  • I remember my older brother buying this when i was 11 and i was like, 'why did you buy that? it looks boring' he showed me a review and i still wasnt convinced. Then i played it and i realised how incredible it was. So thank you to my brother for introducing me to my favourite game series ever! :)

  • hmmmm...........this reminds me of a puzzle.....

  • It's so hard to believe this is live.

    They're so good.

  • Accordion at 0:57 makes me cream.

    Everytime.

  • @DUMBOTRON200 No offense taken! The fact that the genre is tango just makes all the Professor Layton OSTs that much more awesome (awesomer? XD)

  • EPIC!!

  • THIS IS WHAT AN EARGASM FEELS LIKE.

  • @DUMBOTRON200 Why would it offend any fans if the genre is tango -_-;;

  • Awesome version! (8

My only complaint is that it seems to lack some sort of edge or quality of the original that makes it feel a little lackluster. Otherwise, total awesomeness. (8

  • freaking LOVE this version, and the orchestra one :)

  • great motivational music!

  • I just met the voice of Layton(Chris Miller) I think I can die happy now. One of my teachers knows him so we got to meet him, and we got his autograph. And we also learned that he is a professor at the local university.

  • @CCCookiexC3 O.O I so wish I was you ^^

  • @DUMBOTRON200 its cool I don't think you're going to offend anyone by sayong the music style is tango:) I've been wondering what kind of music this was for the longest time :)

  • This is now 20% COOLER! Someone really needs to make a Layton MLP:FiM crossover

  • @ongyuh No.

  • @ongyuh what is MLP and FiM?

  • @SummerAngelGirl My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

  • @LastMomentOfLife oh. is their music good?

  • @SummerAngelGirl It's a cartoon. And I wouldn't know because I don't watch it. Look it up.

  • @LastMomentOfLife O_o sorry

    and thanks

  • @DUMBOTRON200 You just made this piece 20% more badass.

  • I can Whistle this. LOL.

  • I jokingly tapped my calendar to see if a hint coin would come out. The weird thing is, a penny fell out of the back of it as soon as I touched it.

  • dark chronicle/dark cloud 2 anyone? Because that's what I hear....

  • this is still being a midi D: but it's great >.<

  • @SweetNightcore A MIDI? Listen to the violin... too "live" to be a midi.

  • Not nearly enough accordion

  • i just watched the movie.

now, whenever i listen to this theme, i eel like crying for some reason

  • I listen to this whenever I'm doing revision for tests or exams.

Now when I do a test/exam, this plays in the background and everything in the paper looks like a puzzle...

  • LOVE IT !!!!

  • my mans goes ham from 0:58 to 1:16

  • You know what would be an epic crossover? Professor Layton and Portal!

  • i havnt played the game i saw the comercial on hulu the song got stuck in my head and now i wanna buy it :D

  • Layton says in the third game, "Every puzzle has a solution, and sometimes that solution is brute force."

  • @hanslee1000 does he really? lol

  • I love how there's more phoenix wright discussion than Layton o_o

  • I was so happy after I saw that this had downloaded correctly into my itunes!!

  • I always drink my daily cup of tea to this song. aaaahhhhh.

OH this reminds me of a puzzle...

  • J'adorrrrreeee!!!!!

  • I have once again listened to this. *faints*

I'm going to play this during something important... I'M PLAYTHING THIS DURING MY WEDDING! Now all I have to do if find a husband who will be willing to complete a puzzle before he says I do while wearing a top hat as the ring bearer says "Professah!"... =/

  • This reminds me of a puzzle >:D !!!

  • THIS is the best music to do your homework with....

......Until you start writing random puzzles in the margin....

  • @msbloweverythingup FOR GODS SAKE PLEASE DONT LISTEN TO GOOD MUSIC WHILE DOING HOMEWORK! My favorite songs ever have lost their emotional touch after I excessively listened to them while doing homework, now when I listen to them, they just remind me of homework.

  • @msbloweverythingup This Homework reminds me of a puzzle.. XD

  • @Dlr64 And then....

This puzzle reminds me of homework D:

  • @msbloweverythingup In the margin? I write them all over the fucking paper!

  • give me a puzzle with this song on and i will own it.

  • I am so proud to be a part of this fandom.

