  • best sound ever!!!

  • god damn your drums sound good.

  • You're the first guy I see on youtube that really deserves a kit like this and gets the most out of it, cheers man!

  • im getting a travis barker kit from music 123 for $800 do you think they would be a good drumset

  • why arent the lugs off set?

  • holy shit i want to learn that jungle beat

  • boring like a double bass drummer ... ahah

  • Kit sounds a beast. Nice playing by the way

  • Sick as hell. Nice work!

  • cool set and nice drumming

  • Looks fast forwarded big time,

  • @VicenteKidd i never noticed first time round, but it really does, not at the start but slightly into it it starts to look like it's been fast forwarded.

  • Nice drum kit! It's very well tuned! Awesome drum playing too!

  • Awesome drumming. How did you record this? Is it just the camera's mic? If so, what camera?

  • Orange county drums are by far the best drum company around!!!

  • Sounds so good!

  • NICE! =)

  • who needs a double bass pedal? well drummers like george kollias and travis smith need them for the trash metal or death metal (all metal) beats. anyone can heel toe. ik travis barker can

  • @happyxtonez , yeah metal requires a double kick for those fast 16th notes. however, a lot of drummers are beginning to use a double pedal for doubles and triplets... which is fine, but limits your left foot work on youre hi-hat. and I dont heel-toe.. I just toe:) thanks for the comment-dar

  • @spongedar1 i wish i can do that technique, but im asian.. and short lmao

  • @spongedar1

limits your left foot work on your hi-hat? I think not

with a double pedal, your foot will be doing a lot more than it ever has, if you use it

  • @JosiahSCooper Double pedals don't limit the amount of work your left foot is doing, they limit the amount of work your left foot is doing on the hi hat, which is exactly what he said.

  • Sweet right foot !

  • Sick drumming man! What size is the kick?

  • lol you look like your in fast motion. sick kit and great chops

  • sweet groove. very nice. =)

  • sick sounding kit mate. so hard to find them in the UK :( your single pedal work has inspired me to practice it loads and sell my double pedal lol who needs one? xD

would it be cool to ask what foot technique your using? it looks kinda like the slide but maybe its heel-toe or something. cheers

  • the kit sounds nice. I want one.

  • great sound ;D

  • how much ply man?

  • @AleeeDrums 6 ply maple all around. snare is a 10ply

  • nice tunning

  • Nice job ese!!!!

    JD

  • hey man im a fellow drummer!! can you explain the lick you played at 0:26???

  • wow, every single time i used to see the orange county drumsets in musicians friend, i thought that they were just another beginners company. but wow, these sound incredible!

  • well ocdps made in California are pro-level custom drums. but now guitar center is selling a mid-level kit called the OCDP avolon series or newport series, these are made over seas and are mass production. SO if you want an OCDP make sure its a custom one from their small shop

  • @spongedar1 true that, the Avalon is not bad at all btw, its just not a custom kit, but still sounds great..

  • they are also selling custom ocdp scratch n dents in store only tho not online

  • that kit sounds like a masterpiece

  • Super sound. Especially the bass drum sounds good. And another thing, your drumming is very good.

  • dude, are you part of a dixieland band from california?

  • dixieland?

  • i coulda swore two years ago, is aw you playing at the sacramento dixieland jazz festival in a band called "the Raisin Babies" my bad! still good chops bro.

  • hey how do u have your bass drum tuned? it sounds incredible!! i have a kit by ocdp similar to this one.

  • NIce drummin, you rock. eh, wat kinda camera do u use to record this?

  • dude.! can you message me and explain how to do that songo groove you did @ 0:28 ! very good and nice kit !

  • hey bro. that beat is hard to explain, just look up basic latin rhythms and then you can get creative with it as I did. ill see if i can find a video that brakes down a latin groove for you- dar

  • i love that attack and control OCDP always has

  • dude do u do those quick doubles with just one foot? shit i'm trying to get mine faster but i just tense up and its sloppy. you got any suggestions or technique? i used to do heel toe but it put pressure on my calf. now i just play heel up and just try to give an extra push for the double, but i don't know if i'm doing it rite.

