  • Are you in a band???

  • you kick ass man

  • You Have surely done Phil Ehart justice on this one keep up the good work.

  • great cover, but "most incredible sounding snare drum?" It sounds like it's not even chained. Like a bongo... lol

  • You never have made a video that disappoints me. Every one of your covers is great and unlike the others, it sounds like your playing the drums not trashcans.

  • Great job man! nice cam angles and my brand to (lol)just started with the video thing on here have a few i did with simmons sd5k kit ck um out be honest i can ytake it (lol) said i would never own a electronic kit best $350 i ever spent keep on rockin bro

  • is there a benefit to having the ride where it is or do you just like it there? it seems like it would make fills harder.

  • @AroDynamicFalcn1 I just find it a comfortable position for my right arm. Many drummers set up their kit like this. Fills don't seem to be a problem.

  • i like your drum set and awesome drumming :)

  • Great drumming, effortless, and way too smart of a musician. Clean, smart , and fun to watch. Keep it up...

  • Awesome job!!! More vids!!!! Try Cure by Metallica!

  • Definitely a fun one to play! I am loving your videos. Great to see another old school drummer.

  • wow the buzz strokes at 1:00 are crazy man!

  • @lomodozo LOL...those are actually done by accident. I tend to rest my left hand on the snare causing the buzz strokes.

  • @gallupi1965 well either way the whole thank sounds amazing GOOD JOB!!

  • pro

  • nice job man! you make it look almost effortless.

  • I can't believe I just came across your videos now....you are a fantastic drummer. I would love to have half the talent you have. The best part is that you're covering awesome songs.

  • whats the neighbours say..

  • My dear amigo Domenic... you have the coolest camera shots and also an incredible sound. Please explain how do you film your videos and get your awesome sound without distortion. Can I ask what equipment do you use? Thanks for the insight and inspiration. Greetings from a fellow Mexican drummer!

  • @RockbertoRocks Thanks for the compliment Rockberto! I have 2 videos on my channel explaining my equipment and how I record my covers. Look for "Gallupi's Gear Guide" Parts 1 and 2.

  • Great job

  • You need to jam this with that little Japanese girl who cranks this on her keyboard. Have you seen that shit? It's amazing!

  • Great tune. You played it perfectly. But I make one observation though? I think you should angle your smaller floor tom just a litte bit. Because you hit the rim just about every time you hit that drum. Other than that, It was great. I'm a huge Kansas fan. I like to play to the entire album. Thanks Domenic!

  • @mfulham2002 My son commented on the same thing....he asked what's that clicking sound? it was actually my mic that was faulty and i couldn't get any bass from it so when i hit the floor toms it was very "clicky." I've sinced fixed that problem.

  • Dom,

Can I call you Dom? Dom, how long have you been playing. You look very smooth behind the kit. No wasted motion. Are you self taught, do you read drum notation? Do transcribe your covers first?

    Thanks,

    -r

  • Great playing....great cinema photography!!!

  • Great playing, great cinema photography.

  • Great job - You really captured the feel of this song perfectly!

  • Great you nail this cover Cool

  • sweet cover! check out mine on my channel :)

  • REAL LIFE DALE DOBACK!

  • Great cover man! I really enjoy watching you play. the editing is great! check out my cover of this song if you ever get a chance. once again, great job!

    -Cory

  • Thanks for putting this up. You nailed the fills and I now have a better idea how to play this tune on my kit. Great Job!

  • Love the reverb on the snare :) Just like the original tack....nice !

  • Hello again! I've been searching on the second-hand market, and now I've found a Pearl Vision VBX with cymbals and double pedal for ~900 dollars. In my opinion, it's a really good deal, and as far as I've got it; you're using the same kit? I'm gonna end this comment the same way I ended my last one: What do you think? :)

  • @roror16 I would jump on that! Sounds like a good deal. What kind of cymbals? what kind of finish, How many pieces?

  • @gallupi1965 It's probably the stock cymbals, but that's just a guess. The drumset is a 5-piece, and the finish is concord fade. It's about 2 years old by the way.

  • @gallupi1965 I've talked to the guy, and I managed to get the set for 600 dollars!

There were more cymbals than I thought, too! 3 Zildjian crashes, 1 sabian ride and sabian hi-hat.

  • Hello there!

Great cover, man. With such skills you should be way more famous

here on Youtube. Anyway, I was wondering what drums and cymbals

are you using? I was thinking about getting a Pearl Forum or Export,

    what do you think?

  • @roror16 Thanks! i really can't give my opinion on the Forums or the Exports because i've never tried them. All i can say is, for the money, the Pearl Visions are very good. I didn't even want to get these at first, I was holding out for some DW's but they were WAY outta my price range. Once I got the Pearls home, I changed the snare and kick heads and i was good to go!! I still have the original tom heads and they sound great!

My cymbals are a mixture of Sabians and Zildjians

  • Great job. I've been working on this cover myself and struggling with the break at 3:26. Your video help to bring some clarity. Your drums also sound great!

  • very nicely done!! I think the feel is right on and that is very important..I might cut back on the snare reverb a bit and the floor toms have alot of attack but no resonance....your playing is right on!

  • I have listened to 4-5 drum covers as my band is now playing this song. Yours is the most solid and the sounds to be the most correct. Thanks for posting this video it was really helpful. I have watched it several times. When learning a song - do you use tabs at all, just listen to it a bunch of times - what is your method?

  • @rgbmax i have about a 40 minute commute to work so i listen to the song over and over again in my car on the way. I'm not a formally trained drummer so i can't read notation or tabs. Everything is by ear.

  • doesnt even use headphones , now theres a good drummer :)

  • Wow!! You are a machine! man that was right on the money. Another song that takes alot of listening to to get even near correct but this was just incredible. Man I am envious of your very clean and confident playing style. You are one of the best drummers on you tube. Your set sounds great, Very will mic'd with proper effects and volume. Great camera work as well. I am glad I found you. Your quality of drumming makes for great learning videos as well. great stuff Domenic!!

  • @readyeddy101 Thanks again readyeddy!!

  • Loving the Pearl VBX... ruby fade

  • I have to say, you pretty much nailed the snare sound!

  • hey ur really good.... im thinking about purchasing a set of drums and i wasnt sure which to get: LUDWIG OR PEARL? which has a better sound and quality?

  • @MrLukeisawesome Thanks for the comment. I was about your age when i started playing. My first kit was a Yamaha set which had a really nice sound. I loved that kit, but I also love my Pearl Vision Kit. Drumming is only a hobby for me so i wanted something affordable. My (birch) Pearls are very affordable and very good quality. They cost me $1500 (Canadian) for a 6 peice set and stands (no cymbals) I have 1 more extra tom that I don't use. i've never tried Ludwig but i am sure they are very good!

  • @gallupi1965 hey thanks very much. another great drumming video haha... hopefully ill be able to get a camera and record some of my own mad fresh beats lol

  • @gallupi1965

    @MrLukeisawesome

I would check out Gretsch also, especially if you like melodic "round" bass drums.

  • Spot on playing again, I agree with bugernet and LouddrummerO your kit sounds amazing.

  • Great work on this classic tune, Nice and smooth! Again ur kit sounds great,My fav are ur floor toms!!!

  • That sound great! I wish i had your drum sound. Small world eh, im in Hamilton.

  • Man that was awsome keep it up : ) kits miced well nice
