Im British and ive heard both sides of teh argument of whever oliver north is a traitor or a hero well i think he did what he thought was right at the time of the cold war with the contras and i dont really condone what he did and no doubt people have done worse its no different when the US supplied the Afgans with weapons to fight the soviets when they invaded, thats my opinon anyway

What bothers me is that when people think of the US funneling arms in the 1980s they only think of the Contras. No one seems to remember the Afghans who fought off the USSR which resulted in thier defeat and collapse which saved millions more lives than the Contras ever killed.