  • @RandomYellowLlama I know right?!

  • Can anyone tell me where to download the OST (and I mean the OST with alll of the live songs and stuff). Thanks. (also, if possible, for all games)

  • i feel smarter just by listening to the theme

  • @888claire WHAT!?

  • @888claire I...how...?

  • I love how "little" japanese games like this one have better soundtrack than big productions like gears of war and halo

  • This song is AMAZING.. OwO I want this game even more now....Hopefully, I'll get it for my birthday.

  • @drwhofan34 great choice just finished the first few days ago it's well worth it a great game. Going for the second one now.

  • I solved all of the puzzles in this game without anyone's help. And I must say I'm fucking proud of it!!! :-) (Especialy the ultimate slide puzzle)

  • 12 people aren't true gentlemen.

  • But, a true gentleman never resorts to violence. D:

(But if he diiiid have a final smash, He could pull out Luke and save him from the ferris wheel while it runs everyone else on the stage over. xD)

  • Forget guitar solos, 1:05 people! ACCORDION SOLO

  • I love the fact that this music makes me 'calm', and at the same time race to ebay.com

  • I already WAS a gentleman before I heard this.

  • catchy.

  • makes me feel like a gentleman.

  • This sent shivers down my spine, PROFESSOR LAYTON FOREVER!!!!!!!!

  • 0:58-1:15 eargasm

  • im guessing this is classical music???? WOW im stupid but whatever it is i like it :) i want to find he sheet music to this but im probably wasting my time because to me this is complicated

  • @Blubber702 It is not that complicated just alot of hammer on and pull off's hahah so I guess it is quite hard.

  • @Blubber702 Sountrack music like this is hard to classify. It's a bit too upbeat and lively too be considered classical, and some instruments used wouldn't be in classical music (i think...)

  • so great xD

    i love it !!!

    professor hershel layton forever

    he's the best <33

    LoVe U sooooooooooo Much ♥

  • Wow, where exactly is this? One of the games? Or you reorchestrated it? Or was it actually played and recorded at a concert or something?

  • *Clicks on the diabolical Box theme* Hmmm... Nah *Goes back to this*

  • My god, I love this version <3

  • professeur layton is the best game ever, it's action, suspens, emotion and reflexion, i love this game,

And in addition it has a beautiful music

  • Oh, sure. EVERYONE cares about the professor. But nobody cares about the little boy who is more likely to die.

  • Why do people want Layton or Phoenix Wright in fighting games? Isn't this the whole point of their franchises? To prove that the power of the agile mind rules supreme?

    Psh, people these days.

  • Comment removed

  • @Thamer4life If layton or Phoenix Wright were in a game proving that brains do in fact beat bronze, they would be O.P.

  • @Thamer4life You must not have played the games then. Phoenix Wright has punched at least one person in the game and has broken down QUITE a few doors.

And Hershel Layton is quite the expert at sword-play.

  • @Zouziiable I'm proud to say I have played them all, and I have enjoyed them all. What you say is true, but these moments and factoids remain very trivial when compared to the COLOSSAL amount of mind-work you have to do in them.

If I leave all those gems unnoticed and concentrate on the rare, trivial moments of aggression in the whole storyline, then I'd have some real rage issues.

You may have played the games, but you certainly have't picked up a single gentlemanly trait from the professor.

  • @Thamer4life It's true, I picked up more of the inner sarcastic and bull headed Phoenix. And I was joking. I, too, think it's weird that Phoenix is in a fighting game. None the less, I like the man and I'd like to see him in action. Let's see how badly Capcom plans to embarrass our favorite blue suited attorney.

And no, Layton really should not be a fighting game, that makes even less sense.

  • @Thamer4life

But Layton did learn how to fight, and Phoenix gets abused so much he might have learned how to handle himself, besides, fighting games are more mental than many other games (ok, maybe some aren't, but having to consider what your character can do, what the opponent's character can do and then going into individuals' strategies and counter strategies and other stuff, it can get complicated at a high level play)

Fighting games are not so simple, quick minds help a lot in them.

  • @lolmanlolmanlolman Okay, you use quick mind, I use button-mash! Odds are, I might get a win streak. Let's see you button-mash your way out of a block-sliding puzzle or a math riddle.

