  • the most underrated band

  • my only beef with better than ezra is the fact they went to lsu. sick of the tigers takin over football. but they didn't take over music. haha i laugh last

  • @killjoytjp well in the song the lyrics are well maybe ill call or write you a letter.. that shows how old it is. ha ha

  • It was released the same year. I had seen them playing around LSU campus in the years leading up to this and they were already playing it. The sound was just "in" then. They're a good band.

  • God, I miss the 90's. We never knew how good we had it until it was gone.

  • cool(-_-)

  • @baxtersave96 I'm pretty certain it came out a year or two after "When I Come Around."

  • I LOVE B TE!!!!!! So does my bitch of a GF JK! WE love you guys! Smile face.

  • Lead singer looks like a young John Kennedy Jr. Great toon.

  • I'm seeing them tommorow.

  • im seeing these guys on saturday!

  • thank god for shinedown?! shinedown sucks

  • @rickenbacker1996 you're a fucking idiot shinedown has the best vocals in rock today. They did become pussies and go mainstream but they don't suck you stupid piece of shit

  • @tailg8er i guess their fans suck too because i have no idea why you're such an asshole. It was my opinion and i really have no clue why you just insulted me. Shinedown, Papa Roach, Seether, Nickelback, all of those bands are mainstream and awful you even called them that.

i can name a billion better bands than shinedown that aren't mainstream and i can name a billion other bands that are better that are mainstream.

Oh yeah you're a fucking idiot but at least you used the word you're right.

  • @rickenbacker1996 You don't have a dick so your opinion means nothing. end of conversation.

  • I remember going swimming at the Y (one of the best ones in CT, clean, and the people were nice), and hearing this song on the radio in the pool. Brings back so many memories!

  • I just pulled out my cassette...It sounds better than ever!

  • can someone please upload the album version or the official video for this song please?

  • @POPCANCOCK I echo that ~ doesn't seem right to hear the song end without the "that's right" :)

  • reminds me of my ex....it was good..before he turned into a psycho...LoL!!

  • 28 people are idiots....

  • I want the 90's back

  • @PakezSystematicWrath I don't.

  • @burnsport1 Why not?

  • Very original great music in a time where everything was a copy.

  • better than ezra is, IMO the most underrated band ever, it sucks how the whole deluxe album except for this awesome song is overlooked.

    BTE rocks!!

  • remember in the 90's gas was 60-85 cents a gallon

  • shut up people.. Find the music you like and forget about the rest.. It's easy if you try. And for the record, music has always had terrible artists they just fade away while the good ones stick around. I'm sure there was garbage on the radio being played along side The Beatles. You just stick to listening to the beatles.

  • my son's name is ezra.

  • stephen colbert just mentione u guys

  • I'm so glad bands like this still tour and spread their awesome jams, THANK YOU.

  • I was fortunate to listen to this supreme time in music. And it was damn good living with ya. I think ( and it is only my opinion) that the 1990s were the last decade that produced true classics. 90s music is still hugely downloaded and bought. This new crap doesn't even compare to what i experienced being in high school and a young adult in the 1990s. Man i wish i had a time machine..... sigh..

  • @bleedforme1981 I couldn't agree more... Man alternative rock in the 90's was so brilliant. The time when I actually had a CD collection and it took pride of place in my room. Music meant everything and we all had the most amazing shared experiences through. Thank you so much, Mr Cobain, for bringing the alternative to the masses and opening so many ears; whether they liked your music personally or not.

That first day I borrowed a Pearl Jam 10 or Silverchair's Tomorrow EP. what an amazing time.

  • Holy fuck!!! they're amazing live....Dude...how old is this band...this is the first time I've heard it and I listen to everything from the Offspring to Blink 182 to ACDC

  • @DeathByInnocence Wow, this is the first you've heard of them??? How old are you? Well here's the short of them. They formed in 1988 with 4 members, in 1990 their lead guitarst committed suicide. The other 3 took some time off then decided to move on as a trio. They started their own indie lable and released Deluxe in 1993. Then they were picked up by Electra records in '95 and rereleased Deluxe which put the song "Good" at #1 on the charts. So that's the short Begining of Better than Ezra.

  • @VintageKustom Well I'm oblivious then cuz I'm 19 and I've just now heard of them...It sucks that all the good bands seem to have tragic lives...that poor guitarist... :(

  • Comment removed

  • My name's Ezra, and this band thinks their better than me :(

  • @crush40fan101 I made a comment like that a while back on here.

