This happens every day folks and sometimes the flight goes on as planned, sometimes it kills the turbine and they have to land. no big deal.

Its a shame after nearly a century of aviation, people who fly have absolutely no guarantee of safety:

1) No ballistic parachute type systems even exist for large aircraft. It is feasible with a lot of R&D.

2) NO solution yet for bird strikes.

3) Low pay for a lot of regional airlines (along with crazy work hours).

I don't see what is Boeing/Airbus doing to solve these fundamental issues.

These aren't really fundamental issues. When do you see an aircraft falling out of the sky due to structural failure? You are more likely to get struck by lightning. Also, having a Ballistic Parachute would decrease the Max Gross Weight at huge amounts. Finally, airliners have 2 or more engines for that reason, in case one fails. I don't think that Boeing/Airbus will ever try to solve these issues.

Ballistic parachutes do not guarantee safety. Bird strikes happen, and lots has been done to minimize the chance that they cause an issue. Regardless, your expectations here are unreasonable, flying is one of *the* safest ways to travel, there are *vastly* more deaths every year from motorized transportation and even seafaring.

A bird striking an engine is generally not going to be catastrophic, you still have one other engine, and you can just go around and land.