Point is: Being a blindly button-mashing brute in fighting games is an openly used option. Abused sometimes. Could be a life-saving one.

In mind games and brain teasers? No.

And for the love of GOD, that comment is over a month old. Find someone fresh to bother!

Psh, last time I'm getting myself into this crap.

  • @Thamer4life

Lol no need to get so pissed, and I suck (never said I was good), but if you were to button-mash against a pro, you would be beaten up badly.

Also, I don't think the games were trying to prove the superiority of thinking lol, they were just made for an audience that likes this kind of game, not to prove something.

Also, it's more about PW and PL fans that also like FGs to just want a connection between two likes, you say like there's something wrong about it, chill down man.

  • @Thamer4life

Who says you can't win a fight using your head? ;) Layton should totally be in a fighting game. He deserves to be in one just as much as any other video game character does.

  • @Thamer4life remember the diabolical box do you remember when he fights with tthe guy that was supposed to be a vampire? he fighted so that means he can fight!

  • @joryanlensser You've already forgotten Anton's name? Tut.

  • @LeilaisCRAZY12 haha i forgot all the names except for luke, and professor layton

  • @joryanlensser XD LOL

  • @Thamer4life Well capcom obviously listened to these people since the've put pheonix wright in a game

  • @Thamer4life

Ya know....people with your kind of attitude are the reason we can't have nice things. :( Why lessen the options? Why stunt creativity? I say do anything and everything possible!

  • @bombkirby And now look at Wright in MvC3. A disappointment. His attacks are ridiculous, the voice acting is dull and all wrong, and they MURDERED my favorite PW tune: Cornered. Phoenix Wright turned into a total joke that even a 5-year-old would find childish.

I'm not against creativity at all; I cherish it. And because I do, I'm careful with it. And because I am, I saw that failure coming from miles away.

Your argument was compelling. I want to talk to you more in private.

    Good day, sir.

  • @Thamer4life I disagree with your opinion, i actually liked how they made him, and his moveset is one of the most creative ones i've seen, sure, the voice acting is not perfect, and they could have made better the cornered theme, but i loved his moveset and the way he changes from "investigation", to "court" and "cornered" mode, you can't say it was a total disappointment, nor that they were actually creative when making him...maybe it's too soon to say the audio is bad too...

  • @Thamer4life That is an excellent point

  • @Thamer4life Yes, but technically the SSB series doesn't use the real characters. And plus, Layton uses force when necessary and I'm sure Phoenix would too. I know Captain Falcon's backstory states he a bounty hunter, but in essence he is a racer. He can fight if he wants, but it's not his calling. Layton knows how to fence, both him and Phoenix weren't born yesterday and we don't know every single thing about their past, so it is entirely possible for them to be in a fighting game.

  • @Thamer4life That's the entire point of Umineko no Naku Koro ni, as well, more or less, but they made a fighting game out of that.

  • @Thamer4life pretty much all of the professor layton games have a fight-scene in them, if only in the cut-scenes,

  • @Thamer4life Maybe that's why Wright's final attack is logic-based? (as much logic as you get from Wright anyway )

  • やっとみつけた・・・・!!

  • @TheAhgmail thats true! :-)

  • Omg, the flute solo. Absolutely AMAZING! <3 Professor Layton

  • I thought just entered my head.

What about a live Professor Layton movie?

The challenge is finding someone with that much intuition...Let's ask professor Layton how to solve this puzzle!

  • Comment removed

  • @zeldafan1997 puzzle solved, there is a movie with your description - professor layton and the eternal diva.

  • @XxMaplerzxX nope it isn't

zeldafan wants a live movie with real people

  • @MrChocodemon What so a Professor Layton movie but not in cartoon form?

  • @XxMaplerzxX Precisely! *Puzzle Solved theme*

  • @zeldafan1997 That's preposterous!

  • don paolo created 12 accounts so that he could press the thumbs down button 12 times

  • The worst part was the fact that it ended!!! I nearly cried of the awesomeness (seriously!)

  • GOD DAMMIT!

If I could marry a song I'd marry this one! XD

  • wow it is from instrument!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is amazing

  • FUCK

    FUCK

    OMAIGAWD

    FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKKKKK.

