this is such a small bit but it's one of ny favorite parts of this show...when they break in with "because reason says..." then the whole company joins in for no day but today, etc....it pretty much knocks the wind out of you...at least it's merciful and gets upbeat afterwards unlike the I'll cover you reprise later on...that's just pure emotional torture

I love the glimpse this gives you into Roger's vulnerability. The haunting "Because reason says I should've died three years ago..." really shows you roger's suffering and gets beneath his gruff exterior and unites him with the other victims of AIDS. However, the line is, I think, more with the original cast, with adam pascal's distinctive and, to some degree, more emotional voice.
