This is terrible... you guys should simplify the orthography a little bit. Why writing "seanathair" when you can write "shanáher"? Many more people would learn it. Heck, even Germans removed some special letters from their language to simplify it.
@Iceman603 I like the video, but I find Gaelic orthography terrible. Sorry, it may make no difference to you, but it makes a LOT of difference for a Spanish speaker like me. I had enough learning English, with it's whimsical pronounciation, where you don't know if "Fulton" is said "falton" or "fulton" until you stay as an ignorant asshole trying to pronounce it in the obvious, wrong way, LOL!
@20October02 This is Irish Gaelic, or Gaeilge, related to Scottish Gaelic. I believe (not certain) that this is teaching Munster Irish; Irish has three approximate dialects.
I think I'm fluent in English (perhaps not in grammar), so I wanted to learn this (by inspiration by "Gangs Of New York", plus I'm Irish, so why not?). Irish is like arc welding; it's hard but it's fun (In my opinion, anyway)
I live in belfast and olny started 2 learn irsh last week i wish i was like my friend in learnt as a child this was really helpful 2 me but i found mother and father really hard 2 say
i wish i had learned this from a child - would be so much better- there are sounds my brain cant even ask my mouth to produce...... i hate that english is my first language , makes you lazy cause you know that so many people world wide speak it ... i am so lacking a culture
Is it even at all possible to ever learn this language? The spelling looks like someone sat on the keyboard... I mean come on, dheartháireacha pronounced as dru har a hu?
@gaudetjaja it's old, that's all i have to say, when they transcribed the language from Ogham, they must have not had much knowledge of the Roman script. People still know it, and it's possible to learn. Spanish is the idiot's language because it's fairly easy to learn. This...I think you need some sort of degree.
@Thrawn6211 It has a logical spelling system - certainly not written by people 'who had not much knowledge of the script' (what?) - but yes it is an old one that sometimes doesn't reflect pronunciation changes (e.g., "is" pronounced as "is" and not "ish"). On the whole it sticks to the rules. And it's not a particularly hard one to learn with the right resources. Each language is difficult in its own right. No language is an "idiot's" language.
holy scheite, ye don't know how much this Gaelic relates to modern Persian

Hello, is this language Gaelic or another dialect from Ireland?

@20October02 Irish is a Gaelic Langugage, as opposed to slavic or germanic, latin etc. Irish is its own language in its own right though

This would be so easy to learn. My relatives/ancestors are Gaeilge, and I would almost consider this over Rosette Stone.

Really good stuff here...
...It's a pity that yer wan is so quiet compared with yer man.
Try work on the sound for future episodes, and it'll be even more kickass :D
And i like the way u got a proper culchie to do the 'As Gaeilge' voice-over. Respect!

I liked the soothing music in the background with it :)
that's cool "fear" and "bean" and the "s" sounds like it makes a "sh" sound.
It looks pretty difficult to learn though, I mean it's so different
