The reason pop/rap stars use theatrics is because they really aren't that talented. They can't just be on the stage, performing their songs...they have to distract audiences so that people don't realize just how untalented they really are! DM- totally different story though : ) Man, I love Dave!

Dave gahan is right. Now a days people are into the dance, lights, and smoke. really unaware of the art of the performer. A great concert should'nt be a circus. It is about the connection to the singers voice, lyrics, music, and of course the sensual, and sexy moves. No getto stuff yuk.

As Dave mentioned, when I see bands like DM, The Cure, Foo Fighters, and NIN, these artists use lights and the theatrics, however the music and artist/audience connection is still the most important aspect of the show. I can't stand the pop and rap acts today. The performance becomes completely lost in using over dramatic productions.

His accent is so strange. I think it's kind of a mixture of British and American, isn't it? (I'm not a native speaker, so I wouldn't know exactly.) And it's not a critic, if everybody wanted to feel the need to defend him I've no prbolem with it. :)

Yeah I wanted to say the same thing and I'm not a native speaker either. It could probably be because he travels a lot. If you watch old, I mean really old interviews with him he sounds less English than he used to, at least to me. Anyhow, I like his accent, it kinda reminds me the way I speak English cause I never know which accent should I use cause I'm Hungarian. :D
