Though your description may say what it is about, as opposed to you, I, too, am going to make a garden railway. Only... I had so many layout ideas, I didn't know which one to use! So... by coming to this video in an accidental way, this is the kind of layout I would like to use.
I know that Bachmann Trains makes a G scale Thomas & Percy now but I don't think they make the "James" yet? Great video post of the trains ! I've added your clip to my "10,000 Garden Train Videos" playlist 1.
Each playslis has approx. 200 G-scale, garden train videos selected from youtube. Again, Thanks for your posting.

Thanks. I made the layout to fit in one section of grass in my backyard - so this layout is not for all. If you like the look of this layout, it is easy to replicate. Buy bricks and marble chips at your garden supply store - and lay the track down on it. The buildings I bought from Aristo-craft. Have fun.
The track in this video is made for outdoor use - rain, snow, everything (this type of track is made by LGB, USA Trains, Aristo, Piko...) Lionel track and trains are most definitely made for light indoor use only. We keep Thomas and James inside most of the time.
I've been searching for a G-Scale Thomas the Tank Engine Model Train Set, preferably LGB or Lionel. . . I've not been able to find it for sale, even online. Am I not typing in the right search engine line? Or do they not make them anymore? Where did you get yours and where can I find one? Thak you.
I have these two sets. Although the plastic they used for the gear in my James (I got as a gift on my 7th b-day in '97) fell apart & now he's not usable, my Thomas (I got it as a gift for Christmas when I was 2 in 1991) Still works great. These are some amazing toys.
However did you manage to accomplish such a goal? This layout must be powered using feeder wires or something. Because if I had a layout like this, I'd need feeder wires.

You're a great collector if you have a lionel G scale thomas and james.
I thought that they were discontinued in 2001.

For O scale they made Thomas, Percy, James, and Diesel. For G scale- the scale in this video- they made Thomas and James only.
