Most midfielders hit a downfall around his age. His injuries have probably been the real reason why Liverpool haven't REALLY performed in the last few years in the League.

I can understand that what he said is hypocritical, but Dunphy has a point. Gerrard has dragged Liverpool through some tough times, but when was the last time he performed to a degree that warranted applause from all over the world post 2005? I'd throw him in with Kaka - a great player on his day, a top player, but I can't remember a great performance since 2007. Well past his best.
