Fond memories of this great time at the pierhead, i remember dad taking me there in the 60s on a sunday where men would walk up and down the front with sandwich boards on reading "The end is nigh" and a crowd watching a man escaping from a chained up green sack!! with a lady walking amongst the crowd with a cup collecting monet for his marvellous feat.
I lived in speke in 1968 and used to jump on the 82c on a saturday morning down to the pier head great days harry
me and me mates traveled all over livvy from kirkby,h8 went from the station in kirkby to the pier head excellent thats when scousers were proud, tough, loving people it was great to be a kid then, 50-60 right on, byetheway quality is great
Thanks Stephen for your comments, glad you liked the video.
Sadly I have very little from that time, and what I do have converts very poorly. In the early sixties I had been a driver with Crosville in Liverpool, but didn't record anything. What wasted opportunities, if only, if only!
The Crosville terminus was at the South end of the Pier Head at Mann Island, with the bus stops spread in front and to the side, of the Harbour Board building.

This was the year i was born in Wavertree, great to see how things were back then, thanks for putting this on.

Marvellous footage, a real pleasure to watch. To me, this was the heyday of Liverpool's buses. And the Pier Head was the place to be.
More please, including, if you have it, some scenes of the Crosville buses. Their terminus, I recall, was close to that of the Corporation buses.
