  • Irwin Allen, TV's master of science fiction is sorely missed in 2000's. Few of today's TV science fiction match the imagination, awesome writing, plot, narrative and even special effects of many of these early 1960's series, Voyage, Land Of The Giants, Time Tunnel etc.

  • its like 1960's SeaQuest DSV!!!

  • As with all Irwin Allen shows, the premise was so limited that it became difficult to come up with new shows. How many underwater shows can you do? So they came up with the flying sub for example to expand possibilities. LIS, Time Tunnel, Land of Giants all had this major flaw. Good ideas for movies, but not weekly TV shows. LIS and Voyage had some great shows the first season or so.

  • 0:39 thats mike kellin he is a gangster in the untouchables episode the white slavers and an indian in the black saddle episode apache trail

  • SirReal1958 - You are full of shit. The latter season episodes were tailored for a juvenile audience, I'll concede. But the acting and plots during season 1, most of season 2 and occasionally even in seasons 3 and 4 were top-notch. Richard Basehart was a great actor, David Hedison got better under his tutellage and many - if not most - of the guest star were good actors.(And the early episodes of Lost in Space were good TV fare, too!)

  • @65kowalski Hear, hear!

  • I always called it 'Voyage to the Bottom of the Barrel'.

  • @jbmbryant The best twisting of the title was MAD Magazine's parody, "Voyage to See What's on the Bottom"!

  • 0:11 to 0:15 is hilarious, it looks like a drunken party!

  • nada muere si lo mantenemos vivo

  • nada se muere si uno lo mantiene vivo

  • You can't deny the truth. Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea was Lost in Space underwater on Earth. Same bad acting, same bad special effects, same bad plots written by college freshmen screenwriters.

  • @SirReal1958 No, Voyage was STAR TREK underwater. Land of the Giants was Lost in Space, but in a different setting.

  • @danzamphi The seaview moved from right to left the starship enteprise from left to right we read from left to right in this hemishere so the seaview had more prominence than the water outer space had more prominence than the enteprise

  • @danzamphi the first time i watched star trek when it was originally on at this girls house i didnt know what it was sort of like voyage in space didnt really get into it until reruns

  • @SirReal1958 What truth? That you have a low opinion of a 1960's TV series that most people who are viewing this clip remember fondly? No, I won't deny that. The rest of your comment was just funny. Oh, and just 1 point: VTTBOTS pre-dates LIS on TV by a year .

  • I can remember there being an underwater spider in one episode.. So long ago.

  • It's a shame that fame eluded some of these fine actors after the show ended. David Hedison remained somewhat recognizable, as did Basehart, but the others simply vanished. Perhaps they needed to fire their agents.

  • @SeeTimeRun391 kowalski [ del monroe ] played a villain in walking tall he died recently

  • Love that 8 window front!

  • Let's be a bit nostalgic...

Oh my, where a such man like Harriman Nelson or the gallant Captain Crane today?

Not to mention the 'always-on- duty' Exec!

  • @go1567 There was a uhf station wliw that would give you a free uhf antenna that had old tv shows i sent them a letter requesting they show voyage to the bottom of the sea on sunday nights like the good old days and they did it .

  • @spacepatrolman How lucky you were to live near a kid-friendly TV station. I can't tell you all the letters I've sent over the years to local stations, requesting the return of '60s TV fantasy, only to have my suggestions fall on deaf ears.

  • freakin' A man! just watched 2 episodes last night. "the ghost of moby dick" and the one about the president needing an operation but that chick w/ the cool glasses and death ray is gonna pulverize his innards to dust.
