Thank you for sharing this beautiful video with us. I lost my first-born son a little less than a year ago. He loved the river and we took his ashes there, where he said he wrote a lot of his songs... He left us a beautiful granddaughter named Rain... your words about the river being the reason for the rain...or the rain being the reason for the river... nice... Thank you...
Love it...finding my folks just about a quarter of a mile where river that runs through...thanks for uploading this beautiful, masterpiece you made...God bless you Gary.
Great song, lyrics & music, Gary! Hope you find a producer. A great cause you are promoting. God be with you! Thanks for sending me this inspiring video. It made me realize I need to take some time for myself.
Beautifully played and sung, you're voice has a great quality to it. I Also loved the video production, really helped to bring home the message and make the lyrics stand out.
I've been a searcher, always looking round the bend... intro fab, scars that I have hidden, always on the mend?... should I take a left turn or a right... If I go I'll go with all my might?... next line i would miss out & the middle 8 ) the opening melody... thats the hook :-), Neil Young Fan & Simon Garfunkel Fan saying a big thumbs up... maybe trying to do too much but you don't need to. hope you find your river. B
I beleive the message is go with the flow thak you for sharing , perhaps that river may flow into a large ocean of hope , that someday Parkinsons can be washed away and flow out with the tide.
Seccond on the keyboard crying. Saw this over and over again as an Oncologist as I shepherded too many souls to find their river. Bless you for this. Press on and pass on your gifts, as you are doing and know we are workign hard to keep such gems as this long in the crown of humanity. Keep burning hot and beautiful tonideaf tonydeaf.org
This is absolutely beautiful -- your voice, the song, the video. Thank you for sending it to me. I had a wonderful colleague at a former job who, unfortunately, passed away too young because of Parkinson's. I wish you the best. You really have a terrific voice. Not that you sound like anyone else, but just every once in a while, something about your vibrato reminds me of Dave Mason (whose voice I love). Anyway, I'm very impressed -- and I'm very picky, so that's saying something. :-)
The song is beautiful, Gary. Your lyrics strong, your voice powerful and soothing...as the river; the scenery is superb; the editing is professional. A wonderful "whole" package. Grateful to experience the fruits of your labor! Many thanks!
Beautiful song - very inspirational! This song needs to be heard! It needs to be really listened to. The vidoe is beautiful too. Your voice, as usual, is fantasitic! PLEASE donate to the Michael J. Fox Foundation!
This is a great song that everyone should really listen to! The words - inspirational! The voice - beautiful, great, fanatasic! The vido - beautifully done! Please listen to his words. And PLEASE donate to the Michael J. Fox foundation!
Love you Gary. I'm getting off that road for sure. The river is a much nicer place to be from time to time. The music is fantastic as always. Really nice video as well.
We have a new video too called "off with my head" if youd like to take a look.
thank you very much. this song means a lot to me. it was shot at lundy lake up near mammoth, kern river and Tehachapi. i shot most of it and produced it myself editing on adobe premiere pro cs2.
i've been been affected by so many great musicians over the years. James Taylor is certainly one of them. as well as Paul Simon, CSN, and Joni Mitchell. i love songs that say something positive. So often we get in our own way in life like boulders in a river.
Wow. I'm stunned. It's like you're singing my life too. Is there a way to buy printed music and lyrics? Do you have Parkinson's? Mine is late onset and slow progressing -- am completely controlled with Mirapex every 4 hrs., my neurologist thinks for probably another 5 or 6 years by continuing to up the dose with the breakout of symptoms. Thank's for this AMAZING song and video. Again, Wow.....
@gamazz50 . I was dx'd about 3 years ago. Would you like some suggestions of things that have been helpful to me and some other people I know who have it? (Trying to stick to the motto: "Don't give unsolicited advice." :)
@gamazz50 OK :), ask your neurologist to give you suggestions for increasing your overall balance. Basic work-outs help with strength and things like areobics, jazzercise (exercise routines to snappy rythmic music), line dancing etc. really do help. CAUTION: start with a physical therapist, or slowly at home -- you don't want to fall on your behinder in the middle of a crowd. See what your body will do and build up slowly and carefully from there.
@gamazz50 Ask your neurologist about anything new to try. That said, many (not all, but truly many) people find that exercises to increase your balance can include fun things like the Billy Blanks workout, exercize with dance-type routines. A physical therapist can help. When walking, if you get that "freeze" lean forward a LITTLE bit (not enough to fall down -- I did that a lot at first). Think conciously about walking with a longer stride (which actually helps with the freezing)
@pinetreesNsagebrush Fortunatelly i'm not at that level yet but will keep what you've told me in mind. I'm doing yoga and walk a lot. trying to keep active. so far just shaky left hand, a little balance issues and spaciness. when i get tired (often) i shuffle a little. i have no insurance so it's all out of pocket.
Gary, I LOVE IT! Gave me goose bumps. Your vocals were superb the melody really moved me, and the lyrics sent a solom message of gaining strength. Harla
