  • Nice growth in your fish!!! Bye the way just a lil thing i noticed i have the same cascade heater. The clips are suppose to be above the heating element. or it could result in it breaking and not working properly i noticed one of the clips is on the bottom!! Just figured id give the heads up! not trying to be a jerk! he looks very happy and healthy very active!!!

  • I got one yesterday at petsmart and I saved his life he was very gray but is doing good and they grow very fast

  • @CHIMMER100 ya know whats funny. I just got one from petsmart that was in bad condition when i got him! Now he is doing AMAZING! i swear you would think its a business and they have employees to do work like take care of their fish etc.... they dont care. Im glad you saved another O:)

  • What do u feed him

  • Only a dumbass keep an oscar in an 800 gallon, i wouldve gotten a shark already

  • Are these fish easy to care for?

  • You can get everything in the video at pet valu for under 400$\ for those who asked, and i live in canada aswell.

  • is that green day

  • is that green day

  • 1 oscar for 800G? what kind of weed are you using?

  • Lol @timspartan are you on crack? You have an 800 gal aquarium? 75 is more than good enough for one, you could have like 50 in an 800! I seriously doubt you have an aquarium that big because if you did you would have enough aquarium experience to know how big aquarium you need for an Oscar.

  • That was a good increase in size.

  • American Idiot for the win!

  • When hes a baby like this size could I keep one in a 75 gallon? But Then when he gets bigger upgrade him to a 800 gallon tank? Or would that be to small? Also could I keep clown loaches with him in the 75 gallon?

  • @Timespartan111 waterchanges keep up water quality, the real issue is the fishes size surpassing the classic 1 oscar to a 55gallon 'rule'. kind of reminds me of the inch/gallon rule, absolute garbage. a 55 is narrow, oscars often outgrow the 12" (if memory serves) width. with something like a 75, the width is about 24", i would much rather see two O's in a 75 then one in a 55. It should be happy with clown loaches if you get about 3. They usually only grow 6-7" IME.

  • I just got a albino tiger Oscar and a tiger Oscar with a pleco about 3 hours ago they are babies right now in a 10 gallon tank

  • how has he grown so much, i have a 33 gallon tank which is 3 foot and he hasnt grown that much, i have a filter upto 125 gallons too and i feed lots of food? look on my videos for my oscar hes grown very little in the past 4 months

  • DAYUM DUDE

  • what did you feed him when he was a baby?

  • wtf..... I've had mine for like 5 months now, they're not near as big as yours in 3 months. I feed them regularly, they have pellets, crayfish, even bacon once... They grow soo slow.

    What's the deal yo?!

  • what did you feed it to get it that size in that time :L

  • I got my tiger Oscar at 3 inches and now he is 5 inches and it's only been 4 weeks haha

  • @KiLLerNinja131 ya dude they grow 1in every month but thats crazy

  • no way it grew that much in 3 months

  • holy cow i was wondering how fast they would grow now i know what i have to look forward to cause mine is the size of yours at the begging of the video

  • i hope this beauty is in a bigger tank now!

  • wtf did you feed that thing? lol

  • r4trter

  • prosit ras. vera sabih! ha nixtri wiehed ada :D :D :D

  • this is ust an opinion but perhaps u shuld give the loaches a place to sleep or hide out of sight.

  • mine grew 4 inches bigger in two months. its around 6 inches now. =)

  • i had two albino oscars for 6 months then they both died with in a day of each other with no sihn of infections etc and done every thing properly. i have no idea why they both died

  • So there's no way my 60 gallon will be big enough for my juvenile tiger oscar and jack dempsey when they're adults? How fast do they reach maturity?

  • after 1 year they reach adult size than continue growing slow.. look at my other videos

  • thanks for the info, but do you think that my 60 will be enough for a jack dempsey and a tiger? The dempsey is slightly bigger and harasses him already. So I'm inclined to believe that it's not going to pan out.. lol.

  • oscars grow so fast

  • @TandTfishpro in less than a month my baby tiger oscar doubled over doubled in size. I was at the shop last week and I think it could eat its siblings! I have cut down on the food, but that does not seem to stop him! I need my 55 gal tank up an running asap!

  • i bet this oscar is big now or even like old or already have generation of lil fish now....but this fishs color is pretty kool....

  • new video online 1year+4months

  • wow.....ill try a petstore first.....haha

  • thx uh where do u get those stuff cuz i live in Canada

  • From Malta Europe. :) ... try on ebay

  • @retic257 try finding a local Big Als or any asian fish store. Most of the fish at the asian places are in better condition, have better colourization/patterning and cost about a few bucks less but it depends.

  • hey my oscar is around 3 weeks old and it has lots of white spots all over its body what should i do!?

