  • It looks soo good and I didn't ment in a sacarstic way.

  • PCs were indeed shitty game computers at the time

  • Very nice! By the way, computers like those were called 'lunchbox' PCs (because of their shape). They were basically desktop systems in a case with a handle so they could be portable. I would love to find one of those and upgrade the internals to modern specs!

  • Need!!!!!!

  • that would be so fun to bring into a college lecture while everyone else has laptops you have a pcwave!

  • Holy shit... VINTAGE is right

  • What... The.. Shit... Is.. THAT? O__O I would WANT that for vintage :0

  • What exactly is this computer called? I dont recognize it, who made it?

  • @ogicabp4u hey pass the ketchup LOL

  • what the hell is my microwave doing there???

  • @SaikyoKi I have one the Compaq Portable 3 systems. Backup battery is shot, but I would say this looks "almost" the same. However my keyboard plugs into the side. I don't have a HD, but I used I think FreeDOS on a floppy.

It may be old but I have no plans on getting rid of it.

  • what are you playing this on? :D a microwave owen? xD

  • Now that's a laptop!

  • whats the brand and model?

  • compaq portable III clone

  • PORTABLE? Heh, maybe for bodybuilders and construction workers..

  • that's what they used to call portible. in fact, there were three types of portable computers then:

luggable (huge "portable" machines that weighed a ton)

    portable (like this one)

laptop (like our laptops today only bigger and more weight)

  • lol this was as close as it got for being that powerful before now there called cell phones lol cell phone are probebly as powerful as that........ well a regular cell phone not like an iphone ;)

  • wow! a computer so small, it can fit in one room!

  • @AFNYOAQIS That's not all. It will fit on one ordinary desktop. Now thats something!

  • That computer is too cool, I've never seen anything like it before! Classic game too, but not a patch on Prince of Persia which was from around about the same time (or at least I had them at the same time).

  • You sre looking at the Compaq portable (probably) if not the portable 2 or 3.

  • i have a portable 2 it is orange screen

  • DOS or windows?

  • Awesome that computer would pwn a Voodoo PC lmao

  • I saw the same modle on ebay

  • What kind of PC is that? It looks like an early Compaq, it has an orange gas plasma screen.

  • Wow! An old plasma screen!

  • how old is it?200?

  • Erk ! Red creen ! I prefer black and white :-) ! 4/5

  • OMG that PC is awesome. I think this is the most interesting and awesome PC i've seen thus far.

  • that's not a screen, it looks like more a microwave!

  • aren't there computers kina like that in the movies game?

  • It looks like a microwave without buttons!

  • Black ' n' Red ^_^

  • A Stone Age game for a Stone Age computer. However, that is not to make fun. I still like the old Vintage 8088 systems. :)

  • Awesome machine!!!

    Surely it makes tasty toast.

  • I had the original barbarian, it was made by psygnosis... horrible horrible game. It started out with really bad speech that said "BAR BARIAN"

  • Barbarian > Barbarian II

  • BTW, that game is Barbarian II, not Barbarian

  • Lovely little piece of hardware. Back in the day that would make you the envy of all the nerds. :)

  • Is that a red LCD screen?

  • Looks like and old oven or even older microwave!

  • yeah x'DDDD

  • try to play crysis on it hahaha LOL

  • Who cares? Crysis is overrated. It starts off good, but then gets boring. Running around in corridors with virtually nothing to do is not a good gameplay experience

  • haha... it looks like an microwave xD

  • nice computer, looks like overheated tomato stuffed microwave. old days rules

  • cool

  • mmm.. Plasma displays. I miss my Toshiba T5100. two ISA slots, one was FULL LENGTH.

  • look like toaster..... haha

  • lol nice computer and still running good is great I use my Compaq Desk pro 4/66i from 1991 (not to old) for some daily tasks just to exercise it other than that I use a new imac I like yours what is it?

  • Very old PC... Whoa...

  • Sh*t, my eyes hurt after just watching a few secs... No way this cant be healthy...

  • A Compaq portable :) Sweeet stuff, man.

  • No it's a clone, the real Compaq Portable have a protect plastic on the plasma display an a 5"1/2 drive

  • Oh, thanks for clearing that up then :)

  • Nice, I remember playing around with a similar computer back in the days.. though it was more like laptops are nowadays.. but those orange black screens were alike :D

  • thats a "laptop" or portable computer

  • THE NEW ERA OF GAMING COMPUTERS HAS COME LOL, :)

where did you get that from??

  • LOL

  • an old game runs perfectly on older hardware but in my case when I download any DOS game on my Windows Vista PC which is one year old, I get that message: this system does not support fullscreen mode.

  • Yeah well, thats Vista, you got what you paid for: a bad, buggy system with too high system requirements. For DOS games, download DOSBox. Works fine on my Mac, except Doom, which doesn't have sound.

  • i TOTALY agree, vista just seems to unfinished and buggy for me, i hate my stupid vista laptop.

  • Get Linux hehe

  • holy shit that is one old computer

  • wow!!! how old is that computer?!! 0_0

  • i got a 286 at 15 mhz,and a 386 at 33 mhz,and a 486dx2-66mhz and the i had a p1 at 166mhz,and later a P3 at 800mhz ,AND NOW I GOT dual core 4600+ at 2400mhz ,8600gt 256mb video,320gb hdd, 2gb RAM ,WATH a HISTORY

  • Wow man you got the 386?

  • lol you have to option of monitor

    b&w

    b&red XD

  • At least you can see the character.. couldn't see it on the other green screen computer. What make and model is it btw?

  • lawl.. i'd want to have that.

thats an amber monochrome monitor right? and i think that machine should be in a museum, what year is it from?

  • Older doesn't mean better, games are getting close to looking "real".

  • i like the box, wery cool, but remember the game too, the reason we lated to the school ;)

  • Cool! I was the programmer on this game so many years ago. It was my first game written on PC and was written entirely in assembler language - I dont miss those days;-)

  • that thing is as old as dirt. no offense.

  • Is beatiful as same as the piramids or any other ancient thing. heil to the classics!!!

  • wtf that thing looks like a microwave is that a windows 1956 or somthing

  • Windows 1956... haha... You're so under 20 its hilarious.

  • sweet jesus that thing is ancient!

  • What PC are you using?

  • We are giving away a whole collection of old computers and stuff (Commdore, Amstrad, Dataphon, BTX). For more details, contact me or go to skate-date (dot) net (slash) computer-sammlung

  • what the hell is that thing its looks like something that would fetch ALOT on ebay.

  • where do you get these????

  • compaq? think thats an old 'gas plasma' screen - cool!

  • I know that game, but i have never seen a computer that looked like a microwave oven... And that screen seems more "grayscale" (redscale?) than monocrome.
