Ms.Harvey gives us all we are "entitled" to in one realm -the music ,PERIOD.We don't need to know every personal detail about any artist .The musical excursions she has taken us on can't be repaid with disrespect for her as an individual..
Yeah an excellent interview. Dave Fanning is Ireland's answer to John Peel - he was playing Polly on Irish radio before anyone had even heard of her - he knows his stuff and is very modest about it.
A fantastic interview! When asked about the notion of her next work of songs becoming a chart topper was "laughable" she had to have been thinking of the songs that were to be the glorious and haunting White Chalk. It's number 1 in my heart and will forever be an album I turn to like a friend.
Well she records all her songs at home, but those are just demos, so then she re-does them in the studio. She only re-did some of them for uh huh her.. in LA I think, it should say in the leaflet for the album
A good interviewer. He was direct and put her on the spot and captured some really fresh honest answers from one of the greatest musical artists (or artist of any kind) of our time.
My interest in Polly waned a bit in the last few years, but since the release of White Chalk and especially seeing her do the album live, I realise what a true artist she is: restless, penetrative, unpredictable; one of our few geniuses, really.

I thought she recorded uh huh her at home like her 4-track demos album. Did she go to a studio for any portion of that cd?
