little fucked that he was backed in to a corner, forced into signing a consent card or his car would be taken away. Sounds like coercion to me.

  • @blamethecause it IS our place to question the law.

  • @whtownejr It is a known fact that police can command a dog to alert, so this whole search was bogus.

  • @whtownejr he has rights none the less.

  • His credibility is not in question...LOL These scumbag cops wasting thousands of tax dollars every fing day. Send a letter and a copy of this video to the Vermont Chamber of Commerce explaining why you will not be coming to Vermont.

  • I have never heard more babbling BS in all my life! Where do you guys get the basis for your arguments against these cops? Have you even studied law at all? Review the books and then see where these guys were out of line. Seriously, don't jump to conclusions- I think you are all just LOOKING for an excuse to argue. What a reach on this one! Thanks for putting out a corrupt view.

  • The smell of marijuana is not probable cause. They were wrong and you were right. They were bluffing!

  • WRONG! Smell of Marijuana is probible cause.

  • I like how these devils just "do their job". They obey no oath to anything other than their own egos. I'd voluntarily trust these monsters with nothing. The intimidation and yes, threats are evidence of lost liberty. Nice how the one tried to obstruct your view. I'm very surprised that they didn't plant anything on your vehicle.

  • Can someone please explain to me why the entire video was not posted? Funny, how that happens! Always two sides to a story especially when viewers are not even getting the whole story from these upstanding citizens. Why dont you explain how soon before the stop you were smoking and doing drugs? Where is that video?

  • The whole video would be very long. Someone asked this same question on the freekeene site -- the videographer offered to send anyone the full uncut version if they compensate him $15 for time, material, and shipping.

  • Part 1 and 2 are about 15 minutes together. The entire uncut video would be arond 53 minutes.

I'm not going to keep youtube viewers by posting a 53 minute unedited videio.

  • I understand due to the video length that you dont want to post the entire video. However, if you are trying to make a point you just cant edit it the way you want to. You can and obviously did, but the view for others is skewed. Even from what I have seen the police were in the right of the law and at no point overstepped their bounds. Surprisingly, if Vermont was a more conservative state, they would never have had to ask for consent and would have searched it without your permission.

  • Yes, now that you mention it, I actually edited out the part where they let Andrew get back in his car, drive to Subway, get dinner, and come back =\... Wtf could I have edited out that would have changed the story?

You really think it's okay for police to hold a man for 2.5 hours on the side of the road for a search because they felt like it? You may say because the dog alerted, but they held him for 25 minutes waiting for a dog. Is that okay? Your schedule works around what cops want?

  • If they have reasonable suspicion that he is breaking the law, then yes. If the dog alerts on the car then it becomes probable cause. You were there obviously! If Andrew had such a problem being there for as long as he was, he should have told the cops no and they would have released him. They would have towed the car and got a warrant. Andrew would have been there for 30 min tops and could have made it to Subway on time and ate his dinner.

  • Assuming they didn't take him in too, how do you suggest he get to work after the cops take his car? Assuming I wouldn't have driven him, as how many people have friends to drive 30 minutes to watch them get searched?

The war on drugs is disrupting lives, sir. Possession of drugs is victimless. The only victims are people like Andrew who have their time, money, or worse thrown away by this system.

Don't turn to "but driving while high...". DUI and possession are completely different.

  • Your right. Stop buying drugs, overdosing and wasting my tax dollars.

  • Sure! Victims don't overdoe, die, screw up kids lives, commit crimes for money, no way! Drugs don't hurt anyone!

  • Alcohol causes all these things sir. Except most people can afford alcohol because it's legal, so there's not as much stealing gong on.

Nevertheless, do you support re-instating prohibition on alcohol just because it's dangerous? Yes, drugs are dangerous. The drug war also dangerous, and it's not stopping the drugs.

  • Your right alcohol does! So why make more problems? So tell me, what drugs do you want to see legalized?

  • Can you tell me what the cops actually did wrong here? I am still not seeing your point. Andrew was even allowed to stay warm in the car while they searched.

  • They held a man for 2.5 hours while they searched for plant matter in his car.

    That is wrong.

You are under the false impression that the drug war means fewer people do drugs. It does not mean that. The drug war has been going on for almost 40 years, and drugs are as prevalent as ever. Legalizing them would not "make more problems."

5 years ago, I was saying the same things you were. I have since realized how wrong I was.

Oh, and I've never done pot.

  • He had the option to say no. Why criticize the police for the laws they swore to uphold. Its not the cops fault he decided to do drugs in the car. Andrew broke the law. Not them. Until the law changes the cops were in the right.

  • Oh, so the law determines morality? Brilliant. Then I guess all those laws against helping runaway slaves, or mandating segregation were a-ok too, and so were the cops enforcing them, because they were just "doing their job".

Grow a moral spine. Immoral laws should neither be obeyed nor enforced. Decent people stand up for what's right, they don't blindly "follow orders". Cowards do that.

  • I cant believe you just called cops cowards! I guess you think soldiers following orders to go to war are cowards too? Youre an idiot and I have no use for your stupidity. Hope you or you family never need the police for anything as you should practice what you preach and handle it yourself.

  • Cowardice is refusal to do what is right out of fear of possible negative personal consequences.

There are more things to be afraid of than bullets. Indeed, people are far more often prevented from doing what is right because of fear for career, or of peer response, than flying bullets.

A person who does what he knows to be immoral simple because he is "following orders" is absolutely a coward. Persons of courage stand for what is right.

  • Oh, and as I've said, I would love to subscribe to an alternative to the police. Unfortunately, they extort their money from me by threatening to steal my home.

And, if any other agency went ahead and tried to provide alternative protection, or justice, the police would go after them -- even if they had acted entirely reasonably.

The police enforce a monopoly, and steal my money to pay for it.

  • Suppose I enforce a monopoly on EMT work, and fund it by extortion. I threaten to harm people if they don't subscribe to my emergency services, and if anyone else tries to provide EMT services, I lock them in a cage.

If you objected to this behavior, and expressed an interest in being able to freely choose your EMT provider, would a reasonable response to your objection be, "Well, if you don't like my services, do your own defibrillation"?

    No, it would not.

  • Wow... How much more are you going to assume about someone you don't know? I broke no law that day. There were no drugs in the car. That point was proven by these thugs. Do you really think I would've videotaped the search, and asked for witnesses if I had something to hide? Despite what your opinion is on the war on drugs... What these cops were doing that night was wrong. I missed out on 3 hours of sleep before a 12 hour day of work, but thats all okay, its for my own good. Right?

  • @GloriousCoconut Neither do I and the same thing happened to me! Born and raised in this state too. They use it as an excuse because they don't want to admit when their "trained dogs" are wrong. There are so many scents out there that can confuse a dog, wind speed/direction , barometric pressure, and fuck if a female dog was in heat and it was sitting in the car the dog would go off. Next time man, sign your name and print: UNDER DURESS. Sorry about the encounter...

  • @KHLionel Pot doesn't do that.

I don't believe all drugs should be legal, but there shouldn't be a war fought over people doing them. You say you can overdose and die but alcohol and almost every legal pharmaceutical does that. You say it screws up kids lives and commit crimes for money, but again alcohol and almost every legal pharmaceutical does that. Why are some legal and others not? And why is there a war fought over a persons decision us use something not on their list of 'okay' drugs?
