Speaking as a person who builds products in the US, and is part of a manufacturing nation that is as productive as China, and doing it with only a 3rd the population, I am really not sure what planet you people live on. Other than the TV planet.
@dannyboy1777 They relied on china itself to import cheap toys to the us. The US was i guess too lazy to actually make stuff on their own, so that's what happened.
Come to think of it, Americans rely on other people to do their dirty work. Mexican immigrants for cheap labor, arabian oil for their cars, and countless others.
this even happened hundreds of years ago. Black and indian slaves, Russians fighting the Germans, and Chinese gold miners.
@theTicklemehellmo Because those companies outsourced their products to China. Not China's fault we wanted cheap labor, they just met our demand with their supply.
@TwistedGentleman huh? i don't even remember making this comment....
but yes, i agree with you, it's the store's fault that they put those chinese products on our shelves. They just make it, but we BUY it. Same goes for illegal immigrants "stealing" others' jobs. It's the employer's fault that they hired them in the first place..
@theTicklemehellmo Well that's not quite right either, it's not the retailer's fault, it's the manufacturer's who are sending to work to China. But honestly, it's not hard to see why. Building stuff in America is expensive, both because of materials and cost of labor, if you're a business you need to look at the bottom line and having your product made in China is the best solution. Time's change, that's all, even products made in America aren't as good as they used to be, we just lost the knack
Imagine a sixties toy gun fight with all of the neighborhood kids involved, and one side was armed with johnny 7s as their main weapon, a multipistol 09 as a side arm, and a secret sam as their backup. There would have been no competition.
@saithix Actually, you'd better thank the government, as they can't sell toy guns without the orange cap on them, because without it cops could actually mistake this for a glock or something.
Yeah - I remember these from the 60s. One thing I realized watching it this time, having a small gun in your handle isn't really going to fool your enemy, since he just spotted you holding a honking huge multipistol. Too funny - and that music - wow!
Yo dawg I heard you like guns, so we put a gun, in your gun, so you can shoot while you shoot.

This is why we lost Vietnam, we didn't have enough guns with hidden guns inside of them!

Why don't they still make these? All they have to do is put an orange tip on it.

@dannyboy1777 yes it is. they replaced all the good quality american products with inexpensive, crappy quality junk.
In fact, that's what's on the shelves today.

@saithix Sure, the "government" (which changes every few years) forced you to decrease demand for toys you think are cool.
