  • so awesome

  • @Youmakemefart We do not encourage the jesusdisciples. They will just preach from their bestseller book and talk about some guy getting nailed on a cross (lucky guy I may add). Just enjoy the lecture and let the jesuspeople live in their own world. It's not their fault they were born this way.

  • RIP Randy Pausch. This lecture is the most inspiring thing I've seen in my life.

  • yes, this may be the shallowest thing ever on here, but I noticed the Power Glove in the picture at 18:44

  • Fantastic! Brilliant... watching this after I read the book, I now realize what kind of a person he really was. This is in my playlist along with Steve Job's Stanford speech...

  • I thought that the book was gonna b stupid but damn was i wrong!

  • Thanks for sharing

  • why would you dislike ? ? ? .. . :'-/

  • @Oranges8 Me too.

  • This really inspires me. I'm 11, and honestly, I don't have any dreams yet, so this makes me thing, what do I want to do when I grow up? What will be my childhood dreams, that I'll accomplish? And it's really sad that Randy has passed away, but his knowledge, and his advice, can inspire people for a very long time. I have a feeling this will stay with me throughout my life. Thank you Randy Pausch, and may you rest in peace.

  • the way that girl created the virtual world and the Ctrl Alt Delete part was funny. that was a burst out laughing moment. I love this video.

    RIP: Randy.

    We will miss you!!!!

  • The lecture didn't spare a single expression to flash on my face; either seeking something new to my knowledge with curiosity, enjoying the humor, the live facts, to ponder the deep philosophical truth in simpler words of understanding and even a tear drop popping out with a smile on my face where I know I've gained a lot but can't deny that I'm even loosing something priceless! :'-)

  • How could any person with a heart dislike this video?

  • not that it detracts, but I wish HD was in commonplace when this was made

  • Got the book for Christmas. Incredibly inspiring. He left a great legacy.

  • The book is just amazing. :D

  • Find your dream job in the renewable energy sector at Envirocruit

  • Ahhh ... Randy is such a delight to listen to. He will capture your attention with an unpredictable whit and observation of the human condition with such honesty. He's like the familiar friend you're keen to meet up with again for coffee and a good old chat!

  • @STORYTASTIC Is that so? Explain how he could have reversed his terminal prostate cancer.

  • @STORYTASTIC He had end stage pancreatic cancer. Get educated before you spout your nonsense.

    RIP. R.Pausch

  • I've never heard of this man, his accomplishments, or the life and suffering that he has lead until I came across this video. In the 1 hour, 16 minutes, and 27 seconds that I have spent watching this video he has become one of the most influential people I have ever had in my entire life. RIP.

  • Thank you so much Prof.

  • I accidentally ended up on this video and have no clue who he is but i can't believe that's a dying man talking, very inspirational

  • im an eyore. i dont want to be an eyore

  • Thats sad that he didnt kno that he COULD'VE changed the situation. :( never feel defeated like u cant beat something! U can beat nething. We are way more powerful than we kno.

  • Looks like there are at least 1859 Eyores out there. Such an inspiring guy. Watching this video made me want to try and run right through the brick wall standing in between me and what I want.

  • Such a cheerful guy !! I read about him on wiki and now I cant help but think, how can a man put up with so much pain and suffering and yet be so upbeat !! RIP Dr. Pausch

  • "The brick walls aren't to keep us out. They let us prove how badly we want things. And to keep ppl that don't want it badly enough out."

  • I cannot put into words how amazing that video was. Before it started, I was thinking, oh god, this video is over an hour long. When it finished that had changed to, oh god, why is this video over. This man was truely great, and I hope that I, along with many others follow the lessons he tried to bring forth. R.I.P. Randy Pausch.

  • great video

but being born in like nigeria or kazashstan limits your options in life =/

  • I finished reading the book a couple days ago, and I'm not afraid to say I nearly cried all throughout the novel. It is truly a very touching book... It gave me a different perspective on how to life life. It's just so mournful that cancer came and took his family, his friends, and unfortunately his life. Even though Randy is now gone, no one will forget him and the changes he made throughout our lives.

  • Teacher showed this yesterday. it was really cool when he put on the oakland mills jacket because that school is 10 min away from me

  • "Talk is not for you is for my kids" WOW touching!!! R.I.P

  • i use this video to hog the internet bandwidth

  • Μπράβο!! R.I.P.

  • Where are all the black people?

  • What a way to go...leaving something for his wife and children to always have to remember him by. I am sure he will not be forgotten by those who knew him or those that have watched this or read his book. I believe it is a wonderful thing to be able to share your life with so many people in the very last moments of your life.

Thank you Randy for your dreams and your advice see you soon!

  • when I am kinda lost in life, I come back to this video for direction! I know this talk wasnt for us, but thank you so much Randy Pausch!

  • Your dreams can become reality with enough effort.

  • Love this guy!

  • rip Randy, just finished reading your book ! sucha powerful novel , made me tear up during the end ! :(

  • only dean wormer would dislike this...

Alice has carried on and when i realized it was by him my jaw hit the floor. IN PIECES.

  • it just above limit.

  • 1855 people should die horrible syphilitic-induced painful deaths

  • saw this video a few years. My father just recently died. somehow I decided to buy the book, which also made me wanting looking at the video again. Practically finished reading the book in one day. It was a challenge just trying not to cry a tear.

  • that was an awesome video. i have to now write a paper on it and i have never watched a video for school where i cried. AWESOME LEGACY

  • "putting limits on what you will do, puts limits on what you can do"- (proved).

  • the only person stopping you from success is yourself

  • He really is an idol. He was a man with a great intellect and was right-minded and humorous. A great video that really touched me. RIP

  • Best time I ever spent watching anything on YouTube ... Randy confirmed every belief I've ever held ... I've always been a "Tigger" too!