    D:

    I SOLVED THAT DAMN THING!

and also, this doesn't remind 12 people of a puzzle.

  • I love the whole song but I must admit, my favorite part is the violin at the beginning! It's something about it that soothes me... ~o~

  • just great

  • I can't wait for specter's flute!

  • Truly a melody only a true gentleman can appreciate!

  • dad: what are you going to do?

Son: i am going to beat up 12 Haters!!!

  • 11 people are not true gentlemen.

  • the violin and the flute are amazing accompiniments

  • Don Paolo! pressing the dislike button 11 times will not make things any better for you!

  • Curious village is the best one. i hated it when i had to get all those picrats to listen to this awsome song.

  • Why are there 11 dislikes?

  • @Zeerozae Because Don Paolo is being a douche again. 8U

  • @dragonlover7196 but I like Don Paolo.../ o\

  • Beautiful!!!

  • @sumowow it would result in an ultimate puzzle paradox, that would be one hell of a puzzle itself

  • What would happen if he saw a puzzle, that reminded him of another puzzle?

  • CAN WE SAY BOMB?!?!

  • Simply amayzing... =3

This is may favorite theme in all the game...

  • Best song EVER!!

  • The reason I'm not selling any of my Layton games even though I've finished them all is because of the music. It's gorgeous. I leave my DS on all night until it runs out of battery while I fall asleep to the music <3

  • This one is from the Diabolical Box, isn't it ?

But I do love Professor Layton soundtrack, because "this reminds me of a puzzle !"

  • This one is from the Pandora Box, isn't it ?

But I do love Professor Layton soundtrack, because "this reminds me of a puzzle !"

  • 11 people are not true gentlemen.

  • anybody know what the main instrument being played from 0:23 to 0:40 and the again at 0:59 to 1:15 is? I just can't identify it.

  • @WholesomeToast I bellieve it's an accordion. Not sure, though.

  • @WholesomeToast accordion XD.

  • accordion

  • @WholesomeToast Harmonic

  • This reminds me of Kingdom Hearts for some reason...

  • Why it has to end :(? I demand a bug that makes it loop until the end of time RIGHT NOW!!

  • Me: *dials 911*

Inspector Chelmey: This is Chelmey, chief of Scotland Yard. What is your emergency?

Me: Yes, Inspector, I'd like to turn myself in for a crime.

Inspector Chelmey: And what would that be?

Me: I raped the thumbs up button.

  • holy crap this is a surprisingly good song!

  • 11-idiots-don't-know-the-meaning-of-what-music-is-.-

  • This song makes me wanna walk the streets of Italy, or France just because I can~

  • Incredible.

  • I just don't get WHY someone would dislike this... *presses the thumbs up button to counteract the unjust dislikes*

  • beautifull song

  • i love professor layton:it's very great!

  • Holy shit why re the orchestral versions of layton songs so amazing. All of them...good god.

  • my favourite part is from 0:00 to 3:37

  • I think this was the version used in Eternal Diva

  • @rockhoundhigh they did use an orchestrated version but not this one. You can tell by the violin solo glissandos which are more recognisable in the Eternal Diva version

  • If I could only listen to 1 song for the rest of my life, it would, without a doubt, be this song.

  • Comment removed

  • Man, I never should have dismissed this as a shallow game a year ago. I'm so glad that I not only finished this, but enjoyed it as much as I did.

I'm ready for the sequel. I'm ready for 5 sequels.

  • i cant wait for spectre's flute and the 5th game also.

the one thing i cant wait for is the next game that follows after unwound future. when we have big luke again. and a new adventure follows for us to go

  • @autumnidiot "big luke" will be in jail... unless you mean 13 year old luke as opposed to 10 year old luke?

  • @OriginalAkivara yeah that what i meant......you know regular luke......whose gonna be 13 now....

  • Luke, there it is, the Golden Apple!

  • The professor and Luke in Super Smash Brothers Brawl.

Now THAT would make an interesting game :'D

    Man I love these games!

  • @spanabanana I can see him attacking by pointing at people.

    "And that person... was YOU!"

  • Meh! 11 People defiantly don't have enough picarts to finish the game ;)

  • This reminds me of a puzzle~!