  • it deff takes practice just like anything else... try doing 2hits with hands and 2 with foot... start very slow and work up the speed. doubles are a great way to speed up your kick foot

  • yea dude doubles are sick great for solos... and yea i agree with u who needs a double bass pedal just check out travis barker and jojo mayer no double bass required lol

  • Sick sound man, I love the tone.

  • you have one comfortable kit...

  • Nice... very nice... are those the original heads? I mean, if I buy an OC drum set will sound like that just out of the box? Those heads are GREAT!

  • no they are evans g2s.......,however, the sound of any drum is determined by proper tuning.

  • Yep, that's the thing, those heads are great, and I just thought that any drum company is cheap enough not to sell their drums with such nice heads on (just kidding). Very nice tunning by the way, mean it. And nice playing, too. Regards from Mexico. Peace.

  • Very cool, have you ever thought about trying the Guitar centers drum off, sing ups are going on right now at your local guitar center check it out mite be your new chance at another free ocdp kit. (that is if u win)

  • whoah 5 stars

  • Hey what are the dimensions of your drums?

  • what kind of snare drum is that??

  • its an orange county vented snare

  • but you played the snare without the "I don't know the name" (the metal-thing under the snare that you can use or not... right?

  • my orange county doesnt sound nearly as good as this one :(

  • any drum kit can sound good with proper tuning, look at some tuning videos and ur drums can sound just like this- dar

  • is it an avalon

  • i just recently learned how to do that double kick thanks to you bro

  • dude you and your kit sound amazing.

  • what is the size of the rack tom and bass drum?

  • the racktom is a 12"/6", and the kick is 22"/20"

  • ouais c facile qd on accélère la video.....

  • wat drumheads do u hav on your toms

  • those are evans g2 clears. I actually like remo pinstripes more.......

  • 0:28 is an awesome beat, what type of style is it? oh yeah.. ur toms sounds amazing!

  • both videos are pretty similar... sick skills though bro!

  • So, I heard you can take a piece of metal and unscrew the pedal itself, and screw the piece of metal to it, extending the pedal, according to your foot length... So you can get 2 strokes out of 1 foot, from your heal, and front. I coulnd't see if that's what you did, but if it isn't... That is one fast foot you got there...

  • wow that sounds confusing.... I just use my toes- thanks for the comment- dar

  • my 2nd try at leaving a comment lol

awesome playing and video. i love to hear those double-stroke bass to tom and snare rolls. i'm always working on mine. what size are your drums? 20x22 bass? i like your tom sound a lot. evans g2 clear heads? i like the video speed...60fps is awesome.

    i'm subscribed.

  • i have no clue about vid speeds. this video was taken on a picture camera and put on youtube, no editing or anything. thanks for the comment- dar

  • Comment removed

  • why does this video make me dizzy

  • very sweeeeeet

  • shut up about the drums.. dude you're playing amazing!

  • ocdp? please. your paying for the name. you could get a kit tat sounds the same or better for 1000 dollars less

  • 1000 less? thats still an expensive drum-kit. - thanks for the comment- dar

  • Dude I love it... but this camera makes your snare sound funny. Almost like you have the snares off.. haha But yeah, sick drumming! My OCDP is almost done... only another week or two!

  • my snares were off on purpose for half the clip. enjoy your new kit! -dar

  • I wish to have one of those sets but someone that has one told me that they wont stay in tune for long...and start to sound bad after 2 hours or so...and I hate to admit is true...the avalon and a custom made one indeed goes out of tune whan played for very long...are you having tipe of trouble with yours???

  • no, does your friend have a real OCDP, or a mass production newport series? My drums stay in tune for months. just like the sound in the video

  • one has an avalon and his brother has a custom made that he managed to get to puerto rico...and the custom one is more durable in that matter

  • screw DW those are drums of heaven!

  • haha, well DWs are very nice too. I owned one until I sold it for a down payment for the OCs. But I must say that OCs are all about detail!!!, even the screws are stainless steel...... thanks for the comment- dar

  • clean foot chops man...

  • its not sped up.. its playing 30fps at 24fps, so it looks messed up.

  • I LOVE OCDP!

