So, closed caption is not so helpful for them to understand videos. There is almost no sign language translation for books, movies or TV programs, and the few existent are not so accessible.

There are millions of deaf persons around the world. Less than 1% has been impacted with the Gospel. For much of them is really hard to understand reading, because written language depends completely on hearing. Each letter is a written symbol that represent a sound. Deaf people don't hear the corresponding sound, and for that reason, written language is abstract for them, is meaningless. There is no relation between sign language and written language.

Unfortunately some people don´t go beyond the storybook style bible stories. Which is another reason why many Christians are bible illiterate. Even in this broadcast, they talk about David, his jealous brothers and "Gizmo." Who´s Gizmo? It's so sad that to teach "the bible" we have to dumb it down.
