I am fadhili williams fun i love his music but why do poeple create soo bad things on him though i dont know his back ground there is no human being who has right to condem another GOD is the one to do so when somebody is gone we just pray for his SOUL to find peace !!!!
Fadhilli was a great man. He was the husband to my autie. They had 7 kids and then he went in the US where he lived for many years. He got a daughter with an american and came back to Kenya with her. AT that time he was already serious sick.. I was a a kid of 10 years at that time. HE was a really a reat man. We remember him inny ways and also throgh his songs. May he rest in peace.
You said he was married to your aunt? Is she still alive? I am a musician living in New York City and this man has been a great inspiration to my music even tough it's not the same genre. I would like to have contact with his family members for that matter. So if you have any contact please send it to me. i owe this man my life, i would like to offer a gift to his family for that. thank you. FEEL JR.
Hi, I am touched by your comment. I know it's true not only for you but many artists around the world have beeninspired by Fadhili Williams. I offer to help you find his family if you'd like to. Thanks and God bless. Anthony , Worcester , MA
@MRMUTOONI yes Fadhili Williams was a straight married man with kids. I new him very well and was his family friend the whole time he was in us. A charismatic guy, good father and husband too. Please don't smear his name with dirty when he is gone and dearly missed by some of us.
takes me back to my childhood.I sing along and amaze my self how i still remember and understand swahili after nearly 40 years being away from the pearl of africa as it was always known.still love uganda and miss it .i promise i will visit soon and go to see my place of birth.....
@aloo892472 i grew up with this song, too! it resonates in my head 30 years later... i find myself at times singing it out of the blue with words and all... and i have never stepped foot in africa... i am amazed how music and poetry can actually connect you to people and places... i feel a strong connection with malaika... u r the only other person i know connected to this music since childhood... wow
Mrmutooni, I did not come up with this statement out of nowhere, but from someone who knew him very well. If you say that you knew him well, then I am sorry for knowing the untruth about Fadhili. Also, I apologise for putting his untrue lifestyle told to me by one of his friends. I am someone who does apologise whenever apology is required and I am sorry once again for knowing the untruth about this legendary Kenyan Musician.
Itake offence on a statement by the said Jakakwaro that the late Fadhili williams turned to be a homosexual. Its unfortunate that the lie is being labelled against the dead defenseless person. I know Fadhili all his time he was in Nj and in Staten island including the fate of his wife and the daughter they had. Please get your act together and pray God to forgive you for your barbaric statement over a dead defenseless person. Fadhili was straight and God knows that.

whether fadhili williams was straight or gay is no business to us, the important is that he left africans a great way of RnB kenyan stlye.

This song I liked from the time I heard the version by Mariam Makeeba and
Harry Belafonte, two artists that i love and respect, so i am really
happy to hear the original version of this classic by Fadhiki William
himself! Thank you Youtube!!

This comment has received too many negative votes show
He was handsome and should have found him a good woman. Instead he turned into homosexuality in America. He became a full blown homosexual.