  • nice chops man, sweet set to, always wanted an oc

  • I love the sound of orange county ♥

  • dude you don't need to speed urself up to impress people you got style...it wasn't the hands tht show it it was the speedy head jestures ... all luv no hate bro

  • thanks.. and I can totally see what you are saying... but honestly I wouldn't even know how to speed up a video. This was shot with a picture camera and thats why the clip is exactly 1min and cuts-off. its an awful video recording and the framing looks weird. I will post a better video soon with a real camera. I can actually play even faster than this...... but speed is not everthing

  • Nicely done bro. Love the rolls. Keep up the good work. Smoking drum set too bro...

  • figuring as i have a slow right foot i guess id need a double lol but WOWW you're good

  • do you get that sound outta the ki twithout adding anything? plz reply

  • well OC's are maid with keller shells, and if tuned correctly the shells will have a strong full sound...... I use a 2ply head on top and 1ply on bottom. the thickness of the shell matters too, mine are 6ply shells so they sing when you hit them.

  • Woah, good foot work. I've been working on the same skill though I'm not as good as this yet.

  • hey dude. mad respect you got really good chops ^_^

  • ocdp bites

  • this is sped up

  • its not. u can see the cymbals return to the normal place normally

  • I agree, these people only say its sped up cause theyre jealous, probably of this guys speed i suppose.

  • Even if it was sped up, he'd have to be dead on timing wise for it to sound like that. Either way he's good.

To say that actually makes no sense.

  • your comment are words of wisdom! most drummers are only impressed by speed, when in reality hand control at lower tempos is more challenging. I practice both slow and fast tempos, but this video is not sped up, I can actually play even faster than that- dar

  • Yeah, the best drummer I've ever played with used a click during practice sessions. He actually made ME a better guitar player. I found myself nailing Petrucci riffs when I hadn't prior.

Furthermore, I'm impressed by a drummer who can a) write a line that when heard solo the guitar/vocal riff is identifiable and b) do beats that are unexpected and anticipate new ideas in the song.

  • we use clicks when recording but not practicing. good idea though

  • wow man, without mics sounds amazin'

  • hey man, huge respect and great technique..!

  • ur playing is nicer, see you at namm?

  • yeah! should be a good one this year

  • My foot is faster but nice job.

    What technique do you use?

  • sweet! lets see a video... My foot is a lot faster than in this clip, ill post another clip when i get a chance. I use the toe technique

  • damn that was sick

wat did u do to get ur foot so damn fast?

  • I didnt own my own drumset my whole life. so I would practice with a bass pedal on my couch!! haha ghetto. I finally got my own kit tho... and I love it. I grew up playing every sunday at my church.

  • O_O same here... scary - after playin at my church for a couple of years i finally saved up enough money for my own decent set. You are a lot better than me tho :D lol

  • killer set dude

  • Amen brother! Who needs a double pedal?!?

  • kit sounds excellent!

  • Sick shit man, i have an OCDP just like yours.

    10x5.5

    12.6.5

    16x14

    22x21

    14x6 snare

  • sweet man! you should put up a vid. mines a 12x6 14x14 16x14 22x20 and a 14x6 vented snare.

  • obviously you dont need a double pedal for your style, but for beats where you do straight 16'ths or triplets or even 32'nds you definately need one.

  • i like your chair llol

  • thanks. this is at my friends coffe shop, the bigboy gibraltar thrown was at home:), this is actually only half my kit in this clip........

  • just wondering the dimensions of the rack tom. i am with risen drums and i just ordered a 7x12 rack.

  • 12"/6". a 12"/7" will sound awesome too. cheers....

  • What did it cost ya? is that snare vented? it sounds sick

  • fucking sweet

    very travis barker

    i like ur style

    and kit

  • amazing single kick consistancy, what kind of pedal? how long have you been playin?

  • its an iron cobra power-glide, ive been using it for about 7 years and its my favorite kickpedal.... ive been playing at my church every sunday since i was around 7 or 8. I am 24 now.

  • Hi cool pedal, but seriously use doubble bass cuz u can do so many more beats i might have video up soon

  • what a sexxyy kit.

  • That's with the snare strainer turned off right? I love the sound of those clear heads, they sound better than the Remo Ambass. coated that I put on my Pork Pie Kit.

