  • I would love to see Bruce and Joe trade lines to this song. That would be a classic.

  • Joe sure does Robert Earl proud here.

  • Nice version of the song.

Just to set the record straight, though, in this video Lloyd Maines is not playing "steel," or "steel guitar," as you imply in your video description, but is in reality playing a resonator (what many mistakenly call a dobro because of the brand Dobro that makes resonators). He is just playing slide style guitar on a typical resonator.

  • Appreciate the gentle correction. I guess Dobro Inc. didn't defend their brand, it's fallen into common usage. Picked up a National version several years back for $35 at an estate sale on a very lucky day.

  • Dude, that's f-ing INSANE. I hope you dropped to your knees and thanked the lord, because that was the find of the century.

    I've never seen a National under 500.

  • Joe & Lloyd & Joel

ahhh the the good ole' days

  • Whooohoooo! Wasn't this a night to remember? Thanks for the clip. I was there and got some clips myself. But i was afraid i'd get caught and only got one complete song. Glad you captured the whole thing!

  • OOOh. Love that long tall Texan, Mr. Robert Earl Keen. Me, I was born & bred in the hills of Austin, back when Bee Cave was nothin but a country road.

  • Good enuf! Thanks for sharing.