  • At one time I thought music couldn't get any worse than boy bands in the early 2000's. Then Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Rihanna, and co. showed up...

  • @AnotherTallGuy and to think they still have boy band bullshit like Justin Beiber...he's like 2011's Aaron Carter...

  • keep the POSITIVE comments coming. Agree with SimonKentSmith, where did all this music go? are guitars and drums such a bad thing? Today "popular rock" music is a bad trend I dont like. Thank god for bands like Shinedown for example.

  • @peitzy9 The problem is that the music industry has changed. In the 90s, the way your band became popular was by making good music, which got played on the radio and stirred up interest. If you could keep making hits, you became really popular. If not, you're a one hit wonder. Nowadays, the philosophy is not to sell the music, but the artist. It's all about image. Bieber isn't popular with tween girls because his music appeals specifically to them, he's popular because the think he's cute...

  • @W1ndupf3rrari Nope, the way you got on the radio was through, and still is, money from the Record Companies. Payola will always exist.

  • @peitzy9 Cont'd... And without her crazy outfits, Lady Gaga probably wouldn't be nearly as popular as she is now. With these types of artists, their image is what attracts fans. Their music is an after thought, just a catchy, repetitive tune that gets stuck in your head and keeps you thinking about the artist. The incentive is no longer to make great music, it's to have an image, and project that as much as possible. Of course, there are exceptions. I think the rock industry is immune to this...

  • @peitzy9 Cont'd again, sorry for the long post... because you need a group for rock, and the image thing really only works with a single person. The billboard chart confirms this; for 8 of the top 10 songs, that artist is a name, not a group. I hope this image thing is just a phase, but I'm not optimistic. All we can do is support up and coming bands like the Black Keys, Cage the Elephant, and Middle Class Rut, and hope the music industry goes back to focusing on music.

  • @W1ndupf3rrari @peitzy9 I agree completely with W1ndupf3rrari. 30 Seconds to Mars really pours passion into their music, They're one of my favorite current bands. Also, even though the White Stripes aren't a band anymore, I still consider them current because Jack White will still keep playing, I'm sure. And as long as Jack White is playing guitar, music is still alive. ;)

  • @Drewsius ...oh god.

  • @peitzy9 i totally agree, but shinedown sucks, sorry i cant agree with you on that : /

  • @peitzy9 what?! New Shinedown is so mainstream, it's ridiculous. Now, they're older stuff is awesome.

  • @peitzy9 Shinedown blows asshole galore, it's best to leave the 90s in the 90s. Leave it to the guys who did it in the time they did it.

  • @peitzy9 are you kidding me? shinedown is terrible

  • So many good bands.. Where did they go? Where are they now? Why did radio give up on them for the next big trend?..

  • i uploaded the music video

  • completely didnt mean to dislike the video!! i like!

  • Everyone is mad cause there little katey perry bands and all those other shitty pop bands lip sync. He just knows how to sing :) Get over it faggots

  • Fucking GOOD!

  • oh so good

  • i miss who i used to be when this song came out

  • @peanut7988 me too, my friend, me too. This makes me want to watch 'That 70's Show'

  • This song would be AWESOME if it weren't for that lame guitar solo right through the killer bass.

Besides that, this is the best BTE Good live on EweToob.

    Anyone else agree?

  • This song would be AWESOME if it weren't for that lame guitar solo right through the killer bass.

    Anyone else agree?

  • not making any statements all im saying is the bass line is very similar to smells like teen spirit. i think that makes the song, that being the bass line.

  • @Bsimms92 are you a musician? because, no. They have the same rhythm, but so does like 40% of music. it's 4 quarter notes. Smells like teen spirit is i iv bIII bVI. This is I V (natural) vi (natural) iii. They're really not that similar.

  • Saw these guys at 40 Watt Club in Athens, GA around 1999 or 2000. Awesome show!

  • Anyone know when this performance was?

  • still looking for a song from back in the 90's this one ain't it_But it's "Good_!" I remember I used to sing it in karaoke all the time lol

  • i miss the 90'

  • definitely over-dubbed the lead vocals in post. 2:06

  • does anyone have this version of the song on mp3? please email to mirokuthepimp@msn.com

  • Dear 1990's, Before you I was but a child, while you were here, I took you for granted. Now as I look back, I somtimes cry, and long for you again. I think of those times, how good they used to be, different, I wish I could have seen. Before you I was a child, now that I am here, I see how much you made me smile. ~Mike Flaherty ;)
  • @MisterFlaherty i cried when i read your comment.