  • lol i got a new set a while ago,$2300, lol i could sleep with it yet alone stare at it

  • hey just wondering

how long have you been playing

  • around 15 years. I never took lessons and never was abble to have a drumset at home so I just played at my church every sunday. This is the first kit I own.. I still wake up and just stare at it sometimes......haha. thanks for the comment man- dar

  • its so badass looking and sounding i love the color

15 years! thats a long time cool

ive been playing for almost 3 years and taking lessons from Mike Johnston but um check out my vids

  • whooo no double bass

    just like me

what your first tom depth size it sounds good

  • its a 12/6" deep. thanks for the comment

  • your kit sound is giving me an orgi fucking hell it's lovely!

  • whats the tonel and rebound after tonal difference between a sjc, truth and ocdp when they all use the same maple or birch shells?

  • Well all these companies use keller shells, pork pie also uses keller and I belive DW also did in the 90s. What makes the diff in sound is the precision on the edges, sanding, and even a laquer finish on the inside can make a diff sound out of a shell. OCDP gives you any option you want from 4ply shells up to 20ply. So really you can achieve any sound you want on any drum around your kit.

  • thanks ever so much for replying, i knew they were custom drums but u answered my main question as my mate bought an sjc and ocdp 14 by 6.5 and they pretty much sound iddentical both 7 ply..thanks mate

  • haha yeah they are both keller shells. tunning has a lot to do with it too.

  • didnt someone buy out keller and now there going to stop making the shells.

p.s i cant stop listening to this it sounds so good

  • if this is your practice set up which is an ocdp..i can´t imagine your real kit hahaha

    nice sound(Y)

  • wow. come listen to me and my pork pies.

  • hey man, your a good drummer, I love the sound of ocp drums, if I make some money im gonna get them too. Juegas muy bien.

  • wow. your drums sound so good! i would like to hear them on mics.

  • nice kit man

    also nice throne

  • haha this is my practice setup. its at my friends coffe shop so I dont take all my stuff!!! my kit is actually a 6 piece with more zildjians.. and a gibraltar "big boy throne! haha. thanks for the coment man- dar

  • damnnn you have a hella nice drum kit at your friends coffee shop

  • did you spend all the money you had on the drums and couldnt buy a throne? lol just kiddin bro sounds good

  • MIKE JOHNSTON

  • right on brother

  • You are indeed worthy of an OC drum kit. =]

  • you're badass.

but you don't need double bass pedal unless you play breakdowns really, and you want to go with the chugging. but single bass is only for gaydowns

  • "who needs a double bass pedal?" Damn right :P

Nice playing dude. You're freakin good.

  • hm i think you deserve this kit.

  • your orange county kit sounds amazing but you have to realize that you could have bought a pearl or a tama set for significantly less and gotten comprable sound.

  • um well it really depends on what sound you are looking for. OCDP's are significantly louder than most drumkits, and also tend to have more resonance ass well as control. If you play an OCDP next to a tama and pearl. the OCDP will over power the others and have fuller sound. this video clip was made with a small cybershot picture camera, but even that little camera captured the full sound these kits are designed to have. thanks for the comment man.......

  • true cause my tama kit isnt that loud, thats why im saving up for an ocdp or sjc

  • what size is your rack tom. please let me know im ordering mine soon and yours is the size that i want.

  • its a 12"/6". you might also consider a 12"/7". it will have a little fuller sound.

  • wow your amazing ha ive been saving my money for so long trying to afford an orange county set they sound amazing ha and you sound even better

  • forgiveness is that my English is not very good soy de mexico I speak Spanish. I meant to play something more

  • I love your kit this beautiful! another video where you can get off the taps

  • what do you mean by get off the tabs?

  • hey i just want to say that if would live where you live i would start a band with you and become famous cause you are a fucking awesome drummer!!!!!!!!

  • the kit sounds amazing

  • with some practice you could get pretty good on single bass drumming

  • I am using a single pedal....

  • i know - you did say

  • great drumming and great sounding drums man. what hea ae u using and how do u have the tuned (tight, loose etc.)

  • thanks man. I am using evans g2clear tops, and g1 bottoms. As far as tunning.... I switch it around, dependding on what type of music im plaing, in this vid they are tunned little on the tight side.- dar

  • Ah I dont like the snare to much, but everything else is gold.

  • yeah the vented snare deff sounds better in person, and that was a picture camera that took this clip,- thanks for the coment bro- dar