  • @goodinfotoknow your mother is the antichrist for giving birth to an ignorant, insensitive, uneducated, ass like you who lacks a theory of mind and instead stirs up controversy because you have nothing better to do.

  • I HATE MACS but love this guy

  • MY KOREAN WIVES - click on my channel!

  • i was listening him with google italian subtitles. But google translate is the worst shit i've ever seen. I don't understand so much...

  • I clapped at the end of the video until it ended. I'm not sure if that is awesome or made me weird, but doing it after the second time I watched it I realized it was a little of both. R.I.P. to a great man

  • Wow...this guy was phenomenal.

The posters around town are right. He really did write the book on living, while he was dying.

  • This is a fantastic message delivered in perfect way.

  • 1852 heartless people. If you didn't learn anything from this lecture, then you are one of those people who everyone gave up on.

  • people who disliked this might be the people who believed in alternative medicine like the gerson therapy and I must say gerson therapy could've helped him a bit

  • It's a shame I hadn't fund this lecture sooner.

  • DAMMIT, I LIKE THE SPEECH AND EVERYTHING BUT NOW MY TEACHER IS MAKING US PRESENT OUR OWN LAST LECUTES IN CLASS! ON A POWERPOINT!

  • Absolutely brilliant.

  • I actually sat through the whole thing and watched it. What a great man. That was definitely worth the watch. May he rest in peace.

  • RIP Randy Pausch. He was a great man. Not that I've ever known him personally, but he's touched many lives of those he never even knew, including me.

  • Great lecture...it's totally irrelevant that he happened to be dying of Cancer at the time and I believe that that is the real learning...

  • who in the right mind would dislike this. what is wrong with you people. I mean are u kidding me!!!!! I lost sleep over the fact that there are that low of people out there!

  • @St4shkins There are low people everywhere. Lots of people also have twisted minds. Keep your head up though. If you let it get to you, you'll end up like me. Follow this guy's words and stay positive

  • I wish evolution was still active, those 1851 dislikes really don't deserve to be in the gene-pool.

  • Wonderful person

  • Amazing...

  • really thank my skul for having Randy Pausch's book in the syllabus.....Truly inspiring story

  • Who are the dumb asses that dislike this video?

  • @candie8301972

I agree!! Whot the hell COULD dislike this video!? Assholes!

  • It makes much more sense after reading the book, because you understand alot of his refrences.

  • I've read Pausch's book, The Last Lecture, and I must recommend it to everyone as well. It was such a great read, getting in on his insights and inspiration - he really sounded like an amazingly respectable and admirable person. I couldn't help but come here to watch his last lecture too.

  • so ich bin nackt

  • @thefutureprez2016 As a disher of bilious tripe yourself, I suppose you could be classed as an "expert" on (actually, "in") garbage.

  • @thefutureprez2016 what the fuck is wrong with you?

  • THis is kinda sad ...:( but inspiring

  • THis is kinda sad ...:(

  • this is like my third comment on this video but the guy is just to awesome "i can live with that as a legacy" the humility....

  • who were his parent? they mustve been the greatest people in the world

  • Has great ways to look at life

  • this guy is just amazing. this is how i want to approach my death. knowing and accepting

  • Nobody masters life.... But man, this is something to live by.

  • Nobody masters life.... But man, this is something to think about.

  • The sky's the limit

  • You know what actually made me tear up? Him using his last lecture to sing his wife happy birthday because she didn't get full focus the day before. What a man...

  • One of the most inspirational people to have ever lived.

  • ehm sensual girl here just for you baby

  • TISSUE. NOW.

  • What an inspiration... I am Speechless

  • If you want success you go for it

  • wow who could possibly dislike this video?? probably because they saw the push ups and got scared...

  • @caenidproductions or because of its length

  • Anything is possible

  • the second head fake gets me every time....

RIP Randy and thank you for the sage advice.

  • I. hate. Alice. so much! Though, this guy is awesome.

  • @slasher932 Look up "Scratch"

It's a better version of what Alice is supposed to be. Kids take to this stuff like water.

  • he reminds me of Jim Carey

  • @Muhammad6531 It seems a little lazy to trash the guy and this video without offering your view of what would be more memorable (or worthwhile). I am not criticizing your dislike of this. I'm just disappointed when I see people only offer negative comments. Give us something better! That's why I'm on the web. I'm looking for different points of view to consider. Thanks, Muhammad6531.

  • @Muhammad6531 Untrue; there are many people here who've learned at least one useful thing. The practice without a ball argument to teach fundamentals for example. How many people would actually think of that? You may be a genious and know all of these things already so how about you give a better speech and upload it?

Call me a defender but at least I have some respect for the deceased; and an open mind.

  • @Muhammad6531 if you werent feeling (or able to wrap ur mind around) what Mr. Pausch was saying how is it that you were dense enough to sit there staring at ur pc for the entire hour. Somebody's not very bright.

and remember: treat others how u want to be treated. In keeping with this, its obvious to me that you dont want any compassion or consideration.

  • But now that I'm actually watching the speech, I realize just how much there is to learn. I find myself pausing the video every ten seconds to take down notes and I'm only at the ten minute mark!

  • @DarkSpydaIV go and get the book! his entire transcript is there! :)

  • I think it was a great lecture and it gave me the inspiration I needed to continue on with my goals for myself.

  • I cried when his wife blew out the birthday candle. This was so inspiring and touching...

  • lool einzige deutsche hier

  • Having the crowd sing Happy Birthday to his wife is one of the most cringe-worthy things I've seen in a long time.

  • @Pizuzuzimmer Well, fuck you. It was his lecture.

  • @molewizard

Yes, it was. And it was mostly a trite, cringe-worthy one.
