I remember seeing this on BlueJean network when i was 9 in 81. I was already indoctrinated by kiss but this was awesome ! Love rock and metal ! BOC was dark in a trippy way too. Godzilla , Burning for you, Dont fear the reaper ...
I saw The Cult do this song (complete with laser beam eyed Godzilla) at the Madison Square Garden (Fog Hat opened for them) blowing joints and doing lines right there in our seats. It was a much cooler world.
I like rock music as much as the next decent person, but it seems to be people who like this music, are always the ones bring up Justin Beiber all the time, shut the fuck up about him, clearly you like him
I wonder if the giant godzilla breathing smoke was the inspiration for all the larger-than-life monstrous Eddie avatars later in the 80's... This was 1980, Maiden were just starting out, they only had just a head on the wall during this time...Or maybe if bands were using giant props before I might be wrong...
@TheMileaway I kinda agree.. There was Agents of Fortune... they seemed cool...then this stuff ? can you say
Gay ? isn't that illegal ? like retard...There was a click in my High school in the early 80's that worshiped and followed these guy's all over...I kinda went in the direction of Dio / Sabbath,Schenker,Montrose /Gamma,Priest.
i saw this in st louis in 1980 on the black and blue tour with black sabbath. boc opened up and they blew sabbath away. ozzy was gone from sabbath but boc was and is my favorite. seen them first in 78 at superjam at the old busch stadium and many times since
I saw them play this live at the Rose Bowl in July of '82. Journey was headlining. The stadium, which is massive, was completely packed, and when the giant Godzilla rose up from the stage with the glowing eyes and smoke pouring out, the entire crowd went absolutely batshit. It was so so so much fun!
Its so amazing that the youth of those days were able to witness and hear talent and creativity of that caliber. Its rare to even come close to a band in this current time to pull off some wicked stage presence and magic ike this here!