  • @MisterFlaherty

    I couldn't agree more

I hate life in the present day

    Everything got worse...

  • Still their classic in my opinion. Still fresh and funny.

  • Love the band, love the song, but is he lip syncing? Really looks like it in one or two places especially

  • SO. This is the band that has been the bane of my life.

    My name is Ezra. -_-

    *sigh* good song though

  • This song has the exact same chord progression as Green Day's When I come around. That's not to say I don't like it , I do I'm just saying

  • @lob287 Actually, When I Come Around has the exact same chord progression as "Good." Good came out in '93, and WICA was in '94.

  • You have no idea how embarrasing it is to walk into Best Buy and sing to the employee "AHA GOOD AHA IT WAS GOOD" and have him have no idea what in the world you're trying to look for... thank god for youtube...

  • god i can't believe the petty bickering over this song bla- bla- bla.smoke a joint and enjoy the music...4;20!

  • Comment removed

  • Dear 90s, it was good living with you <3

  • @jointhearmy555 darn tootn right it was!!!

  • @jointhearmy555 that comment almost brought a tear to my eye! (I wonder if that's how the generation before us felt about the 80's... I'm sure it is)

  • @jointhearmy555 amen to that shit man...where have the good times gone??

  • @jointhearmy555 ...Totally undeniably agreed.

  • The bass line to me kind of sounds like the bass line in smells like teen spirit.

  • Well I can scratch the idea of starting the band named "Ezra is marginally worse".

  • my name is ezra

  • The lip syncing is because the sound in the venue wasn't the best. Most concert DVD's are always re-recorded in a studio after they're filmed. It's nothing new, still a good performance.

  • @DevinOfGTF What this guy said. Most all live recordings are re-touched up in a studio and this process is sometimes more of a pain than just doing a regular studio recording. If this recording was re-touched then he is actually singing in the performance you see but they have dubbed over the vocals...but the poster said it might have been due to the transfer from the DVD. To me it sounds like the studio recording of the song and a video of them performing the song meshed together.

  • I saw these guys live in a small venue and they didn't lip sync a thing. They were awesome.

  • So cute! I like 'em tall. Great song.

  • Reminded me of someone. Kinda sad but good. Love it

  • "Livin' with your uncle....is gooooooooooood, livin' with your uncle......is gooooooood, livin' with your uncle.....is goooooooooooooooooooood

  • Man,I like that guitar, I want one.

  • cool band

  • They're one of my faves and every aspect of their show is incredible; check out more of their obscure songs and albums and be prepared to be blown away; I love most of their songs, but the ones that never got airplay are some of the best ever! Here's a list to dig into:

Under You, Happy Endings, Porcelain, Just One Day, Black Light, Scared, Are You?, Speeding Up To Slow Down, Beautiful Mistake, A Southern Thing, Allison Foley, Briefly, Our Last Night, Rolling, I Just Knew, Get You In, Rewind

  • Ok, a few notes:

The drummer in this video is Travis McNabb who was with Better Than Ezrra from 96 thru 09 when he left to join the band Sugarland as their tour drummer. BTE's new drummer is Michael Jerome (formerly of Pop Poppins and Course of Empire for anyone familiar with DFW bands).

I have seen BTE in concert 40+ over 12 years, most recently 12-28-10 in Dallas, and 12-30-10 in New Orleans... trust me- KG is not lip syncing

GO see them live!!!! You won't be disappointed!!

  • Comment removed

  • @thewhitetomatoes

Then why they do they watch the video if the don't like it? Haha

  • @typeoverbox

    Probably

  • Oh man, I hate this song, but it's so catchy. I think my only option is suicide.

  • and playin' the guitar !

  • peitzy9 get a life I was there wanna clue? He's singing seen them too many times

  • I've seen them live. They sound just as good, they don't need to lip sync, believe me.

    Thanks for the post.

  • NO ONE IS BETTER THAN EZRA KOENIG.

  • Whoa!!! Now THAT knocked my socks off!!

  • teeny you are the tool. Why call someone a tool for stating a fact. Wiki it. This bands drummer left to tour with sugarland: fact. It was a great opportunity and these guys in the band were cool with that and still good friends with drummer: fact. Maybe this drummer in the video is the replacement drummer or the original drummer who left to tour with sugarland. I don't care enough about which actual guy is drumming, but the drummer for Ezra has gone on to another band. Apologize. Moron.

  • better than ezra makes douchebag music

  • @Jelledk u would about douchebag's

  • @Jelledk

Oh, so then you must be a big fan then, huh?!