  • use eSHa exit - Anti Whitespot Treatment. I have found it very good.. dont take too long because it will die

  • what size is this tank? i'm getting a 55g. and i don't know if I want one or two. what you think i should get?

  • Only one sir, 2 if you are prepeared to get a bigger aquarium after some months

  • is a 100 gallon tank enough for 2 grown oscars

  • Yes, that should be excellent for a pair.

Just make sure that it has good filtration, and all that good stuff.

Best of luck with the oscars

  • mines just a little bit bigger but always hungry like ill just feed him a bunch of goldfish then shell act like shes gonna explode then i leave the room for not evan 5 minutes then come back and she acts like shes never eaten for her whole entire life its kinda funny then i wont feed her and sheel be all sad lol i dont wat her 2 die though

  • mine tht same size

  • Yes when its young pallets only , nowday i give him frozen shrimps and bloodworms too with pallets. I have new video online in the new aquarium

  • thats mad i have a little one like at the start so it will take 3 months to get big :) ?

    feed it pellets??

  • what did you feed him on to make him grow that fast wow he is big great video buy the way yours john from leicester i have a tiger oscar he is only about 1 to 2 inches at the mo

  • regular water changes and a good diet will makes them grow retardly fast.

  • thank you so much, i have left the lights off for at least a day already and he is now swimming around and eating, but he is still scared when i turn on the lights. but i guess ill just let him keep getting used to it.

  • wow!!....your Oscar grew very large on the other video, I hope I can provide a bigger aquarium for my Tiger Oscar.

  • i just got my tiger oscar today, and he was really nice and black at the petshop, but when i introduced him to my tank he turned pale and lays at the bottom, but when i turn off the lights he is back to normal and moves around alittle, but as i turn the lights back on he lays there still, and turns really pale, can someone please tell me what is wrong?

  • Hi my friend, you have just made a small mistake, when you buy a new fish, the lights of the aquarium leave it on or off for at least 1 day ,,, because the fish is afraid at the first time, and if you turn on or off the light you are surely not helping. Let him esplore the new habitat and during cleaning the aquarium try not to move the decorations ecc , because the oscar will not feel at home :) ,,

  • And dont be afraid if the oscar lays in the bottom like death , they like to make this joke.. the color will come back when he feels at home

  • Both of my oscars did the same thing except they only "played dead" when I approached the tank. Now (3 days later) they beg for food and bite my finger if I leave it there too long lol. I love their personality and they don't beat up my Jack Dempseys :-)

  • yeah i just got mine yesterday and he did that too, but he looks fine when its dark

  • oscar is very very fast growing fish.....in just 1 month, my Oscar grew 1 inch.....it is now larger than my 2 blood parrot.

  • Take a look at my new video oscar 10 months later

  • nice tiger oscar dude i just got mine bout a month and a half ago he dont get along very well with my pair of convict cichlids though i just uploaded a fight between them check it out

  • Keep tiger oscars on a steady diet of cichlid pellets and for sure they'll grow an inch a month.

  • what do you feed him to make him grow that fast? i just got my tiger monday

  • this is my favorite video of oscar fish very informative too bad i watch this video too late...i got an over-crowded 20 gallon tiger oscar tank

  • Thanks , soon I will upload a new video of my oscar .

    paddy

  • Very original video and helpful too for those noobs who buy a baby oscar and put them in a gallon tank thinking the oscar will be ok. This shows 20 gallon is minimum for a long lasting fish.

  • Yes man,, it grows that fast !.. I just make frequent water change,, most importan thing.. but now it stops growing since i have a small tank.. Hope to make one next winter,,

  • Dude that's insane...do they really grow that fast? i always thought it took at least a year to get that size. How did you get him to grow that fast??...anyways that's an AMAZING growth...please check mine out and comment it.

  • damn dude thats fast!

  • Nice fish on here. Where did you get your fish from, i have a 55 gallon tank all set up but cant find a prize fish to put it in. Where should i get one from the pet stores in memphis have the ugliest fish ever?

  • I live in Malta EUROPE , I dont know where to buy fish from your place :)

  • dude i see your in memphis come out to nashville and go to the aquattic critter...best fish store ever....

  • This is good news to me. Since I catch them in the Everglades where there is more food, they should grow quickly. My biggest is 12 inches. Look @ the video reply of how I catch them.

  • how big is ur tank?

  • I like the timeline so everyone can see how fast these monsters grow! Oscars have to be the fastest growing large cichlid out there! I once put a baby in a 29gl thinking it wouldn't outgrow it for years... 1yr later I was buying a 55gl for it and ended up having to trade it in for some smaller cichlids!
