Master of spinning throwing will be better than no spin . But that master will be 1 in billion ! Why ? You have to have a sharp mind to measure the distance to spin enough . In real life u miss u die .
is it more reliable in a self defense situation to throw with no spin or with a spin? because in the movies they always seem to throw with a spin, but it could be due to the fact that it looks more flashy. i would appreciate a response thanks!
@BroskieManDudeBro I contacted the author and he has this reply for you:
"In answer to the question, obviously a no spin has a far, far better chance of hitting a target point first, particularly a moving target. Everything I have ever seen in any movie that is knife throwing related is fake on every level."
@PaladinPress I'm surprised he didn't mention the fact that you shouldn't be throwing knives in a real battle scenario. Only an expert trained knife thrower should even try in a real scenario. Also one should remember, you have to 1-Carry these knives on your person 2-Most likely have more than one knife 3-Should also be good with a knife aside from throwing 4-There's laws against knives and five you have to have distance for 2 reasons, to reach for the knife AND to throw it.
I'm probably gonna try this in a way too destructive manner given I lack a large forrest with plenty of trees to practice on, and am forced to do it in-house.
Wow, I was really surprised when I picked up a knife out of my kitchen drawer, went outside, and threw it at a tree this way and it actually stuck. Also, his estimate of "3 feet today, 5 feet tomorrow, 12 feet next week, and maybe 20 feet next month" was pretty accurate for me. After about a week and a half i had my target 15 feet away and i could stick it with the point in straight 3 out of 4 times.
Now, if only i could rate the video to give it a thumbs up.....
@MinutemanM1A1 Thank you for the comment and the heads up about the video settings. Video rating should now be available for this one and I'll go through the others soon.
@GameMusicCompilation Sorry, but that's definitely wrong. I've used anything from cheap, lightweight kitchen knives to the best and heaviest of dedicated throwers. When this is done well, it works and is far more consistent than other spinning techniques.

@Shadowlooker12 This is a small clip from a full-length DVD. Perhaps he addresses your questions in the full-length version.

Amazing your throwing style Ralph. Your video is a big inspiration for me. Thanks

if you let the knife flip in the air it works more often with more types of knife.
if you do his method it only works with this knife.
GameMusicCompiIation 4 weeks ago
@GameMusicCompiIation That is incorrect. You can throw just about any straight backed knife.
